it’s that outcomes come from both what you do and factors you don’t fully control. Many of the factors you don't fully control impact what you can do. Even something like being born in the US vs. being born in Iraq. The same person can rank very differently depending on the context, which already breaks the idea of a single scale like 1–10. Totally anecdotal and arguing this will boil down to outliers. The digital apparatus we live in is based around algorithms.

But in reality, it doesn’t work that way. except it does work that way. It might not be 1-10, it might be 1-5. It might be 0-1. You are ranked by people and algorithms and this determines a lot in your life. People push the idea that life is random because they don't want to admit they lack a lot of control over outcome.

romantically struggling men have a distribution problem, they can't even get to the talking stage with enough women. most of these comments are talking about men not aligning with the specific woman making the comment. for example, a lot of women love splashy dates/gifts or like it when men are flirtatious. taking "advice" about this stuff especially from the Reddit crowd only makes sense if your personality is similar to theirs.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/26 04:09 PM

I didn't say it would, but families will get more benefits imo.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 01:03 PM

Nobody actually cares what you do with your life outside of your family and close friends. I read posts like this all the time and it feels a bit egotistic. We are simply living in an era where having children and living the “traditional life” isn’t attractive to a large chunk of both men and women. The "traditional life" is how most people will be able to buy a house going forward. Unless you make a top 5% income in your area or have rich parents. Usually having a partner means having a kid. So…

And then this begs the question: what do men inherently bring to the table? The answer is nothing. There is nothing that inherently draws women to men. lol is this sub a bunch of asexuals and lesbians now? Never met a straight woman who believes this.

Grievances can be real, but someone's failures to succeed socially does not mean there is a war between genders. more people are going to be single going forward and the world will go on.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/26 07:28 AM
2

the gender wars is fueled by people in 3rd world countries farming for engagement and a bunch of 25+ year olds who missed the boat socially. It's largely fake and pushed by people with too much time on their hands. there is no "winning" and "losing" when slop accounts can post about how "women" or "men" are and they live in a 3rd world country totally unlike America. or when someone older who is single talks about how the other gender sucks, it's like someone who failed out of college saying col…

Every single Women in the World can be dated without having Money or Status if u are "that guy" to her. So obviously wrong. Rich people do not date poor people in general even if they find them attractive. Ignore a few exceptions and examples from movies and TV.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/26 06:43 AM

it's a popular viewpoint outside of the Internet bubble. I think BP talking points go too far but I'd say it's passed the red pill in terms of relevance. By banning it from a debate sub, you make the sub lose relevance.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 02:33 AM

this sub is stuck in the mid 2010s. tons of people outside of the Internet bubble talk about the blackpill, looksmaxxing etc. it's weird that this is true but I'm not sure why the mods have made the content on this sub so restricted.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 01:29 AM

I wish. Not close to 40 though.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/26 04:45 PM

if it takes your 40s to finally be stable and have confidence and even start to raise kids, you are well behind your peers. at least people on the right track.

life is not beginning at 40 lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/26 04:35 PM

Dating and romance are more of a woman thing than a man thing. More specifically, I think it's more geared toward straight women than any other demo. So I agree in a sense, men are the prize, men do not grow up dreaming of having a wedding lmao. People won't agree with this because the Internet sets the culture now and it's filled with complainers. I disagree with the biological clock argument though, technology has enabled women to fairly easily have kids > 30 and > 40.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/26 09:24 PM

it's not only about the men. a lot of women here are far from the norm or old.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 05:13 PM

this hypothetical doesn't exist. plenty of people who are not in the "top 5-10%" are getting married. the red pill has broken a lot of you guy's brains. don't use whatever is on this sub as proof, it's filled with a lot of people with weird interests and beliefs.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 11:24 AM

maybe slightly more. but I go to the gym cus I enjoy it not to get laid. Better ROI is finding a mixed gender social circle.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 01:28 AM

It lowers the # of women I'm interested in because I'd never date a woman who wasn't seriously active and tbh that's most women. not saying they have to lift but "hiking" or walking 10k steps isn't active.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 01:22 AM
7

how am I coping lol. I go to the gym like 5x a week and actually train hard. Most people at the gym barely try or have no clue what they are doing.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 01:18 AM
6

None of this stuff matters much. it's become performative, even something like the gym. I go to the gym often, most people who even frequent the gym barely workout. so imagine the # of people who don't go to the gym in the first place. the problem is that you lose social circles and the ability to meet women as you get older. plus more women are married or in relationships. that's all it is, giving guys a checklist of things to do is no different than a job posting asking for 10+ yrs experience …

This is happening regardless, the black pill is almost mainstream and that's something I thought would never happen. This sub somehow doesn't understand this. I agree with you, I never thought the blackpill would become so popular. There's now this delusion that people are misremembering their own childhood and acting like blackpill beliefs were very common a decade or decades ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/26 09:17 PM

You're never going to get an honest answer either way. I'm a single man, I wouldn't say I'm not happy but it's clear there is something missing in my life currently. You say that publicly and you'll get a bunch of people calling you needy. So I think a lot of single people internalize that they are happy to avoid this conversation. Happy people merely live on being happy. Idealistic but far from the truth. Maybe you're young but self-promotion wins. Being a quiet, put your head down person and y…

My point is that people who find relationships to be optional aren't going to like dating or be a good boyfriend. The best relationships are people who grow together. All this virtue signaling doesn't change that. I'm self-aware enough to admit that I've grown a lot on my own and because I find a relationship to be optional, I'd probably not be a good boyfriend at this point. Likewise, I wouldn't want to date someone who is so happy to not be in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/26 04:08 PM
14

I've probably "decentered women" and I barely have an interest in the chase anymore. There are some women interested in me but I find being in a relationship to be worse than being single and having freedom. So no, this does not lead to relationships happening lol. The longer you "decenter women" the less likely you will be interested in dating. Also, you'll be out of practice being a boyfriend which is bad. TBH I think there's a lot of delusional thought on the sub, maybe it's virtue signaling …
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/26 12:51 PM

It's a lot of work and tbh I don't enjoy the process of seducing someone anymore. As long as you still enjoy that, you'll be fine.

it's not underrated at all, everywhere I read people blabbering about how happy they are single. you will struggle to buy a house in a lot of metros if you're single. plus you eliminate the chance to have a family in a traditional way and you'll lose out on social opportunities as you get older. being single is good if you are willing to live a non-traditional lifestyle. but the truth is most people are not equipped to do this and are deluding themselves into believing they could.

So online slop narratives. As I said to OP, no wonder AI is taking over. People lack agency these days.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 05:07 PM

Male oppression according to who? People online? TBH I think a lot of y'all get off to reading about men struggling with dating too. It's a symbiotic relationship.

Life isn't risk free. You're saying no to everything so the best solution is to find a guy who is willing to wait until marriage and be celibate until then. Or I guess complain into the void much like the guys who complain about lack of dating do.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 02:47 PM
4

Then take on some risk and ask your boyfriend to wear a condom. Life isn't risk free. People these days lack so much agency, no wonder AI is taking over.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 02:41 PM
5

You can choose to be celibate then. I think it's jealousy honestly I do not think that is the case. But it reads that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 02:33 PM
12

Biological privileges don't matter much anymore. Most people are slobs looking for shortcuts to be in shape rather than eating well and being physically active. From a dating perspective, women do have an advantage but tbh it's become ridiculous the amount of power some of these guys assign to women due to the advantage.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 02:26 PM
5

Life is about phases. In general most people I know want to experience both at the right times. Most people mad about dating didn't experience one, either, or experienced these things at the wrong times of their lives. If you are young, you can change this instead of moaning about it on the Internet. Realize that most complaining about dating are projecting.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/26 05:53 PM
9

I don't think "society" views dating preferences as a big deal, as long as you aren't an asshole about it. the whole concept of having a type is based around dating preferences. dating has turned into an overly intellectualized topic at this point, it's not that deep to most adults because they are coupled.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 01:12 PM
4

I don't think it's that deep, more like a filter for attending a legitimate university. 2 people making $100k isn't going to be enough to buy a house in most metros and pay for private school and pay for childcare anyway. Also it's a way for annoying strivers to brag about their 9-5 income.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/26 01:01 AM

Much more efficient and practical to make everything strictly transactional. No but it's better to have a bunch of acquaintances in life over a few close friends. Obviously a balance of both is good but with limited time it's better to prioritize getting a big friend group.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 12:42 PM
7

Who cares. So worst case you burn a friendship because she says no and it's too weird for you both, neutral case it's awkward for a bit but you still talk to her once in a while. People overvalue friendships so much these days man. It's cringe.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 12:22 PM
3

yes but it's irrelevant anyway. even if you give a woman your number, she's not going to steer the convo in all likelihood.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 08:37 PM
5

Have you ever tried giving a woman your number? yes, how do you think I came to the conclusion that this is a skill most of us need to develop.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 08:32 PM
34

Most women are passive, they expect men to reach out to them and initiate conversation. Some guy in this thread will go on and brag about how he rarely has to initiate but most of us have to. It's a skill you need to develop. when I say initiate I don't mean saying "hi" either. I mean steering the conversation, setting up the date, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 08:15 PM

Nobody cares dude. When I say "society" I mean American society. Not whatever society you're from.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/25 03:32 AM

Singleness should be shamed and psycho-analyzed. Especially in women. It's already happening behind closed doors, I know that as a currently single man. It doesn't bother me, go ahead. But if you judge people and you're deficient in something, don't expect grace. It's why I don't judge people because most people are a bad month or 2 away from being at their lowest point.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/25 01:26 AM
6

In 99% of cases, it's delusion. If you are happy being alone, then you aren't "normal" at all. Honestly though, what is the point in bursting people's bubble? If believing this delusion keeps them sane, then I'll nod along even though I know it's a lie. Delusions are needed to keep society going.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/25 10:42 PM
1

do you believe there are certain baggages someone carries that make them incapable of having a fulfilling relationship or that society should never forgive? I’m curious to hear people’s thoughts. I‘m speaking broadly here, not just about this particular video, it’s just one example I found that prompted this question. You are judged by how far you deviate far from "normal", so yes your pool of dating and friends will be smaller if deviate extremely far. tbh I get it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/25 11:49 PM

agreed. for some reason tho reddit has a ton of former or current sex workers, especially this sub. these guys need to be set up by their friends with another woman who is a shut in instead of trying to be something they are not.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/25 04:50 AM
6

The bar for everything has risen too much for most people. Take romance out of it, the bar for buying a house, getting a good job, forming a community, etc. It isn't sustainable how things are going and the fear I have is it will get worse after the AI bubble pops.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/25 08:54 AM
6

The future involves a collapse of the birth rate curve, a lot of people being shut out of past financially successful paths, and a rise in addictive behaviors from both genders. The coming financial collapse will exacerbate these problems rather than improve upon them too. People talking about male uprisings are delusional, most guys will spend their last few dollars gambling on Kalshi or sports betting. China's "lying flat" movement coming here is way more likely.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/25 08:40 AM

maybe the Twitter location reveal was truly representative and most of the red pill-related Internet traffic is from people outside of America. Because if you live here, there is no scenario outside of having 1% net worth in your 20s or 30s to doing this. I'd argue that even if you are in a quickly developing country it'd be stupid because your COL is only going to rise and you'll need multiple incomes.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/25 11:00 AM

So patriarchy expects women to give her time, her unpaid labor and what not. Women discuss things like household labor inequality etc. Men are stressed or tired, and may not feel like being the sole breadwinner or paying for dates or being expected to be manly or strong 24/7. you know that single people do all of this themselves right? imo people in couples who complain about these things suck at communication or have been pretty sheltered.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/25 05:29 AM
3

I think it also builds general social confidence, which to me is the hardest thing to build for a young man. IMO it's less about sex and more about building that, I didn't even think about sex when I was 13.

they do go outside, but they go out with their friends. go to any restaurant in a big city on a Fri/Sat night and it's mostly women these days.

It depends on what feeds and threads you see but in general, strangers do not care about other strangers. I see tons of low empathy, mean-spirited comments on posts with women talking about dating, the same can be said about men talking about their struggles with dating too. If you mean IRL, women to me are better at discussing their problems compared to men. Men bottle things up forever and become vulnerable after going through years of unhappiness. Shouldn't people also expect women to figure …
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/25 03:28 PM

No, it's because as a man you are supposed to "figure things out." Btw men are ones who perpetuate that more than women IME.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/25 03:05 PM

Reaching your natty limit for bench / squat / deadlift, which should be something like 4 plates / 6 plates / 6 plates for most people. If you hop on gear, you just push your numbers as high as you can. lol ridiculous. That's a 450 Wilks score for someone who is 200 lbs. Probably still 400+ if they are 250 and most people don't carry 250 lbs well unless they are tall.

I don't understand why Internet people obsess over these third spaces. plenty of them exist today. people are struggling to adapt to where things are going, then yearning for a time that didn't even exist. a lot of nights you'd go to bars, clubs, or even more chill social events, nothing major would happen. I highly doubt the Internet people who complain about third spaces could deal with this. The "solution" is to find a group of likeminded friends of both genders. How you do this doesn't matte…

America is very surface-level and competitive. It leads to a lot of people saying "I'm doing fine" because there is a negative connotation with struggling or not meeting certain expectations.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 11:31 AM
3

where are you from? In America, it's not as expected to talk as a man to other women how much dating sucks. Nobody wants to set up a guy with negative opinions on dating. Most of my friends don't have significant problems with dating, maybe it's not perfect but they can find someone. Even they aren't talking to women about "how they can't find anyone" because it's a negative signal. I don't know why i stumble across that and you don't, maybe i'm easier to talk to. We're all bombarded with men who say they have no luck in dating, how it's hard etc. Are you really? Or are you saying you read a bunch of stuff online and say that you're "bombarded" by it. Because at least in my experience, the guys who are struggling with dating don't talk much about it. Especially to women. A lot of guys don't limit much when they are younger but do as they get older, which makes sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 11:04 AM

any time I see a post like this, I'm reminded that the Internet and places like this sub are filled with non-Americans who will talk authoritatively about America and American culture.

they are fine, most people post college and not ancient meet people through them ime. majority of the couples who met IRL I know are high school/college sweethearts.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/25 07:52 AM

Most women post 25 are in relationships. These women who complain about not being approached or being chronically single are no different from the i-words they complain about. and also a lot of these women need to be a little more introspective about why guys aren't approaching them. I don't even make an effort to make friends at the gym and I've made friends there.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/25 01:54 PM

yeah I agree, a lot of unsuccessful people try to moralize their lack of success by portraying themselves as good and the successful as bad. plus successful people do not hang out much with unsuccessful people to begin with. I think that's why you get such divergent experiences because a successful person cannot fathom the lack of success that some people face.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/25 10:46 AM

needing a movement to justify to others that you are "doing your own thing" instead of just doing it normally is a defense mechanism.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/25 01:11 PM

MGTOW / 4B are defense mechanisms for people who were left behind socially. I don't think there's anything wrong with defense mechanisms as long as you aren't lashing out at others but advocating these ideologies to teenagers who have their lives ahead of them and can have normal family lives is wrong. Just because you "went your own way" doesn't mean others should prematurely do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/25 10:10 AM

I don't think it's even that risky for men. you have no clue what you're talking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/25 06:52 AM

because these aren't the same groups of people. Red Pill is an online ideology that peaked 3 years ago. Guys like Andrew Tate probably have negative approval at this point. meanwhile young men (the people who are mostly dating) are broke or don't have a ton of spending money due to COL rises and inflation. so naturally they'd rather split the cost of dates.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/25 06:51 AM

I have no idea, I don't train for aesthetics. If you're interested in that, you have to plan your training and diet and maybe even fashion for that goal. athletic build with 12-15% body fat when people say this, they usually mean: "do my abs pop out" rather than anything related to doing legs (which is what most athletes do).
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 11:49 AM

Like Farhat's 18-month "natural" transformation thanks to "polymorphism". I looked up this dude and his physique is way better than decent. If that is what you view as "decent" your mind is warped by social media.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 07:55 AM

You need at least 3-5 years to build a decent physique. This is what I mean, it does not take you 3-5 years to build a decent physique. Way shorter timeframe with the right training.

We all have access to basically all of humanity's knowledge for free. getting all of the information isn't hard but filtering and determining what is useful is. There are only so many hours in a day so you need to figure out an efficient way of consuming only the information that is relevant to your situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 06:32 AM
2

It isn't practical. Tons of people go to the gym, go to trainers at the gym, and don't get the results they want. There is massive information asymmetry in the world. Bridging that gap when you are young is how you succeed.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 06:10 AM

99% of advice isn't actionable. People tell you to "study X subject" but they don't tell you how to study it. People tell you to "go to the gym" but don't tell you what training splits/diet etc. Blaming women for this is stupid and counterproductive, I've gotten a lot of dumb advice from men (probably more). Instead surround yourself with men and women who DO give you good advice. Wisdom of the crowd is for idiots.

you have the right thinking in the sense that you as a man can always do better. People online though have the mentality of contrarians who will parse the exact wording to not understand the general idea of what you're saying, so they'll discredit everything said here. Maybe you won't be in "excellent" shape but you can be in better shape. Maybe you won't be the life of the party but you can find people who are similar to you and you vibe with. /r/PurplePillDebate02/09/25 06:47 PM

build up these skills genuinely asking, what are "these skills"? I think personality is set in stone after you're a teenager so to me if you're largely introverted you should be trying to get set up with another introvert.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/25 06:33 PM

picking up social skills some people are gregarious and like doing stuff outside, and others aren't and prefer doing introverted/digital activities. the population in the latter is growing and will continue to grow. my point is a mildly autistic person might actually fit this largely digital person's lifestyle better. many people online especially lament social interaction and yet want someone who is social.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/25 06:21 PM

Not autistic but I kinda agree. A lot of people talk so much about "social skills" but more people than ever are introverts who barely go out. What is the benefit having "social skills" if you aren't social? it's like all the people online who complain about booze being down when nothing is stopping you from going out with friends and having drinks.

no, they find it low class and pathetic. women you'd want to date aren't jealous of guys who go to a 3rd world country to find a wife, this is all made up in your head. especially younger women.

well I'm not bipolar lol. I went to therapy because I was in a bit of a rut at school and burnt out. Normal teenage stuff but I could've been ruined if I hopped on ADHD drugs that would've kept me up all night.

ADHD-related drugs, I don't remember the names. I tried using them for a few weeks but I couldn't sleep at night. Maybe I was and am a bit overactive but I've found that I can focus if I'm interested in the work I'm doing. Taking drugs that ruin your sleep are never worth it.

All I got as a teenager was an IQ test and a dismissive old guy who talked shit about me to my parents. My parents saw through it thankfully. He didn't diagnose me with any mental illness because I don't have anything. Pushed hard for me to get on drugs which I didn't *want to take.

no need to lift weights, better to do calisthenics if all you care about is aesthetics. skincare to me is useless but I've never had to deal with acne. hobbies are dumb unless you enjoy them. best advice is to make friends with a couple of social single guys. the rest will sort itself out after that.

you guys complain about American regardless. I'm a liberal, been on the Internet for a long time, and that's what many Aussies/Euros/Canadians do. nah a Reddit opinion is complaining about America as a non-American. as I said, if fewer non-Americans weighed in on American politics behind sock puppet accounts on Twitter/Reddit/other social media, it'd be a net positive for the country. so maybe age verification checks should be expanded. so many alt right posters have been outed as non-American.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/25 06:13 AM

"age verification" checks are step 1 of exactly that lol. Honestly the Internet is filled with too many non-Americans weighing in on America these days so maybe it'll improve content.

posts like this are similar to the men who believe in MGTOW. I think a lot of people have been broken by modern society and seek to validate their own state of being through believing stuff like this. I don't have kids though, not interested in having kids now, but I can acknowledge there's a lot of benefits to having kids.

Tons of people out there are in relationships with partners they are not (really) attracted to because of comfort, (financial) security, tradition, emotional support, utility etc. yeah, this is obvious to me yet current married people believe they have reinvented thousands of years of humanity where marriages were unions between families.

you're discussing a fantasy that most under 25 men won't even be able to reach. your job prospects are going to suck and you will have a harder time buying a house unless you have 2 solid incomes + extensive savings. so be glad that women aren't going to date you for money and quit worrying about women wanting you for your money. it's cringe at this point.

guys who say things like this usually aren't in the West. Big issue with the Internet now, you get people from conservative countries saying this is how "men" and "women" are and confusing young people with little to no experience. either that or they are basing their life on ragebait they read online.

depends on how old you are but dating apps and meeting friends of friends is the way to go. if you're still in college, then you have more opportunities to be social. ignore advice related to using Meetup or going to random events. also never do this shit alone, go with a friend or a small group of friends. if your friends aren't social, then find ones who are social.

That forecast exists because people delay having kids now, so the % is heavily weighted toward younger people. but eventually people have kids and get married. I can't fully disagree, I took a break from dating then when I restarted I get asked strange, terminally online questions from normal people. Red pill, obsessions with height, all of these strange, niche opinions end up becoming more mainstream through algorithm amplification. Even something like "maxxing" I hear everywhere. It's scary, I can't think of a time when the Internet had so much power over people's opinions.

You're not wrong but the problem is being accomplished has become harder. People in the comments and online will complain about the standards but you have only two options: become as competitive as possible or quit. Occam’s razor would say they’re scoring you based on how people swipe on you. Occam's razor tells me they take both into consideration but we'll never know. It makes sense to me that you are penalized when someone doesn't swipe right on you when you swipe right on them. Swiping right a lot more might not explicitly cause your ELO score to tank but it could lead to more opportunities where you get swiped left and dropping your score.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/25 01:17 AM

This is something people on Reddit say, but I’ve never seen anyone produce evidence of it. It feels more like an urban legend. We can only speculate, but ELO could be partially based on how many mutual right swipes you get. Also if someone high on the ELO algorithm swipes right on you, I assume you'll see a bigger boost vs. someone low on the ELO algorithm. So I can see the logic that your ELO is lower if you swipe right 1000 times and only get a mutual swipe right 10 times out of that 1000 and …

you should look into scammers and people who are really good at that MLM stuff. they're taking advantage of desperate and naive people. and regardless even in these MLM schemes a very, very small % of people accrue massive commissions. reality is even an above-average salesmen is dependent on the product and market, it's an industry propagated on selling a dream even to people who want to join.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/25 12:51 AM

the best salesmen in terms of commission usually sell the best products in the right market. They are heavily dependent on this and it's why sales is a brutal industry. There is no "hack" to being a successful salesman outside of optimizing the right market and product.

Plus a ton of young lonely men aren’t going to affect society? I highly doubt that. They probably won't because the problem isn't as expansive as you might think, most people still get married but on a slightly delayed timeline. /r/PurplePillDebate17/06/25 08:24 PM

Eh I'm not terminally online but I'll let that go. You can use makeup if you want and you can use AI to digitally enhance your photos. What is stopping you (and other men) is social shame. I'm not personally into it but I think it'll become more popular as time goes on. Not sure why you're trying to look attractive at work, I'm talking about enhancing a couple of pics in a dating profile.

/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/25 08:11 PM

I think it's a bit more complicated than that. Redditors default to turn everything into a market assessment (someone is "better" if they make more money, get more matches, etc). Also, it's conventional wisdom now that "most" men are ugly.

Masculinity as discussed online is an aesthetic at this point aimed at the female gaze. So by that logic, there are more men in "America and Northern Europe" that are considered aesthetically attractive compared to people in 3rd world countries. It says nothing about what masculinity is to me: bravery, toughness, and decisiveness. The average man in the West doesn't have this, nor will he ever because he lives in a comfortable society.

If you have to get wasted to have sex, this might be your own problem. who said anything about being wasted. The easiest way to speed run a friendship or relationship is to go on an "adventure" of some kind with someone. Biologically girls mature faster than boys. For other aspects, maturity is defined by passing societal indicators at the age-appropriate time. A "mature man" in society is one who has a stable job, follows the law, has a family, and maybe owns a house. Even that last standard is being written out because of housing inflation. The point is that it's not defined by anything philosophical but popular culture. I don't know if women have these same standards or if they are different. But even a 40 ye…

feeding into people's despair is evil to me. I'd never tell someone (even a stranger) that they should give up. American society is centered around having a family. I don't think it's a problem being single, I enjoy it too, but you are living in a suboptimal way by doing so. I also think that most people would benefit from having a family vs. being alone. but do what you want. I don't know what can be done at this point in terms of regulations that are realistic. All I'm saying is a Rubicon has been crossed and life is going to be different going forward. A lot of parents won't be saying "live and let live" when their kids are addicted to AI bots and they are priced out of a lot of IRL experiences that used to be cheaper. AI bots have the potential to be way more addictive than social media.

Why do we need to decide their course of action in life? We aren't even using tax dollars on AI gfs and they are paying for themselves, not hurting anybody else. well you and others will say this until it makes your life sterile. the inevitable conclusion of immersive AI is every IRL experience will become more expensive meaning most people will default to using AI experiences because it will be cheaper and subsidized by big tech companies, who can burn billions in R&D and still make a profit.

I'm sorry but this is an inevitability for a lot of men and women. The scale is hard to define but millions already treat ChatGPT or other LLM clients like a friend or therapist now and the technology isn't even great yet. It might seem crazy and I think it's crazy too but it will only become more mainstream. Fact is that every tech giant is invested in making these LLM clients as immersive as possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/25 07:28 AM

Why do we require people to first demonstrate they are capable of something that is bad, before we allow them to have an opinion on what the right course of action is? because the average online person crafts a hypothetical alternative reality instead of talking about their own experiences IRL. it's why ChatGPT has become the personal therapist for so many.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 02:29 PM

yet despite normalization now so many people go to the gym every day and still remain subpar or fat both statements can be true. more people go to the gym, leading to a top end of people who are in better shape. while there are also more people who are fat, some of whom go to the gym and most don't. you can see it not just in the faces but just everything in the media and culture convinced this has to do with hydration
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 06:22 PM

you don't need resources or tech to be in good shape lol. There's always going to be lucky people who have the right circumstances to live the dream, but the rest of us do actually have to ensure that we don't make mistakes and fall through the cracks. We don't get do-overs or charity. Yes. Also, a lot of successful people mislead by pretending they do things on a whim when this isn't the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 11:16 PM

But thinking strategically about what's important to you in a society where what you want is increasingly scarce is just common sense. If you live in America, you need to plan out your life from a much younger age than before. A lot of folks don't realize the damage that can be done just going with the flow until they are old.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 10:56 PM

Successful people are strategic. Losers call it "autism" because they think they can go with the flow and be successful when they aren't. The vast majority of the people I know who are actually successful have planned a lot of their life out. Not saying you need to view everything through a logical lens but people for example plan out when they are going to move in, when they want to have kids, when they want to get married.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 10:42 PM

As for long-term internal effects of processed or sugary shit I don't know, but if you're active and don't overdo it I don't think excess fat storage will be a problem. yeah maybe. I'm not eating full cakes and pies, but I do eat candy and processed food to get to my maintenance calories.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/25 07:55 AM

none of this has fucked with my gains tbh. what will fuck with your gains is if you do dumb shit like paleo or keto. I think diet is a really overrated thing people worry about. tbh the people obsessed with all these strange diets are usually the laziest people when it comes to working out so their joints are probably fucked.

95-99% of people don't get to choose much in life. Goes for college admissions or job hunting or dating or social opportunities. They get a couple of options and basically need to not fuck that path up. Compatibility is important but for most it's a relative measure between the options you have (applies to job hunting too). There are a select few who get a bunch of options and they are overrepresented in social media. If you view yourself as one of those people when you aren't, you're in for a b…

If he thinks she's only going to dream about Tyrone's BBC while she's with him, that's a red flag. A strange and over-exaggerated point made here. My point is that nobody needs to accept someone for their past life decisions out of peer pressure from people online. IRL people match with other people with similar backgrounds and life experiences and nobody cares. Even situations like interfaith marriages can fall apart because of mismatches but to perpetually online people it's a "red flag" if yo…

you guys love using words like "red flag" or "insecurity" when it's a man looking for someone with similar life experiences. again, I know plenty of women who aren't interested in guys who have dated around or are known to be players. likewise people who have dated around aren't looking to date people who have barely dated.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/25 09:46 PM

it's a lifestyle and experiences mismatch. someone who has been promiscuous will fit with another person who was promiscuous. not an exclusively male thing either, plenty of women I know privately shame promiscuous men.

plenty of third places exist already, online and in person. the problem is the growing number of people who are single past 25, people are less open to making new connections as they get older.

stop thinking of yourself as a loser. the problem is likely that the environment you're in doesn't take advantage of your strengths. try to change your environment even in small ways. it's less about "winning" and more about finding a way to survive.

Well-adjusted people have families and support systems. As you get older your friends are going to be more interested in raising their families over hanging with you. My "advice" is for people to try as many things as they can to be social. Better than accepting their situation like a lot of people online do nowadays. If you can't be social, at least work a job that is time consuming and involves social interactions.

nobody is telling you to be constantly connected outside of social media platforms that benefit from constant engagement. if you can't figure out the balance, that's a problem you need to figure out yourself.

It's not hopeful at all. If self-improvement leads to people meeting others and engaging in the human experience, then they should do it. Engaging in hobbies once a week or whenever people have time off work isn't going to cut it. Advocating people to "go their own way" is leading people down a path of mental illness.

the urge people have in today's society to say nihilistic nonsense is crazy to me. sometimes I wonder if it's bots rather than being trying to rationalize isolation. Because there is no healthy person who believes that "accepting" isolation is good.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/25 05:20 PM

The problem is that vast majority of even rich people make their money when they are on the older side. You have to be rich, young, and have some "status" associated with your work if you are going to lead purely with finances and career. But you can't also be a bum. So while there are some diminishing returns, it does matter a bit and having a good livelihood gets your foot in the door. Which to me is a good thing, you want someone to like you for more than your money.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/25 02:40 AM

Most young people aren't overweight, simply being skinny doesn't mean you are 7.5 lol. also are you talking to these stranger beautiful people on Friday and Saturday nights about something specific and personal like this? anyway whatever we're getting into semantics at this point so we'll go in circles.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/25 03:07 AM
2

this is what I mean, you know a ton of women who are a 7.5? unless you work in a fashion industry or Hollywood, the odds of this being the case are low. or maybe you are talking about social media, which tbh I don't really put a lot of value in.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/25 03:00 AM

This entire situation reads like a romcom, when the average guys I know aren't trying to date stunners and often don't. Super attractive women tell you what your league is in high school or at the latest college and most average guys don't pursue them. TBH this feels like a post to paint guys as something they aren't lol. The problem is everyone thinks they are a 7 or 7.5 in every aspect of their life, skewing this entire conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/25 02:54 AM
1

looks can be deceiving for anything leg related, but his upper body looked very underdeveloped. I think a lot of people who don't lift get obsessive about abs when that's mostly a diet thing rather than a lifting thing. Idc about having a 6 pack myself because I like eating and don't want to cut as I try to get stronger. If you want the crazy definition (<10%) you need to commit to eating very cleanly or use PEDs.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/25 02:37 AM
1

he isn't built nor does he have "lots of muscle." I assume his body fat in the 1st photo is 20-25% too. if a person needs 5x a week to look like that, they need to rethink their diet and training big time.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 09:16 PM

I'm gonna stop critiquing male physique but looking at his chest and arms, I doubt it lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 07:38 PM

no way the guy on the left can bench 255-270 (say he's between 170-180). Squat 2x I doubt as well, deadlift 2x sure. Bench 1x your BW, squat 1.5x your BW are achievable extremely quickly (<6 months). Don't even need a great fitness base.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 06:47 PM
1

That’s like a 5x a week in the gym physique imo. not at all. 5x a week of focused training and proper diet you should look pretty big. guy on the left probably fucks around at the gym and does random exercises with no plan.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 06:42 PM
1

I can guarantee you it takes YEARS of gym for a normal man to get the muscles he has in the right pic No it doesn't. This sort of misinformation keeps people out of the gym lol. A lot of people conflate being shredded with being strong. They are in many ways opposing goals but it does not take a long time to be as strong or muscular as the guy on the right.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 05:46 PM
-1

any guy who isn't fat can attain the physique on the left within months and can maintain it by doing something athletic once a week. tbh I don't even think you need to go to the gym to look like the guy on the left. calling that "working out" is a stretch but I guess the bar really is that low.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 05:32 PM
3

the left is seen as safer because the right triggers some insecurity in terms of future diet and working out habits. People LARP online that they eat clean and work out a ton but they don't. A guy walking around <10% means dietary restrictions and a super health conscious lifestyle and/or PEDs. The ideal isn't the right but it's closer to the right than the left. Probably somewhere between 10-15% body fat.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 05:08 PM

any Sociology PhD at a solid program needed to score pretty well on the GRE. If you do any ML/AI adjacent research (many non-STEM PhDs are at this point) you have a good understanding of Linear Algebra. Again my point is both groups of people are at extremes, a Math/CS autist is just at a further extreme.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/25 03:29 PM

lol this is like comparing an extreme to an even greater extreme. A sociology PhD from a solid program is smarter than the vast, vast majority of college grads and college grads aren't even the majority in America. you're just bragging at this point dude. Pattern matching and memory are major parts of IQ tests. /r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 06:00 PM

there is no such thing as a "perfect IQ test" in the first place. Having taken IQ tests, standardized tests, and working in a field where interviews are pretty much IQ tests, it can all be studied for but there are limits on how well you can do too.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 05:52 PM

some rich women there's a difference between a small group of women doing something like this and it being a mainstream belief system among the masses. this is a rationalization for the current world we live in that is obsessed with genetic traits. Stuff like IQ, "face card" and height are discussed and asked about a lot. it's over the top at this point. I'm a very cynical person and even was growing up but the way things have spiraled is beyond what I thought would happen. You can call it obvious, but it really isn't obvious. /r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 04:56 PM

It is devastating no linger to be able to do a thing that you did in your youth when you are older. Most people are glued to their devices nowadays anyway and live longer because of better drugs. If you mean working out to have a better QOL when you're older, you don't need to do much.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/25 06:29 AM

process doesn't suck to me, working toward a PR has always been fun. if it's a sport, trying to finish better than you do is fun too.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/25 05:34 AM

you should workout because you enjoy it. working out to be "conventionally attractive" isn't worth it because the bar is stupidly high. if you want the conventional attractive look you need to control your diet significantly, work out a ton, and at that point you'll be incompatible with most people's lifestyles.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/25 04:37 AM

most people look good enough to date. you're baiting people on this thread at this point. the pills are negative reinforcing and not good for people mentally.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/25 09:58 AM

no those pills are like religion, people believe in them because they want an explanation for how their life is.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/25 09:37 AM

Most men don't need "feedback" on how they look. You know how attractive you are by the time you finish high school and at the latest college. Don't count parents or grandparents calling you handsome.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/25 06:55 AM

because for the majority of people (not childfree Reddit), a major aspect of being in a relationship is getting married and having kids. plus older women will have higher financial standards than younger women. I assume a lot of the red pill guys have kids or want to have kids eventually, even Andrew Tate does.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/25 11:24 AM
2

the way you fix "distractible" kids is you either give them less work and hope they are self-motivated to learn or drown them in work and force them to meet more deadlines. The former will create a few, incredible kids and a lot of kids who give up. While the latter creates a lot of uncreative worker drones.

There are tons of other ways to meet people where men are more at an advantage such as hobby groups, community events, singles events, and run clubs. Sounds like a bunch of ways to meet either nerds or old people. Dating apps allow you to meet people your own age outside of your friend group.

Modern culture went too far with "everyone is amazing" and now things have become too deterministic, especially looks or intellect, in response. Things used to be more subjective IMO. For example, there's greater obsession with IQ or SAT score in terms of intellect, when these aren't the end all metrics for how smart someone is. Same with height or "face card." But I agree we all know who is considered attractive when we're in high school.

Once you get above the age of 20 without any or much experience, it makes sense that women won't be interested in you. this is obvious to anyone who isn't isolated and lives in a Western country. problem is the Internet is filled with a lot of people who are isolated and live in countries with vastly different cultures from places like Europe/America. How do you solve this discrepancy in experience? Men should try their best to get with younger women. Unless you are talking 2-3 years difference …

Basically every woman I know is: actively dating, in a relationship, engaged, or married. So no, they are not single for long periods of time and want to be in relationships. A lot of you guys need to actually go your own way and stop trying to convince others to join your ideology. This is getting to a point on this sub where it feels like cult recruitment and I feel like for all the talk of decentering relationships you are on a sub that discusses relationships a lot.

I don’t think men understand how liberating it is to say “I’m not dating at the moment, I’m working on myself right now.” It's a procrastination mindset, a lot of people don't even understand how to improve their situation. Plus you can improve yourself while also trying to date people. I believe in trying to do a lot of things at once though and I think it's important to have a specific goal in mind when trying to achieve something even if it's abstract.

Prioritising something doesn’t mean building your entire identity around it. That’s the line I’m drawing. Again, exaggerated extreme. My point is men SHOULD prioritize trying to be in a relationship if that is what they desire. I'd argue they should have some urgency as well, starting from when they are in college. All of this would lead to the goal being top of mind. Hiding behind "nuance" is dodging the essence of what your point is and what it implies men should do. Anyway I'm not going to ar…

Wanting a relationship is fine. Prioritising one at certain points in life is fine. Prioritization involves centering your life around achieving something as I said. The goal isn't to live without connection it's to stop clinging to it like a life raft. Exactly as I said, your points only make sense if you take it to an exaggerated poin…

That’s not virtue signaling—it’s a mindset shift. No one’s saying ‘don’t date ever.’ The point is to stop treating relationships as the centrepiece of your life or self-worth. To the average person it is an important part of their life. You are cutting off your social life by not pursuing something hard that most of your peers will pursue. If you don't like doing those hobbies, forcing yourself to do them is not going to help. My point is that a lot of people do hobbies to meet people not because they enjoy, like, or are any good at the activity. The meeting part is what brings people to do these things and as long as they can meet enough people in the process they'll keep showing up. If we asked the average person what they truly liked doing it'd be watching Netflix/watching sports/scrolling social media.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/25 12:31 PM

There aren't a ton of mixed gender hobbies that are popular enough (meet enough people) and involve consistent in-person meetings, so it isn't that subjective. Those are the types of hobbies that people who are interested in meeting people should do and I think a lot of people do these things to meet people instead of trying to enjoy the activity itself. Not how I'd spend my time personally, I like doing stuff because I'm trying to get better at it.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/25 12:16 PM

The thing about hobbies is that you have to actually like the hobbies. If you force yourself to do a hobby to attract a woman, you will be miserable and push away any woman. Hobbies, at least the ones that are respected, are a way of seeming well-rounded or interesting for most people rather than getting good at something. So in that context I understand why people use hobbies to meet others. Not why I do the things I do but pretty common in my experience. There's so many people I know tangentia…

"average" is within 1 standard deviation of people with your socioeconomic background in your country. It's really that simple. People make it "average" on aggregate because many view themselves as future rich people (where this 6 figure requirement gets repeated when not many dating age people make 6 figures) and also don't like to view themselves as below average.

there is nothing to be done to "fix" the situation, population will eventually decline a bit, the economy will contract a bit, and the next generation will survive on a lower population base. we can't and shouldn't force people to be in relationships if they don't want to be in them.

People care about mens issues, mental health, suicide rates and help for fathers. Not really though. I think a lot of people care about "men" in the context of self-interest (society collapsing, tax receipts going down, less kids, etc.). There's a reason why men in America have pivoted so hard toward the Republican Party when many members push nihilism. Like the commenter above said, you gain nothing complaining as a man. Even your friends will get tired of you at a certain point.

WW2 vets ofc had honor but the majority were forced to fight, if social media existed then many men would've complained too and it'd be hard to blame them. Nowadays the vets who face the most war are highly trained special forces who choose this lifestyle. Choosing to focus on chivalry alone and not the overarching take is almost an intentional obfuscation. The women b…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 05:12 PM

We’d never get a response to a world war like we did a century ago. That’s all the proof you need. No, your point was that people were serving in WW2 out of chivalry. I corrected you that the majority of them were forced to fight through the draft and many of the ones who volunteered didn't have a lot of great economic options either. If that counts as chivalry then I don't understand your point at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 04:53 PM

wars used to be fought by young, uneducated men, many of whom were forced to fight. now they are fought by trained professionals and machines. funny how when given the choice to fight, a lot of people choose not to.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 04:41 PM

romanticized nonsense. people in the West have always been selfish. the Internet has only exposed people's inner thoughts.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 04:32 PM

It’s funny to see people lament the termination of the social contract there is no termination of the social contract. you're talking about unhappy people who have opted out of dating and are overrepresented online.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 04:23 PM

nope. men who prioritize finding a woman to grow with early on are the ones that win. doesn't mean you get married at 22 but all the successful relationships I know are people who met in high school/college/early career and have stuck together. At that point it isn't a numbers game as much as it will be in the future.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/25 03:47 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/25 05:33 PM

you need to realize that a lot of men deal with age by believing comments like the ones you are responding to. That's why a lot of men will stop using common sense and default to outliers. I say this as a man btw, so I'm not biased here.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/25 02:18 PM

yeah, outside of this sub and people from non-Western societies, I've never hear this idea that a woman in her early 30s is undesirable or has a shortage of options.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/25 01:49 PM
7

men at 30 are less desirable than women at 30 much like men at 40 are less desirable than women at 40. people view their lives through exceptions.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/25 01:09 PM

there is no matriarchy. Look at who runs America, it's mostly 50+ year old men. Feminists sometimes go too far with their rhetoric for sure but they onto something. plus they ignore the impact of our system on young men but that is understandable, young men need to stand up for ourselves. btw I don't think "men hate other men" but rather "old and successful men hate young men."
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/25 12:10 PM
9

it absolutely does bro. Look beyond gender wars.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/25 11:56 AM
9

the patriarchy is geriatric and power-hungry older people doing whatever allows them to keep their wealth and live as long as possible. I'd argue they impact young men and women in different ways. end of the day, there is no dismantling of the patriarchy because it's the system in the West, most will choose safety over potential chaos which is fair.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/25 11:54 AM

no you wouldn't lol
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/25 07:56 AM

the commonality of modern loneliness between men and women is being single. a lot of women virtue signal about how friendships can replace this but lacking a family past a certain age will shut you out of social settings. men nowadays are more honest about it even though ironically being a single man is seen as more of a loser marker than being a single woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/25 05:39 AM

women do care about male body count lol. don't openly say you've slept with 50+ women.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/25 11:50 AM

lol we're getting married I guess. don't like being put under pressure like that but if that's the only way, then so be it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 12:53 AM

yeah, gold digger fears are overblown.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 12:39 AM

not worth it, i'd get lowballed on the private market. also don't need the cash tbh. very few private companies (Stripe, OpenAI) have the liquidity where you can sell at a good price.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 11:59 PM

it's not a stupid argument. most people are "millionaires" based on illiquid assets including something like real estate. It's not as if I'm cash broke and have $1m in startup options, just saying that a portion of my net worth is in that. Net worth in general is stupid but that's what many people mean when they say they are millionaires.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 11:48 PM

prob not many liquid millionaires. I might be a "millionaire" on paper but a solid portion is tied up in startup options. when the tech bubble pops who knows how much that stuff will be worth.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 11:44 PM

imo it's stupid to downplay your career. people can figure out how much you make online pretty easily too and it's unlikely someone can gold dig unless you make high 6/low 7 figures.

it could be worth dividing the shy guy hypothesis in to two subtypes "late bloomer shy guys" maybe, idk ,and "mentally ill blocked shy guys". The problem is people won't care. That's the sad thing about this, there are so many people who have a lot to offer socially but never get the chance due to a bunch of factors. Anyway enough negativity, do the best you can and have fun.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 10:28 PM
7

The issue with some of these "shy guys " might be more like "serious mental issues and basically holding it together ", but that's my bias view I don't know about serious mental issues. I think a lot of people don't have friends who put them in positions to succeed. If you are shy you need someone who is going to help you be more social. Friendship at times can be overrated if your friends are keeping you around to be the same person you were in the past, say you were shy when you met them and y…

being shy can be seen as "cute" when you're young but will be seen as "cowardly" when you are older. irony is a lot of these love shy guys who are married will act like they were super charismatic when they were dorks. look at some of the comments people post online, long "dear diary" posts and you're telling me these guys were cool lol? long story short, you need to learn to be assertive as you get older if you want to succeed in general, especially if you want to date.

these guys need to find someone early in adulthood (18-23), there is no solution outside of getting lucky as you get older.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 06:47 PM

Also consider this - you never "feel" like an adult you just feel like a kid who now has to act like an adult. You cannot "feel" like a kid and succeed as an adult. You have responsibilities and people expect you to have specific experiences as you get older. People are altruistic far more often than they are selfish, and people can learn new things at all walks of life. I disagree that people are altruistic more than selfish, at best you'll get an opportunity to sink or swim. If you don't know …

And you know what? Playing with them is literally how you get better,, and no the experienced players, unless they're absolute jackasses, won't purposefully go hard on you for no reason. People are self-interested. There is no reason for the rest of the experienced players to get the guy who is an amateur up to speed. There's no reason for them to pick him in future pick up games either. I'm not saying this guy should give up in this hypothetical situation but be realistic. Lacking experience co…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 11:27 AM

this is obviously true but people will virtue signal and say it isn't. much like how if you fuck up college the odds of you getting a high paying job in the future are lower. that said, stop obsessing over the past. have fun and don't sweat making "mistakes" in dating or life.

I learn from my experiences over Reddit. Reddit is over-intellectualized, wordy crap but a great way to pass the time. Maybe it's my own biases but I'm distrustful of anyone who writes long paragraphs to say what they want to say.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/25 10:55 PM

because most people aren't successful so they don't know what actually works. at least your gut is your inner voice, so if you fail it's on your own terms.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 12:25 PM

it's something people say but don't do. if you trusted your gut you wouldn't ask for advice much, especially because most advice sucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 12:22 PM

I'm being serious. "general advice" should be ignored. trust your gut more.

Something is better than nothing in most cases. Few people who anchor decisions on happiness end up being happy, it's a moving target and what you value changes as you get older.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/25 01:37 AM
2

I can understand having this perspective if you are a teenager or if you feel pressured into sex by someone, but by the time you are in your mid-20s it is going to be a massive detriment if you are dating around. Your social experiences at some point become incongruent with 95-99% of people you are trying to date.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 11:19 PM

It would help someone who couldn't even be friends with someone they're attracted to if they tried. If you can treat someone you're attracted to like a human being, it greatly increases the odds of you being able to get along with them on a basic level. They are totally different skills. If you need help treating people "like a human being" I'm not sure where this person even should start.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/25 09:03 PM

it takes very little skill to make friends. It's about having shared experiences and then putting in time with a person you connect with. There isn't much of a difference between befriending a man or woman as a man too, the shared experiences might be different but it's not complicated. Men and women are not befriending "each other in unique ways" and you don't need to grow up around women to befriend women either. Regardless none of this will help you in romantically attracting a woman, unless …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/25 07:53 PM

dunno if it's a uniquely American thing, but it's more a socially uncalibrated response. That's the problem with online interactions now, you have a bunch of people who don't know how to communicate in a human way, they will try to "out logic" you instead of trying to get to the essence of the point here. I think it's more common in any Western country because you can be socially uncalibrated online without much repercussion. I agree that America has a less communal vibe than most other societie…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 05:12 PM

I wouldn't be worrying about who to feel more upset toward...probably be in a real dark place and move. I know a couple of guys who have almost been in these situations and they never recovered mentally even though the situations got resolved.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 03:39 PM

Because it's unsustainable. Going on dates, eating out, and going out will make the ability to maintain a certain body fat % or maintain a specific look hard. If the guy is training 4 days a week, eating enough protein, and training properly he is doing more than a massive % of people. You can get good enough results within months at that frequency.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 02:54 PM

But is your body fat percentage in a good place? Are your muscles balanced and aesthetic? Do you need to go 6 days a week instead? This is all overkill lol. The guy needs to look in different places if we're reaching this level of fitness training.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 02:47 PM

dating apps work fine for plenty of people, probably the most common way people meet nowadays. the people leaving them are the ones who don't know how to use them properly. not as if the guys who struggle on dating apps will all of a sudden do ok if they were banned either.

This "extremely attractive, outgoing, charismatic 22 year old guy" virgin is a huge outlier to me. Maybe it exists among young people these days but it doesn't make sense because the vast majority of guys are spoonfed their first sexual experiences since some girl likes them. That's what creates confidence/charisma/outgoing emotions toward trying to meet women, you don't get that you won't be confident. The reason why some young men don't have those experiences in their youth is based on whateve…

This activism era is over, this post would make sense in 2013. I'm surprised that people on this sub who seem to be online can't see this, but men are and will become more apathetic in Western countries toward stranger men, stranger women, and "society" for the time being. I don't think it's a good thing fwiw but the culture shift over the last few years and especially last few months in America has been massive. Even some of my most optimistic friends have become deeply pessimistic about things…

Going to the gym properly is lifting 3-5x a week, eating 0.8g of protein per pound daily, limiting daily fat intake, drinking a ton of water, no alcohol, no drugs lol. Having an amazing personality starts with being an extrovert who is willing to put himself out there unprompted, many people aren't that and need some help from their friends. Professional OLD photos, all you need is a couple of normal photos of you doing stuff that you enjoy. If anything, I've learnt that people overestimate them…

most don't do the stuff you're saying and figure it out. this idea that there's a lot of people with amazing personalities, in shape, and getting professional OLD photos is hilarious to me. if you need to do all of these things just to get attention from women then maybe you're searching in the wrong places. Socialization sure but even then, people are socializing less and less as the years go on because of tech.

I'm saying 25 vs. 35, what percentage of guys are virgins at 25 vs. virgins at 35? It's two tiny percentages. It's a problem in the sense that you are in the minority at 22. Keep in mind that most guys don't go to college either and even so most guys aren't virgins at 22.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 05:56 PM

25 year old Virgin may just be too focused on studies and broke student to date I went to very academically challenging schools and plenty of people had sex. At best, it's a time management thing at that point.

exactly, virgin past 22 or so and it's going to be a problem for a guy. that said, if you are virgin at 25 vs. 35 I don't see much of a difference, you're behind by a lot in both cases.

Some young men struggle because of competition. Competition if you don't win makes you feel defeated. You can keep believing that "internet opinions" are more powerful than competition but you will be wrong, competition is what shapes the world around us. Also most young men aren't as socially awkward as you're implying. This is the real problem with the Internet, an inability to analyze an issue without going to extremes.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 01:21 PM

of course. girls who date these supposed "Chads" aren't on Reddit lol
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 10:41 PM

lol
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 10:36 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/25 07:43 PM
3

Not the case in my experience. In fact, I'd say the guys in "romantic exile" (not in a relationship for say 2+ years) are pretty much out of the picture romantically and need luck to find someone. This is the case in America at least.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/25 04:48 PM

That's fine, I don't think people need to have kids either. But you will be more isolated as you get older. Some people can live with that, most cannot and delude themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/25 04:19 PM

There is no "they" and "us". You are on your own in life and only need to find a couple of women who are interested in you. If you're not interested in dating, then I'd argue it's better to immerse yourself in work but find work that is actually meaningful and that you are good at. What community? The community of having a family and meeting other families.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/25 04:14 PM

let's be honest. most men do not have this meaningful life that they dream of. their biggest accomplishments are being part of a community, having kids, and being a husband. that is fine BTW but I'd argue that what I said is better than even being a white collar millionaire with a boring desk job.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/25 04:07 PM

there is no guarantee you will have a well-paying job in this scenario to purchase a house or pay off a mortgage. billionaires lose money on paper, first thing they'll do is cut labor costs through outsourcing. you will not win in a global economy as an ordinary person and things will not get easier financially. maybe you'll be happier but that's a different question.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/25 04:18 AM

stocks and RE being worth less is bad for everyone. no guarantee that ordinary people will have the money to buy these "cheaper" assets because they might not have jobs. Life never gets easier for ordinary people in a global economy.

it will mean that a lot of assets will be worth less on paper. outside of that, I don't think declining birth rates is a negative or a positive *over a long enough timeline. The one issue is there will be fewer young people and a higher proportion of older people meaning the working force will be much smaller. China is going through that demographic collapse right now but things will evolve and reach equilibrium imo.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/25 12:12 AM

there are low birth rates pretty much everywhere now. what I'm saying is about Western countries, China fucked their demographics with the 1 child policy and I don't know enough about what's happening in Russia or Bangladesh.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/25 02:00 AM

people will complain about their financial state regardless of how good or bad the economy is. lots of women (and men) don't want to admit they don't want to be a parent so they default to "the economy sucks."

You can't take studies at face value. You need to see how "high IQ" is defined, how they measure IQ, and the h-index (credibility) of the authors. It's a lot more complicated and social science studies are filled with BS conclusions.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/25 02:41 PM

Lots of men have high IQs and good social skills. I would imagine those men do the best when it comes to dating. How can a lot of men be proficient in something that can be explained using a bell curve? By definition there aren't a lot of men with high IQs. So again it comes down to what you define "high" as. Regardless if you have a high IQ you are put in a tiny bubble from a young age and it stunts your social skills compared to others. You also interact with the same sort of people for years.…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/25 02:32 PM

depends on how high, but if your IQ is a lot higher than the average (by 2+ standard deviations) it's an obvious detriment when it comes to socializing.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/25 02:16 PM
13

Old people got married in their early 20s, people get married later now. At least in America, your social circles get smaller and smaller as you get older especially after high school and college. Besides that, people move a lot more now so your social circle could be scattered across the country. The point is circumstances change so solutions have to adapt with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/25 07:06 AM

Once you get used to something, it becomes harder to change. I've been content alone for a bit and it hasn't made me want to put myself out there in the present. I don't like "the chase" or flirting with women as much as I used to. I think the "learn to be happy alone" people are usually in perpetual relationships and need to take a breather.

they do understand parts of the pill ideas though but do not discuss them openly. Pill ideas are controversial because the inevitable conclusion of the ideologies is that you are constantly being judged for things that are potentially out of your control. I'm not a fan of these pill ideas but the way people discredit them is to go to extremes to show how "radical" the ideas are when the essence…

/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/24 10:16 AM

Failed relationship doesn't give you anything positive, only emotional baggage. no it isn't, it's just a failed relationship. life is filled with failures, the people who build them up as bigger than they are don't succeed. you can let it burden you but that's a personal choice.

Standards talk is procrastination. Just because some viral Internet posts are telling you that you need to be jacked or make 6 figures doesn't mean you need that. People lie about their comp/net worth anyway and to the average Joe being skinny is a good physique. Besides, you're a guy in the modern West in arguably the easiest time to economically ascend and tons of resources online to get in shape.

Depends on what you eat and your caloric/protein intake. I live in America, it's more expensive for me than usual but I'm eating more protein than the avg. person. Even if I cooked at home it wouldn't be cheap unless I were eating chicken breast daily.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 07:52 PM

it's not hard at all. I cook very little during the week and eat mostly prepared food from the grocery store and a couple restaurants. easier to track macros, less time, and healthier than what most people eat on a daily basis.

Women are more open about problems they have and communicate more than men. Men reach out to their friends usually when the situation is more dire. That's why you can't compare the two situations. she would sincerely thank me and say something like "this helps soo much..I owe you". then I would not hear anything from her for another 3+ weeks, until the next request came. that's on you, you are a pushover. Stop being one like most men are with both men and women in their lives. there is an implie…

I can understand 3-3.5k calories, that makes sense given a lot of people are 200+ lbs.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 11:43 PM

Only if you eat clean. Not at all, consistently eating 4.5k calories is not easy. Again, that's a ton of food.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 11:18 PM

french fries have a ton of calories at a lot of places, same with chips, nuts, etc. a medium french fries at McDonalds is 378 calories (43g of carbs and 15g of fat). It's not bad at all. A bag of chips is 200-300 calories. Not stuff I'd eat, but I'm pretty anal about macros now. 5k calories is a ton, seriously people underestimate how much food that is. Even the guys I knew who were bulking were eating less than that.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 11:06 PM

it's not easy to eat 5k calories a day, that's a ton of food. most people need to eat 1500-2500 cals per day to maintain their weight (assuming healthy weight people, varying heights and genders) and it's actually not that much food compared to what you get ordering at a restaurant, snacks, or even eating too much of a homecooked meal. I can see the point but also largely disagree. I don't cook much at the moment because I'm experimenting with my diet and I eat ~2400-2500 calories + drink a shit…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 10:57 PM

get the smaller ones then, looked at the macros online and the smaller ones are <8g of fat and ~20g of carbs each.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 10:41 PM

that's an accountability issue. nobody is telling you to eat a 700-800 calorie cookie, when the serving size is 1/4 of that. besides, you eat the whole cookie it shouldn't impact your caloric intake for the day or the week all that much. people eat worse and don't even realize it.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 10:24 PM

why is there so much hate for Crumbl Cookies online. it's a cookie not poison.

come out of it thinking they have the gospel truth and then try to gaslight the experienced and successful people about their own lives you're accusing them of what they will accuse you of doing. If we're been honest here, most discussion starts with "guy struggles with dating" -> "someone successful says they are wrong, I am successful" so the gaslighting if anything happens first from the successful person. The way these guys are discussed reminds me of how elitist liberals talk about rural fo…

I think a lot of people online are trying to discredit the experiences of these guys and use the cartoonish "labels and archetypes" to totally discredit their experiences rather than meeting them in the middle. I'd agree there is a level of exaggeration, but when someone faces enough failures, the actual problem will begin to appear a lot bigger than it is. I think as guys get older, they kinda have to be open to dating single moms. Either that or be OK being alone. Plus I find the obsession over body count to be a bit juvenile. Stuff like avoid unstable people or don't spend a lot of time/money on people you're not interested in is obvious to me.

what even are the best parts of the RP? the guys who do best with women had positive experiences at a very young age (so they have confidence) and were attractive, even having "game" is overrated IMO. I'd say the RP makes finding a wife or a GF seem a lot harder than it is for most people, you don't need to be shredded or make a specific amount of money to find a GF or a wife.

if you ask any pill popper “how does one get their SMV score? How’s it rated? Where can we get this value so we know what it is?” everyone on anon social media sites is ripped, smart, tall, and successful YET can't find a woman. it's a joke at this point.

main issue is more how everyone acts like they are above violence when we still largely rely on violence (or the threat of violence) to survive via the state. because the average person is. the people who actually fight in wars and who they are is very far removed from what the average person in the West experiences. I'd argue that a lot of combat vets don't fight for our freedom but to serve the state or satiate some desire to fight, these guys have a different mentality from 99.9% of people. P…

In a modern peaceful society, propensity for violence is seen as useless at best and toxic/dangerous at worst alongside sheer physical strength to a lesser extent. /r/PurplePillDebate22/10/24 05:50 AM

If that's your experience, I can't argue with it. Personally the only women I've heard struggle to date and wanted to were very socially introverted. If you are decently good at striking up conversation, you should be able to find a couple guys interested in you if you spend a short time in a social setting. As a guy you need to do more to have women interested in you. It is as dire as people say online no, but it is definitely more than women attracting men.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/24 05:45 AM

If you're in a street fight, the goal of the situation is to get out unharmed. A rando with a knife or any sharp object will fuck you up and no BJJ will save you. Plus if you injure the guy in a fight you risk manslaughter charges depending on how the fight originated. Reality is most fake tough guys online would shit themselves if a gun were pointed at them. People shit themselves in sparring training situations all the time and they know their life isn't really on the line.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/24 12:45 AM

among educated people this isn't something women care about man. We live in a more safe culture. There's a reason why safety is associated with how jacked you are or how tall you are, when a guy with a knife who is 6 inches shorter than you would fuck you up badly.

The point is that being alone is better than being with someone who doesn't enhance your life I disagree, strangers aren't going to "enhance" your life immediately and expecting them to do so is expecting a lot. Honestly, I think it takes a while, maybe even years, to know if someone is actually enhancing your life in a real way. Once you're alone for long enough, you will stunt yourself in certain ways that are hard to change. Agree to disagree I guess.

I agree in principle (they won't get enough calories/protein) but at the same time most people don't need to go 0.8/1:1 on grams of protein to weight. That's for people who train hard. A lot of people don't train hard and just gain weight eating a bunch of protein.

The idea that men have to improve themselves until they’ve reached nirvana, are getting paid $1,000,000 a year, look like Mr. universe, etc etc, just to start tying to pick up women, is ridiculous. Believing this to begin with is unbelievably naive, nobody sane is telling you that you have to do any or all of these things to find a partner. It almost feels like an excuse to not try. A lot of people need to learn to set manageable goals instead of shooting for the moon.

what's holding guys back in the context of talking is romantic escalation and flirting. that to me is "social skills" and honestly most guys aren't going to be good at that anyway. it's one of those things you kinda learn as a teenager/young adult. Being unable to read the room or hold a platonic conversation is a more serious issue and I don't know many, if any, people with that sort of problem. anyone with a semi-professional job should be able to do that as an adult.

Then they justify being anti-social with "it's becoming the norm" based on surveys and statistics. It's circular though because a good friend would tell them to put yourself out there or change behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 08:02 PM

having no friends could be the source of someone being single, you got no one to give you advice, no one to go out with, no one to set you up with other people, etc. it's probably better to have a bunch of acquaintances at the same point in life as you rather than close friends who are at different points but "online friends" aren't the same. it's like being FB friends with someone back in the day.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 05:53 PM

visceral disdain is doomerist nonsense, maybe a small percentage of women reject in a mean way but most are pretty nice about it. if you are inexperienced past 22, a large group of women will reject you unless you are incredibly attractive.

stuff like looks and money matters more if you're upper middle class and above in a Western country. women in that socioeconomic class can hold out for longer, freeze their eggs, etc. if they are making good money. status I think is stupid because 95-99% of people won't have status that matters in a meaningful way.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/24 06:16 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 09:20 PM

you need to initiate conversation with someone in a non-sexual way to start and I doubt you'll be a "creep" for doing that at a party. Older people don't have time to chit chat or at least like to give the appearance of being busy, that's why it's harder.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 09:02 PM

Men don’t care about what women want past getting into their pants. And that’s their right, especially since we have the right to reject or divorce them that's ridiculous, nobody I know nor I would date a broke woman for example. or someone who didn't go to college unless they dropped out and are exceptional. other guys have different things they prioritized outside of sex, we're adults here.

nowhere near 50. if the accepted view on this sub is that people were practically asexual in high school, then maybe this place actually is a massive outlier compared to the greater US population.

Most people aren’t dating in high school. Most people aren’t openly declaring their interest in you. Don't be ridiculous...maybe the Gen Alpha kids are like that, but certainly not my experience in high school.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 11:38 PM
7

I think you missed this guy's point. Besides, there's an obvious gap between a woman being interested in you and having sex, especially when you are a teenager/college. The fact is, if you have received zero interest from women throughout your teenage years and college, you have a lot more work to do than your peers.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 11:35 PM

An average guy is not struggling to get laid or date...are they dating around as much as more attractive guys? No. But this is known information from when you are in high school.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 11:10 PM

I don't need my worldview on this changed. Going to the gym, losing weight, or getting a better job are good things. Doesn't mean you're going to live the life of a "Chad."
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 05:08 PM

Every guy isn't built to date around, that's for a select group of men. Trying to replicate the lifestyle of the most attractive men because it "works" is like trying to work at a hedge fund when you didn't even go to college. I agree though on the data thing, people are obsessed with these doomer stats instead of going after whatever goal they have. Either improve or quit, it's that simple.

/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 03:57 PM

how do you know someone's sex life through customer service? Or are you calling an ugly guy "inkwell-leaning" to make your point?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 03:52 PM

someone's character isn't based on how they look. but besides that, people put on a front in a job setting vs. personal, idk why this needs to be explained on the Internet so much.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 03:47 PM

it's passive aggressive and a waste of time. focus on trying to convince one woman to have a family with you instead, if you want to have one.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/24 11:12 PM

How many times is this stat going to be rehashed here? I don't understand the point of repeatedly saying it, it feels like a poor attempt at shaming some women into doing something they don't want to do.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/24 10:58 PM

a 5'6'' or 5'7'' guy is perfectly normal. doesn't mean that he isn't short. likewise a woman who is 5'2'' is short.

it has everything to do with cost of living. when cost of living is higher, more money (2 incomes) is needed to pay for things. plus assets, cost of education, and housing are appreciating at a higher rate than wage inflation.

Bro you live in Eastern Europe based on this thread. COL isn't even close to what it is in America, especially in VHCOL/HCOL in America.

All I'm saying is that a guy who is marrying into a family that owns a PJ isn't reflective of >99.9% of Americans. Congrats but what you're saying isn't relevant for most of us. Even making mid 6 figures and not having your wife work will make it expensive if you live in a VHCOL or HCOL area in the US. Your wife doesn't need to care about money because she has a trust fund waiting for her and your mom (or people from past times) didn't care as much because cost of living was lower and assets wer…

so you married into obscene wealth, assuming this isn't a LARP, so you can afford to be a rich socialite for the rest of your life and your wife doesn't have to do anything because she presumably has a huge trust fund. for 99.9% of Americans, this doesn't apply.

The kids need to be raised by their mother and not by some rando nanny. So your wife isn't going to work from when your kids are in kindergarten to forever because of "traditional values"? You're getting fleeced bro, but to each their own.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 08:32 AM

Your average American holds opinions and values about life that would never fly in any country in Continental Europe (east, west, north, south, doesn't matter). lol the culture of many European countries is literally appropriating American consumerism at this point.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 08:14 AM

it's a stupid decision to begin with. For example, both people should work and contribute financially. You can screen for personality traits but it's better to be with someone who can financially pull their weight and is a bit opinionated over someone who is docile but doesn't contribute at all. Again, recipe to get fleeced.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 08:07 AM

no offense but you live in Croatia. "traditional values" there is very different than it is in America. Having all of these hangups in America is a recipe to be alone or get financially fleeced. that's my 2c.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 08:03 AM

stop listening to anything red pill. you don't need to hit financial milestones to date, and the longer you wait the harder it will be. go on dates you can financially afford and you'll be fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/24 07:17 AM

none of the stuff you're saying matters much. passport bros, NEETs, adult video game players, and porn addicts are seen as losers. men will never have leverage in dating over women, and I think you and lot of guys here need to let go of that fantasy.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/24 06:09 AM

ozempic has become like the steroid excuse online. anytime someone loses like 10-20 lbs idiots will say "they were using ozempic"
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 07:56 PM

Most men would choose to be poor and most women would choose to be rich. this makes no sense. most people would "choose" to be rich if they could, they don't have the skills, network, and resources to get there. people across socioeconomic classes can be in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 07:32 PM

the average guy dates/marries one of the first few women who shows interest in him. active pursuit is largely a failure but he does get matches or finds people he is compatible with.

it's a meal, I cover for my friends and family all the time. if it's too much then it's better to go to a cheaper restaurant. the real things that you can't figure out easily are things like credit card usage and debt. those are more worrisome than a bill at a bar or restaurant and you can only figure that out with time.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 06:23 PM

it's a class and cultural thing. some cultures people are married by a certain age and if you're richer, you can afford to freeze your eggs/other fertility treatments for years. anyway I largely agree.

it's probably exaggeration. the ones who say they get no attention are more truthful than someone who says something like this. who knows though.

this is a teenager/early 20s problem. guys who work don't care that much about getting women, I meet tons of guys of all ages who are totally checked out. plus ones who even if their relationship kinda sucks will stick it out because they don't want to go back to dating.

I think it's mostly distrust. Anyway it's a man's job to find a community that accepts him. Not worth trying to figure out why and instead find people who accept you. People distrust others for a diverse range of reasons.

So there is something differentiating about how men interact with one another. What do you think that is? People are more insular when it comes to accepting a man vs. a woman. There's this notion that a man has an ulterior motive when he wants to do or join something. It's a hurdle you need to overcome as a guy in any community, outside of religious ones, which is why I think a lot of men turn to religion later in life.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/24 09:41 PM

his video felt like childish nonsense tbh, teenagers or people who don't grow up think like that. Men are lonely because they lack meaning, you get that through work or community. most people aren't capable of combining their passion with their talent, so they opt to find meaning in community. now we're more fragmented because people move around and a lot of interactions are between our anon avatars online rather than IRL.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/24 09:30 PM

while I agree that the red pill is nonsense, the problem you'll face arguing these guys is partially the reason they have a bunch of followers. they practically have a degree in arguing with people online and will shift what "the red pill" is to whatever is less cringeworthy. look at some of the responses here, paragraphs on paragraphs defending their ideology, it's like a religion at this point. the fact is, a lot of people don't need to go through self-improvement to find someone. nor do they …

/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/24 06:04 PM

a lot of people with zero control over their own impulses, families, and lives feel the need to exert control over strangers. it's hilarious tbh. tons of men have the same opinion, when the vast majority of men have consumed porn at some point or still do.

I've never met a guy who got 0 matches and somehow got tons of matches IRL. It's this fake anomaly case that gets repeated online by bullshitters. Yes, you can find a GF IRL but that same guy is probably going to struggle IRL too. Which is why this guy should cast a wide net, much like a mediocre job applicant should apply for a ton of jobs across different geographies and job titles. He doesn't have the leverage to be selective to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 04:23 AM

a guy whose experience on OLD is "as bad as playing the lottery" is not gonna do much better IRL. all of this has nothing to do with getting off your ass or making a change in your life either, plenty of well-adjusted and successful people use social media to get dates/laid.

Now that 20 year old sorority girl is a 29 year old criminal defense lawyer who's still gorgeous and looking for a good man who can be a life partner and she thinks you might be it. She's gonna be drowning in options too. Let's be real, unless you're a white collar worker making 6 figures you got no shot at her to begin with. Once you're past 25, you're competing with so many men that I understand why men give up.

They really aren't, people live forever nowadays in the West. Again, I was exaggerating "eat whatever" my point is that a fitness focused lifestyle isn't compatible with a lot of people. As an example if you don't drink or have a special diet like keto, you're decreasing your options.

lol this man vs. bear thing is a massive troll. there's a certain subsection of women online who get enjoyment dehumanizing men, and saying that a man is more dangerous than a bear accomplishes this. it's not deep. the ones who actually believe this conclusion are mentally ill and I feel sorry for them.

I assume many of these stories are fake. people who flex on Reddit are usually losers.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/24 09:35 PM

you do not "create status" and that story alone sounds like a lie. it's not a utilization issue anyway.

a lot of rich people will be dorks regardless of the number of 0s they add to the end of their net worth. it's why money isn't as helpful as people think it is when it comes to dating or making friends.

She can be "conventionally attractive", or she can be "big titty goth girl" attractive, or she can be "alt girl" attractive but either way IDK I think we're talking past each other. Now you're saying a wide range of women are approached in social settings, not just the conventionally attractive women. I don't think men who complain about women being too choosy are selecting for a specific group of attractive women in the first place. It's a sizable group of men who lack choice to begin with. Which is why I'm finding it more and more difficult to empathize with the bottom 50/70/95/whatever arbitrary percentage of men who "can't" get laid or find a relationship. that's because men have fewer options

depends on what significant means. regardless all of this should be figured out early on when dating someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 06:46 PM

What you earn is less important compared to your assets though. Tons of people make $100k+ and have shitty spending habits and significantly less assets. The best relationships IME are between people at the same socioeconomic class and met fairly early on in adulthood. but this isn't a concern for most people, a very low % of people who are still single make $100k+ a year.

I am thinking of leaving my family (and don't have close friends) to a major city and never talking to them for a multitude of reasons, not sure how I can tell if its a good or bad decision. I would not recommend isolating yourself like that. The big city will make you feel even more lonely than you already are.

Can't be socially awkward and be a tech lead or a senior engineer at a good company. Even the people who move from foreign countries are good communicators. A lot of people call themselves "engineers" when they are probably closer to what a contractor is. Tech bros get brought up because they tend to over-index on behavioral qualities that makes them uniquely more suffering when it comes to attracting women. It's not behavioral, it's a matter of opportunity (male-dominated space) and status. Tech has the least prestige among white collar fields. Any good tech team involves a ton of communication, planning, and working with stakeholders. Don't think so. Tons of women don't go out, wouldn't classify that as extroverted. The problem is there is no way for you, as an introverted man, to meet them.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/24 12:13 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 07:43 AM

you need to have a sense of what you want to prioritize by the time you're in your late 20s. the vast majority of people aren't going to have a happy professional, social, and family life. One or two of those things will take a back seat. I think having one of a good family or professional life is a solid outcome.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:11 AM

Most people stumble around blindly until 30 at minimum. most unsuccessful people stumble around blindly until 30 at minimum.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 03:04 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/24 01:08 AM

The answer to the question posed in that Twitter thread is she has high standards, which is ofc fine. Plenty of UMC women are in that boat.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/24 12:16 AM

they're probably dating around not having a roster. basically all the people I know in nyc work in finance/consulting/law and they're working round the clock. Plus people in finance/consulting exaggerate a ton. from compensation to lifestyle to dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/24 12:40 AM

"rosters" are for people with a trust fund / in college / work a low energy job. a lot of nyc is filled with that nowadays though.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/24 12:19 AM

unbelievably stupid
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/24 09:51 PM

would you say that there is Bad Blood between the two of you?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/24 09:43 PM

most of the women I know are in committed relationships, married/engaged, or actively dating. if anything, a lot of the guys aren't desperate for affection/intimacy, they need a motivation or push to put themselves out there.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/24 09:40 PM

I guess. Maybe I live in a bubble but all the people I interact with are nice, clean, and non-violent. Not even trying to sound like a "nice guy" a lot of my friends/acquaintances would be better boyfriends/husbands than me for sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/24 09:24 PM
1

sure. my point is more people doing small things that aren't important and treating them like they are huge favors.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/24 08:26 PM
2

a lot of these things don't need to be done but the person doing the emotional labor decides it is imperative. that's where the resentment comes from and tbh this goes beyond relationships. it's kinda like the people at work who "appear busy" all the time. that said, people do take considerate people for granted and that is wrong. there's a balance and that can only be found through communication and maturity.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/24 08:16 PM

Who cares. these women aren't going to find this hypothetical guy unless they have a social circle of mostly white collar workers and probably live in a VHCOL/HCOL area. they can talk about what they want all day but it isn't going to happen if this isn't the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/24 05:52 PM

I'm a guy and I agree that men are hornier, but I'm also not someone who would sleep with a woman or hit on a woman I'm not attracted to. that's the part I've never understood from tons of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/24 05:21 PM

$SPY since inception (1993) is up nearly 11x. Plus retired people are getting generous social security and have worked for years in a great job market. They should have money to pay for higher property taxes, the valuation of the home did go up.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/24 08:56 PM

Retired people on a fixed income may get priced out of the area. Skill issue
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/24 08:45 PM

as someone who wasted years in school taking classes more rigorous than 99% of the population, agree to disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/24 08:41 PM

Taxes are a distraction. Only rich people pay high taxes and they got accountants and all kinds of tricks to limit taxes. The real "taxes" are inflation and high asset prices (house).
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/24 08:35 PM

Total waste of time doing all that high level coursework if you don't get into a high-paying white collar field. People need purpose and everything else will follow. Having these existential thoughts (if you don't have friends who are also having these thoughts) will also make you seem like a weirdo.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/24 08:28 PM

No we need more people in the trades and less people in white collar jobs. In fact, a lot of the wage growth during the pandemic hasn't come from white collar jobs.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/24 07:55 PM

either improve or quit, a lot of these guys need to realize that complaining does nothing
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/24 07:49 PM

it's easier but past a specific age, it gets harder to find someone you are compatible with in general. Too much life has been experienced without the person you're trying to date.

It's because concepts like raising someone else's kid or being in the friend zone are part of popular culture (TV, movies, music, etc). I don't think this is about emotions but rather that these things are seen as accepted duties for a guy. Anyway a lot of men need to do what's right for them, nobody cares if you say no or ghost IRL.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:41 PM
4

If you don't want to raise someone else's kid, that's your choice. Trying to get strangers possibly from thousands of miles away to agree with you is a major waste of time. Same with friend zone, you can ghost someone who you think is friendzoning you. It's not that hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 04:32 PM

what does changing who "you are at your core" entail to you? Someone who needs to do that IMO is well past living the best possible life for themselves, the goal at that point should be getting back on track instead.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/24 04:57 AM
0

Dude I know tons of successful people and they have not had to change who they are to get there. You should only make whole scale changes to who you are at your core if you've really fucked up.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/24 04:37 AM
2

you're taking things to the extreme and not understanding my point. I never said you should be a shut in or take zero risks or never put yourself out there, I said to find people who mesh with who you are. You might, however, if who you are at your core isn’t attractive to the people you’re trying to attract. This is what is wrong society today. People change who they are for an idea rather than instead find people who will find their personality, quirks, and interests attractive. Normal people …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/24 04:35 AM
1

Ofc you need to be discerning about how you act in specific scenarios, why does this need to be spelled out explicitly? Literally obvious to any normal person. You're assuming the worst when someone uses the word "authentic" when all that means is being genuine. The point is you shouldn't need to change who you are at your core to meet people, the goal should be to find those who mesh with the way you are.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/24 04:05 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/24 10:35 PM

you're 22, you should be playing the field now.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/24 11:51 PM

You're telling me if a massive Chinese fleet appears out of the blue (impossible, I know, but work with me) and invades California the Americans would respond with 'special operatives'? you've contrived an absurd scenario to make your point. My point is that the likely outcome of the WW3 doomsdaying is foreign conflicts miles away that would be fought by professional soldiers. Yeah if we're invaded by land then we'll have to defend but that is not an easy task at all. Even China invading Taiwan …
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/24 10:51 PM

it's not insane at all, it's standard procedure for what America does now. What is insane is forecasting WW3.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/24 10:42 PM

find a normal woman lol. not someone who calls people Chads.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/24 06:05 PM

a lot of these household chores should be part of routine not something you delegate. especially because they usually don't take much time. people should wash their dishes right after they eat. Or do laundry on a fairly regular cycle. the ones that do take time, I'd outsource.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/24 05:56 PM
1

we'll send in special operatives, not untrained civilians, if that's the case. the draft is a relic of the past.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/24 05:44 PM

won't change a thing in America. I assume the same goes for most Western European countries as well. America has professional soldiers at this point, no need for a draft.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/24 05:35 PM

Your lifestyle and habits inform your personality. If you eat well and work out in some capacity, someone who doesn't do either wouldn't be a good fit for your lifestyle. If you eat crap and don't move around at all, that's a different thing, but I don't usually see women who are fit with men who aren't. At best it's two people who are probably skinny fat.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/24 12:14 AM
4

You can workout with them and help them lose weight too most people don't have the willpower to change their habits. I think this goes beyond attractiveness, plenty of men find overweight women attractive, it's a lifestyle thing.

yeah because they don't have the money to do the expensive procedures. it's like the Hollywood actors who look like Greek gods they have access to the best steroids in the business. eh young women get cosmetic surgeries / botox / fillers these days, it's hard to tell often times. I was looking into investing in these companies for that reason but kinda missed the boat.

most of the women who age "well" do some sort of cosmetic surgery. I think aging well is mostly genetic.

But one day it just happened and then it’s never been a problem. Yeah it doesn't work that way for a lot of people. 20 isn't late either, maybe past the average but it's not abnormal. Past 22 is abnormal.

I agree that there's no point falling into despair but it's not going to change with age, it'll get harder instead. idk why people choose 25 as some sort of benchmark, I'd say 22 is when it's pretty late.

Saying "everyone struggles" is an oversimplification of what is happening because some people are struggling significantly more in specific aspects of their lives compared to others. cliched nonsense. it would be great if people were nicer to each other, but it is not going to magically happen. and being nice to the wrong people will get you fucked over. save being nice and showing empathy for those who have your best interest at heart, always be wary of a stranger's intentions.

you're not likely to be humiliated or shamed but you will hear a lot of no's unless you're really attractive. I agree though that you don't really make close friends after college. I'd say if you're worried about this stuff stick with dating apps and meeting people through the people you already know.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/24 08:53 PM

no you should get out of negative feedback loops for your own well-being
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/24 09:59 AM

ok we get it, the average man isn't desired the same way as the average woman. you can either improve to find someone who likes you or quit trying. I feel like a lot of you guys are stuck in a negative feedback loop talking about the same thing again and again and choosing to generalize the people who you are seeking to partner with. it's not productive or healthy for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/24 09:18 AM

it's a cultural thing, cultural things don't need to make sense. Meeting a new stranger at a coffee shop or a club feels closer to a job interview, maybe because I've met people for non-romantic purposes at those sorts of places.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/24 09:42 PM

I think you're bothered by my response and trying to turn it around on me. peace.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/24 01:08 AM

Yes a lot of people are disrespectful, rude, and have poor character, is that news to you or something? If we're talking about people online being disrespectful, could very well be a 15 year old kid procrastinating an English paper.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/24 12:55 AM

that's a male communication thing, women are nicer about expressing negative thoughts.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/24 12:46 AM

They fear being shamed by society. Strangers are mean spirited, people get made fun of for how they look or how rich they are, ofc they will get made fun of for their partner's profession if it's prostitution, pornography, or stripping. A lot of guys are against it though because their lifestyles/views are so different from people in these fields. Both men and women worry about societal shaming anyway, it's apart of living amongst people. I think it's less "anti" and more "not wanting to be asso…

you're pointing out an outlier for a general point I was making, there's always going to be outliers. and even so, this teacher went to a very good college with a masters, most teachers don't have those qualifications to begin with. her social circle would be quite different from the usual low earner.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/24 08:49 PM

I thought the Saudis would spend more money on trying to improve the team especially after a top 4 finish. I guess they're spending more on their own league.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/24 08:08 PM

She went to a very good college and has a masters, but she's not in a high earning field. Yeah, education is included in socioeconomic. It's not just money, a lot of people go part-time as they age anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/24 07:31 PM
6

People usually date and marry within their socioeconomic bracket. He probably wants to date someone attractive but it's a different group of women from the guy who makes $1m. you're competing against guys in your socioeconomic bracket more than guys in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/24 07:15 AM
17

those two groups of men aren't trying to date the same women in the 1st place
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/24 05:21 AM

I'm gonna ignore your veiled insult (cuz I do surround myself with good people who uplift me more than they probably even should) and just assume you come from a conservative, religious part of the world given your perspective. A guy who is 22 and a virgin is closer to an outlier in America than the norm. Outliers are viewed as weird stereotypically. Dunno why I'm even arguing this when it's obvious to anyone in this country lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/24 08:54 AM

yeah I trust real life over whatever virtue signaling happens on this site
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/24 08:38 AM

because the men are being real? I don't think it's weird but if you don't think people make fun of guys who struggle to get laid or get in relationships with women you're crazy. probably the first thing a guy gets made fun of for honestly.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/24 08:34 AM

what does it matter about why people feel that way, being a virgin at 22 is viewed as weird
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/24 08:29 AM

gotta change your environment probably. and improve your social life. not saying these things are easy but that's the only way.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 08:15 PM

you're overthinking it. all guys need is a stable group of male friends who go out with from 18-25. High school is obviously better but even if you start at 18 you should be fine. everything else is not necessarily to meet women or date. Tons of people with nothing going on, not athletic, or not interesting date.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 08:13 PM

putting together a good dating app profile > being funny. Putting yourself out there is fine but do it with a group of other guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 07:57 PM

unless you are doing something that has fucked up your back, you should only be losing like 1/4 - 1/3 of an inch by 50. that's less than 1cm. prob measured wrong, people overestimate their height a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 07:25 PM

in your 50s sure
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/24 07:16 PM

people don't GAF what you wear at least in the US. will they comment on your outfit behind your back, maybe. when I've been in mixed circles it's always women who comment on another woman's outfit lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 07:11 PM

shitcoins or ETH/BTC?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 09:24 AM

people talk all the time about "3rd places" as if you are gonna make friends at these random public places, like a coffee shop or a library. the problem is you don't have friends, the location isn't going to change that and in some ways might amplify your own loneliness.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 04:44 AM

IDK if that's the case, you need to put yourself out there. When I went to college I didn't find 80%+ of women attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/24 04:28 AM

It works the other way, short guys get emasculated a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/24 11:53 PM

someone's own experiences and beliefs are going to be more "right" to them than someone using statistics. I think that's fair as well. statistics or someone else's experiences need to be taken with a grain of salt always.

if he was actually mirroring you, he has no clue what he's doing. I also don't get why he shouldn't get another woman's number when all you've done is chat with him. either way, that's my outsider's read on the situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 09:30 PM

What do you expect, a shy guy isn't going to know how to escalate romantic situations well.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 09:22 PM
1

if you've done all of this, you need to either lower your standards even though you don't want to or take an extended break. you are going to burn yourself out otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 05:30 AM

people on Reddit are nasty. you only roast your friends, not random strangers, and it's usually over small things. to me that's a sign of someone being socially underdeveloped. anyway don't wear being a virgin on your chest, people will mock you for that unless they are your friends/family.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/24 05:33 AM

There is massive downside for women. Say you want to get a divorce or your family needs more money to survive, you need to restart your career. It's hard to restart your career after 1 year, let alone 5 or 10.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 11:45 PM

Terrible advice for 99% of men. Men should prioritize finding someone when they are young, you don't need to marry them right away but the longer you wait the more you'll have to deal with chronic daters.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/24 11:37 PM

nothing wrong with that...
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/24 01:49 AM
1

you've gone off on a tangent. I'm well aware that many people fail in life, there's a reason why most people aren't millionaires and we have so many divorces.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/24 02:23 AM
3

It's not about marrying young, it's about finding someone when you are at the same point in life. Plenty of people get married in their mid-late 20s nowadays but they met their partner in college or right after college ended. In fact, a lot of the people I know who got married to people they met in high school or college, got married years later due to cost, education, and other factors.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/24 02:06 AM

Men should prioritize finding a partner early on in life if that is something they want. I think the normalization of dating culture has led to a lot of unhappy people. The reason is people go on way different paths as they get older and become too different from each other, while successful couples grow through their 20s together. Sometimes it is a bit strange because some couples become almost one person together but I think that's probably better than dating someone with different background,…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 09:34 PM

People who are able to go through a period of casual sex in their 20s. Acting like this is rare is kinda absurd. If you want to avoid people who like casual sex you pretty much need to find someone when you were in high school/early college or be in religious circles. Even religious people sleep around though if they are able to.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/24 08:25 PM

my point is there are diminishing returns beyond a certain point. unless you are making millions.

it's important but massively overrated by people without money or a stable job

It's not hard, avoid these women. They are overrepresented online, so you think they are more common than they actually are.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/23 12:09 AM

the net worth/salary I'd need to make to be a wallet is super high. which is a good thing IMO, don't have to worry about people using me much.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 01:23 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 12:57 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 12:53 AM

you don't need to be top 15% or any other small percentage to be approached by a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/23 05:11 PM

I do live in a VHCOL area in the US. That data probably accounts for people putting their money in retirement accounts (up to $23k), mortgage (at a time of peak unaffordability in terms of housing prices), or having a low-mid 6 figure household income with a kid. As I said, if you make even $250k and you're paying for a child and another person, it can be tough because you need to get a bigger apt/house to rent + pay for childcare. But if you're single and making $175k and paycheck-to-paycheck, …
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/23 03:30 AM
1

you don't need to budget at $175k unless you have a kid or a mortgage, you can but you should be able to comfortably spend on stuff you like. and all of this is assuming you can't find a job/you're a contractor and you're starting at 0 savings. Your link is because they probably count people putting money in 401k/retirement accounts/mortgage...seriously if you're broke and making $175k (and have no kid), you're financially stupid. and I make good money and am not even close to paycheck-to-payche…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/23 02:50 AM
2

you can do all of the stuff you listed at $170k-$250k though. and someone who makes $170k-$250k a year shouldn't be 2 paychecks away from financial difficulty.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/23 02:34 AM
2

I don't project my wealth at all. It's stupid because you'll be treated like a mark and I'm not wealthy enough for it to matter. I buy stuff that I want not what would make me look good to random people. Most of the wealthy people I've met don't project their wealth, you can tell by subtle clues but even then a lot of them are quite frugal.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/23 11:32 PM

dude there are people in the comments saying they've gotten nothing for free lol, you're exaggerating to make a point that nobody is going to agree with.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/23 04:57 AM

it's not a fantasy at all, obviously not gonna be to the scale of OnlyFans tips but the idea that a woman hasn't gotten a drink bought for her or a meal paid for her is weird to me
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/23 04:46 AM

Well I wouldn't know, I think it's gross and in America it's illegal pretty much everywhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 05:33 PM

it's illegal...no shit it's expensive.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 05:28 PM

Do you think people go to dating app subs because they are successful or because they aren't? think you know the answer to that one. dating apps make dating more competitive but the only way to compete is to have a good digital footprint, that even goes for meeting people IRL.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/23 10:13 PM

well no shit. the point is you need to put a much greater emphasis on your digital footprint over IRL communication. It's easy to communicate IRL if you sent a good foundation with someone, the difference is you now need to set that foundation digitally.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/23 09:57 PM

Being able to text well or use social media effectively is important for the younger generations, these old people who tell guys to try all of these "traditional" means of communication are sabotaging young people, given they want to actually date and meet women. Having an inactive social media presence is seen as a massive red flag.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/23 09:45 PM

it's less about being taller than people around you, and more about hitting the checkbox
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/23 06:15 PM
14

The world is digital. It's too late. Yeah, imagine telling a kid to minimize his digital footprint while literally all of his classmates are online lol. You have to be either delusional or stupid to believe this is a smart strategy for childhood development. Sure there should be some moderation but kids interact more and more digitally, it is what it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/23 01:57 PM
4

The best way to make friends as a kid is to fit in. If you have hobbies and interests that are very different from others, you won't fit in. The guy who fishes or hunts while everyone else is at home chatting with friends on Discord will be seen as a weirdo.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/23 01:32 PM

more relevant is your mom's dad
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/23 08:04 AM

do you work in a white collar industry? is this kid the only person you know who does? It's not impressive because it's not noteworthy in these places, I'm in the same boat as this dude and so are a lot of people I know who make $200k+. It only gets "impressive" when it's $400k+ which is rare at 26 in VHCOL. This isn't to brag, I'm probably in the bottom half of earners among the people I know. The correct approach is probably finding a balance between income and affordability like people did du…

you're talking about it in general, I was responding to someone talking about the San Francisco median wage. I clarified in a diff comment. impressive is subjective anyway, it's not about what percentile you're in.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/23 08:20 AM
-1

it's not impressive in VHCOL areas in the US, which unsurprisingly is where the majority of 26 year olds making $200k are.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/23 08:16 AM
2

yeah, I doubt you live in San Francisco. You couldn't even purchase the land for a 5br house in that area.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/23 06:20 AM
2

$200K is more than enough to buy a house in most places We're talking about making $200k in SF, so IDK how this is relevant. If you leave SF for a LCOL, your salary could drop too. Income/COL arbitrage is dead IMO, it existed during COVID for a couple of years but a lot of companies want you in office at this point. Maybe I wasn't clear in my initial comment though. $200K salary isn't impressive in San Francisco because that city has abnormally expensive housing No, it's not impressive because i…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/23 05:25 AM

the person above exaggerated but it's not an impressive income. Can't even buy a house, while not living on edge, unless you have a lot saved up and can take on a smaller mortgage. Goes to show you how expensive life has become.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/23 04:50 AM
6

what does rich even mean anymore? Making millions, sure. If we're talking low 6 figures and a sub $1m net worth outside of your house, no. Most people make their peak wages when they are old and probably not dating anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/23 04:21 AM

99% jobs will require you to work until you're old though. if you're not on that track already, it's pretty hard to reach the "tons of money and not working" stage before late 50s/early 60s. Grass is always greener when job hunting.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 04:20 AM

most people can't fathom the scenario you're describing in the first place. at best it'll be a cartoonish idea based on pop culture for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 04:15 AM

that would be quite strange
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 01:32 AM

Interesting that you say AI relationships will be heavily targeted to women. It ties to my thinking that there will be a lot more single moms by choice who will get pregnant via sperm donor. The same won't be possible for single dads because eggs are way more valuable than sperm and I don't believe as many men will be interested in being a single parent. The AI relationship in this case can bridge the companionship gap for women and they can also be mothers.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/23 03:34 PM
3

The average person will be priced out. General AI is a money loser, a personalized AI will lose even more money. But you seem to be dug in so we'll agree to disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/23 03:23 PM
2

People who spend money on consoles and special computers have stable jobs. A robot girlfriend will be prohibitively expensive and anything AI-based if it's a personal AI unlike the current chatbots will also be expensive because of the training costs.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/23 03:14 PM
7

It's too late for someone who is thinking of having a robot/AI girlfriend. Yeah there are probably exceptions but the idea that you're contemplating this tells me they've faced a lot, possibly too much, rejection. I also don't believe much in the idea it's easy or even possible to "shift someone's mindset" it's incredibly hard to do in practice. The target customer of AI/robot girlfriend will be someone who makes an above-average income in Western countries. I doubt they'll be "outcasts" either,…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/23 03:07 PM

Being married isn't a status symbol anymore, this isn't the 1950s. Status is harder to achieve as competition rises and expectations grow. A man contemplating having a robot/AI girlfriend isn't even playing in the same sphere as one who is successful attracting women. It's like comparing the mathematical abilities of a high school dropout with a Math major in college. They already are outcasts, why tf do you think they're thinking of getting a robot/AI girlfriend? Don't really care about social …
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/23 01:57 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/23 07:40 AM

It's not that subjective regarding who the most attractive people are. Maybe the people in the middle there's some subjectivity but I think that more has to do with who finds you attractive (men will rate the women who find them more attractive also more attractive). I don't rate people in general because I think it's childish and it has the ability to lower a lot of people's carefully crafted self-esteem.

IF they had the chance or ability to date them, they WOULD. Emphasis on the IF. Dunno about that. I think you're mistaking thirst online from bots/teenagers/weirdos for most guys wanting to date these women. People date within their circle.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/23 12:18 AM
6

Men don't have the ability to date "the same women they shit on" lol. IG models / OF models have tons and tons of DMs. Are you talking about online influencers when you say men? Because these guys don't represent reality at all. IME, not from the podcasts or whatever stuff you guys watch, guys usually marry one of the first few women who shows them interest. Been to multiple weddings in the last few years where that's been the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/23 12:09 AM
6

The average man won't be able to sleep with an IG model, who is getting hundreds of DMs from blue checkmark athletes/celebrities/actors/musicians. >99% of men do not have enough clout on social media at any point in their life, you're talking about something that relates to a very small minority of people. Also, religion is dying in the West, this idea that men want a religious woman doesn't square with reality. Religious people will almost always date within their own religion too (even their o…

you would have to be a shut-in and/or socially inept to think a random man who offers to buy you a drink is doing this for a non-romantic reason. BTW I've been out with women who have rejected drinks from men, it's not hard.

Congratulations, I like the people in my life already. I occasionally meet new people I click with but it's not a major priority for me at the moment. In general, my point is it's hard to make close friends beyond a certain age. Not at all hard to be acquaintances but it isn't the same as a friendship from childhood.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 11:37 AM

Perhaps there's some impact, but people aren't all that interested in meeting new people after college/first job after college to begin with. Most of these in-person interactions are with your friends, college is the last real chance to have a bunch of social, coed interactions among people you don't fully know. Dunno if technology has impacted that, unless college kids don't go to parties or bars anymore. All of this wasn't an issue when people got married earlier on and/or people were less mob…

It's good to meet people once in a while but technology has allowed people to curb the unnecessary time associated with constant interactions. already said that
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 12:35 AM

People do this stuff in college. After that, many branch off and do their own thing. I like hanging with my friends but it does get repetitive. And meeting new people is like doing a job interview nowadays, probably a function of my age. IMO in-person interaction peaks in high school and college, especially when it comes to strangers. Technology allows you to make in-person interactions more meaningful, the problem is people take the extreme route and don't meet anyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/23 11:01 PM

We had our favourite places to hang out (malls, parks, certain friends houses) and could always count on finding friends there. As a young adult, I was out most weekends. Staying home sucked back then cause there was nothing to do. Yeah, because you were a teenager. People aren't free to just hang out for the fuck of it nor do they want to once they get older. Explain to me why I need to go to the mall or the park just to meet someone after working all day? Texting gives me the same interaction …
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/23 10:32 PM

It's an observation from my life. I'm not trying to make new friends at this point nor am I implying I need to meet people who are intellectually curious to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/23 11:54 AM

intellectual curiosity usually comes from people who are academic. the most intellectually curious people I've met are PhDs.

I never said it's just because. People wait for all sorts of reasons. the fact that we've been pushing a hyper individualistic society in pop culture for decades upon decades and in Americas case a founding principle of the country. the founding principles didn't even apply to the vast majority of Americans. I think the Andrew Jackson election was the first one where even white male non-property owners could vote in a majority of states, maybe it was a couple elections before idk (and that's exc…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:18 AM

no people waiting to date is causing individualism. you're mixing the cause and effect. This causes people to think they need to either improve something about themselves (sometimes this is a fair critique, sometimes it's self-loathing) or insulate themselves from their family/friends (a cry for help). how is this "shilling on behalf of the people who profit from toxic individualism." Individualism has a lot of negative effects on one's mind as I said above.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 01:26 AM
6

the cause of dating being harder is people putting off relationships, not individualism. You become "individualistic" at best or "isolated" at worst because your idea of an ideal lifestyle differs from another person who has lived a different way for 5-10 years of adulthood. When people got married in their early 20s, they went through early adulthood together.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 12:58 AM
6

Nah, Individualism is a side effect of the fact that people get married later nowadays. As you age you become less flexible to drastic changes to your life. People used to get married at the start of adulthood so it became part of your "routine" as an adult. Now it gets delayed longer and longer, so you have a bunch of people with very incompatible lifestyles trying to create something compatible. This causes people to think they need to either improve something about themselves (sometimes this …
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/23 11:45 PM

For most men it isn't "radically" different or noticeable at 25. You're in a bubble if you think that.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/23 02:01 AM

? I have a full head of hair man. Just stating what I see outside.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/23 01:53 AM

Yeah but this doesn't afflict the majority of men, at least to the point where it's noticeable. Some hair loss is normal as you age but a lot of older people have pretty good hairlines.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/23 01:51 AM

most mens hairline will change radically from like 25+ Nah. Most men's hairlines do not change "radically." it's a sizable minority at best.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/23 01:45 AM

Most men do what you're saying. Besides the friendzone is a high school / college concept because it's the last time you have true 50/50 coed environments. Men usually hang with men and women usually hang with women as we get older.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/23 12:01 AM

it's just trite advice, most advice online is midwits pretending to be philosophers. that said, you need friends who respect you in life. easier said than done though.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/23 11:39 PM

Cuz it's unlikely you're going to find and keep a partner if you have no friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/23 11:27 PM

It's a good job to start with. Not a good job to do forever. Most of the successful tech founders have an engineering background for example. The problem is if you're a worker (and not an exec) and move from engineering to something else in tech, you're taking a drop in pay.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/23 11:16 PM

A lot of them do, yes. Men finding 80% of women attractive or whatever numbers gets quoted on this sub is merely desperation.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/11/23 10:10 PM

the most effective way to get a guy is to express interest in him. playing it cool is dumb unless you know he's interested. I'm a guy though so different perspective.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/11/23 02:42 AM

total BS, I know tons of relationships that started with the woman initiating interest
/r/PurplePillDebate10/11/23 02:34 AM

this sounds like the plot of a TV show. in reality, these guys find the specific woman attractive and will do whatever to date or sleep with her.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 05:24 AM

get chicks saying "hi" to me, smiling at me, asking me what I'm drinking at the bar, toasting drinks with me, telling me I'm cute none of that is flirting, it's people being nice/conversational especially if you're in a social setting. Even being called cute isn't great. eye-fucking me, dancing near me trying to get my attention the fact that this guy thinks the stuff above is flirting makes me think the rest is bullshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/23 10:51 AM

Just because a woman was nice to you waved and said hi doesn't mean she wants to fuck you. Lol. I was thinking the same. Half of the stuff listed is just people being social.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/23 09:41 AM

So touch grass is actually good advice lol. It isn't at all. Making friends and meeting people beyond a certain age is very difficult. I feel for someone who has no friends at 22 and anyone telling them to "go outside" is being a bit of a dick.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/23 10:15 PM

I'm fairly young. I assume some stuff was easier, some stuff was harder, but that's even a matter of perspective.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/23 12:19 PM

most stuff is old news
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/23 12:13 PM

Yeah I find it hard to believe that a large portion of people on Reddit or even this sub have no friends. That's a dire situation if I'm being honest, and as i said before beyond a certain age there is nothing you can truly do about it. They need to make a commitment to change their mindset first. Test and iterate. Then move. Then test and iterate some more. People aren't computers. Getting through psychological barriers isn't easy and saying "change your mindset" might actually cause even more …
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/23 10:09 PM

If that's really the case (I find that hard to believe), the only advice I'd give this person is to literally move. Across the country, hell even to a different country.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/23 09:55 PM

If you have no friends beyond a certain age, you are fucked anyway. I don't think this person is the typical male to begin with, most men have friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/23 09:52 PM

I have no clue, all I know is around her age even women who are loners get attention from guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/23 01:38 AM

I don't mean this in a disrespectful way but then there's something she needs to work out mentally. Because truthfully, average women especially at her age have multiple guys interested and pursuing.

nothing. my parents have this weird thing where they simultaneously believe I can accomplish whatever while also doubting every decision I make. applies to almost every aspect of my life.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/23 08:18 AM

since when do men and women share a lot of interests. hasn't stopped people from dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/23 09:19 PM

women who can't get a date are either really weird or are willingly single
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/23 09:07 PM

If you can't find a woman to date or marry you in your home country, you are viewed as a loser, at least in the US. Women or men aren't jealous of whether losers are happy, that's my point. And FWIW I don't believe in calling people "winners" and "losers" I just know how shit works in the US socially.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/23 10:45 PM

Passport bros are losers romantically. They had to go overseas to buy commitment. And it's usually an older guy too so it's even more obvious that it's a transaction basically. Nobody cares whether losers are happy, it's the same reason why people don't care about men complaining about not getting laid. Men who can't get laid are viewed as losers, this is something that anyone who went to high school in the US understands.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/23 09:28 PM

I think you're overestimating big time. But I will admit I haven't cold approached a woman since college and I only did at bars. Anyway agree to disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/23 09:11 PM

My point is that you're talking out of your ass. The guys who do most of the cold approaches in my experience understand social cues very well, but what is considered "creepy" is subjective based on the person. People online base their thoughts on whatever is viral on TikTok rather than lived experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/23 08:51 PM

I'm self aware about it and that's why I never and will never cold approach (or probably just approach irl) a woman. So how do you know how cold approaches work then? The only people I knew who cold approached a ton were not "autistic weirdos" and they failed a lot (pretty much the nature of cold approaching). It's a matter of perspective as to what is "creepy" and this is subjective to the person.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/23 08:42 PM

develop a social circle, use OLD, and move to a big-ish city. meetups are for nerds and IMO a lot of these social activities have tons of older people.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/23 11:53 PM

selfishly male bc I think I could put my son in the right direction from the jump but don't care too much
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/23 01:16 AM

"productive discussion online" is an oxymoron. my point is more that people have different issues that are grouped together. same argument can be applied to financial discussion, there are people who are paycheck-to-paycheck in terms of buying food and bare necessities, while others are considered paycheck-to-paycheck because they have a mortgage and contributing to their 401k.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 06:36 PM

too many perspectives nowadays. a woman saying that is usually talking about their significant other, while a lot of men talking about male struggles are quite isolated. basically it's people talking past each other because their emotional needs aren't being met.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 06:25 PM

if you have a gut, it means you need to lose weight. better to do planks over situps/crunches anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 06:09 PM

I think she's attractive but I get what you're saying. This whole thing has to do with ego, the idea that some Average Joe isn't simping over Margot Robbie blows people's minds. It's why I shy away from calling people attractive or unattractive in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 08:57 AM

something creative
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/23 11:42 PM

Old man take
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/23 11:52 PM

not at all. my hobbies/interests are way different from the avg. woman's.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 09:14 PM

lol should've picked the guys with highest earning potential in college
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 05:17 PM

depends on your debt, where you live, and if you consider having no money after contributing to a retirement acct broke. $100k in a big city isn't all that much. Personally, I don't think these people are "broke" but every Bloomberg article that talks about paycheck-to-paycheck for even bigger earners for example calls people who have no money after contributing to retirement paycheck-to-paycheck.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 05:08 PM

while "everyone" doesn't make 6 figures, if you go on a financial subreddit it's likelier they make 6 figures.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 04:53 PM

people definitely exaggerate their salary but 6 figure salary isn't special anymore

A woman interested in you will want to hear about whatever you're interested in. So if you are talking to a woman who isn't interested in you, you will feel like a dancing monkey. "good conversational skills" isn't a thing. what is a thing is someone finding your interests or thoughts interesting.

It's rare in my experience. Every single couple I know, young and old, have a similar socioeconomic / educational background. Maybe it's because I'm among richer people.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/23 12:47 AM
1

grown in what sense. people marry and date others in similar socioeconomic classes and educational backgrounds, you will often appear quite average and unimpressive among your peers anyway. the person who makes 6 figures at a tech company or at a law firm and the waiter are talking past each other when it comes to dating and relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/23 12:39 AM

IDK people should find others with compatible lifestyles to their own. Nothing wrong with figuring out early on that someone has totally different expectations, lifestyle, and experiences than you and moving on.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/23 11:57 PM
1

"Chad treatment" you're in way too deep. A lot of men (and women) want someone they can grow with. At least people that aren't neurotic or overly analytical.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/23 11:49 PM

that's a product of where you live more than anything. regardless, everyone complains about dating apps these days, it's not exactly a controversial opinion.

it's easy to tell when someone is wearing that stuff. Joe Rogan wears all that shit and he still looks short as fuck. Just own it.

IDK. Maybe I was around more active people at the time. Even today, all of my friends are fairly active and in shape so perhaps it's my own warped sense of reality.

I was in college fairly recently and most people were pretty thin lol
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/23 11:15 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 06:01 PM

you argue in bad faith, not interested in wasting my time.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:53 PM

what are you talking about. Some men don't want to be stepfathers. Some men are also rude online because they can be anonymous. Pretty much the intersection of those 2 groups is what OP sees, hence the supposed widespread "hate" toward single moms.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:48 PM

I can make the argument that any group is "hated" if I look enough. Besides, I assume single moms get more matches on dating apps than most men given matching statistics.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/23 05:36 PM

using social media for anything outside of business is lame

sounds like bullshit unless they're using their real names. more likely they get doxxed by someone if they ever get famous enough professionally outside of OnlyFans.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/23 02:53 AM

stupid concept that doesn't make sense in reality. you need to be successful among the people you know, making 6 figures + going to a good university is an "Average Joe" among the people I know for example, and yet 6 figures is the pinnacle for a lot of people financially.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/23 12:06 AM

that's how a standard entitled person reacts to hearing the word "no" or getting ghosted.

people on this sub always talk about needing posters here to "going outside" and yet it's the only place I hear about absurd scenarios like a football player struggling to date.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/23 10:43 PM

lol this is why I tune out anytime someone talks about bootstraps theory, they'll whine about someone who has been more successful than them anyway while denigrating those who are worse off. Like the liberal boomers who target the billionaire class because they're all millionaires off of simple appreciation.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/23 05:52 PM

IDK I don't believe this is a good long-term solution. A good way to avoid rejection as stupid as it sounds is to limit it and the ways to do so are to either get better (and get some successes) or give up to limit the damage to your subconscious. I don't believe rationalizing anything to yourself is smart in the end, but to each their own.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/23 08:38 AM

I have a hard time believing they are "almost entirely different" I think if you really analyzed it there would be a lot more commonalities than you might think. We'll agree to disagree there. But sure, there is some variation I'd assume.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/23 07:06 AM

fair enough. but I think the looks is less subjective than a lot of people make it seem.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/23 06:47 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/23 06:43 AM

I don't give a fuck about comparing myself to others in my demographic, that's a road to nowhere. Intelligent women will choose the okay-looking, smart guys over the good-looking one. That's status. Dude everyone I know is smart. That's not a differentiator at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/23 02:42 PM

maybe for some. I'd personally avoid those people who are "attracted" to status.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/23 02:24 PM

the reason why status is more powerful than wealth is because there are tons of wealthy people who are anonymous, status differentiates you in a public way. there is nothing "sexual" about status, don't be ridiculous.

Marriage rates are declining, fewer kids are being born, and people are having kids later. None of this has to do with Andrew Tate. Whether or not this will cause economies to collapse is unclear, IMO fewer people will need to work in the future. But I think dating will become more niche over time, with not a big impact on Western societies.

if you have no allies you aren't going anywhere in life. silly perspective to have.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/23 11:29 PM

Do what you want, I rarely get offended by stuff online bc idgaf. Just sayin that a lot of people care about how you say stuff rather than what you say.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/23 08:49 PM

Sure but the way you and a lot of other people engage with others here is antagonizing. No offense. It's like you're trying to induce a reaction then complain about their reaction in another comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/23 08:43 PM

at the same time you're antagonizing them by implying they're ugly because they aren't early-mid 20s. which is ridiculous. TBH a lot of people here seem to lack conflict in their lives, so many of y'all come here to fight over your keyboards.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/23 08:37 PM

1200 calories is ridiculously low...there's no healthy way of maintaining that over a long period of time.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/23 10:04 PM

Why? all you gotta do is eat less than your caloric baseline and if you really want to, stay away from sugar and processed foods. it's not complicated at all and yet people overcomplicate it.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/23 09:55 PM

the majority of intelligent people are incapable of unbiased thinking to an extreme degree. people are self-interested and will grasp whatever gives them some sort of advantage. intelligence doesn't overrule this.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/23 10:43 PM

all I've learned from the Zion Williamson, Adam Levine and other similar incidents is that a lot of these famous guys are simps.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/23 07:31 PM

you are silly comparing Zion Williamson with "men" when his experiences are a ridiculous outlier. hard for a troll to recognize that I assume.

he probably doesn't give a fuck, next year he plays at an All-NBA level and this will be forgotten quickly.

professional athlete sleeps around, what a shocker
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/23 04:58 PM

most of the big names are taller than average. and when I talk about models, I'm not referring to people in commercials. also female athletes are usually taller than average.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/23 02:55 PM

ehh taller women are more attractive, why are Hollywood actresses and models usually tall.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/23 02:47 PM

rather be alone than either
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/23 02:19 PM

"emotions" don't mean crying or getting angry unnecessarily. You are supposed to take the emotions inside you and convert that energy into something impactful. If you disregard your emotions in decision making then you're losing the essence of being a man. fyi "stoic" has multiple definitions, it doesn't just refer to the philosophy.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/23 09:51 PM

Lol there is nothing masculine about being a stoic robot. "emotions" aren't negative at all, just harness the energy from those emotions to achieve what you want to achieve.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:08 PM

maybe, a lot of people's personalities are based around consumerism. even hobbies have turned into a consumer thing. I do think that some people have enough failed interactions with strangers that they turn to consuming instead.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 10:01 PM

lmao I feel shame being on Reddit when I'm not at home
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 09:47 PM

I was looking into one called Factor 75 after my friend recommended it to me. I saw an ad recently for one called Cook Unity that looked interesting but probably less healthy. Ofc the stuff like HelloFresh and Blue Apron are there too, that's minimal preparation tbh and I don't consider any of that "cooking." Comes down to how much you want to spend, how many of these meals you'll have weekly, and how much you eat in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 09:40 PM

don't even need to make bank, there are so many healthy, prepared meal options out there now
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 09:34 PM

not an important skill tbh
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/23 09:02 PM

Agree and disagree. 5-9 is considered short now and a 5-9 guy does look noticeably shorter than a 6 ft. The min height threshold is 6 ft because not many guys look "short" at that height because there's so few men at a true 6-3+ (even athletes height fraud or list their measurements with shoes). But moaning because you're 5-10/5-11 or something like that is over the top.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 11:34 PM

monkey branching is disrespectful. nothing wrong with dumping someone and then finding someone better though.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/23 04:27 AM

occupying your mind with work. you got too much time on your hands if this is something you think about a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/23 12:24 AM

I don't believe there's a point of no return because once you're below 5-9 you are considered short anyway

Lol I know that's why I go into the office to talk to people and go out of my way to talk to people IRL. Again, the tech industry is filled with older people and communicating with them is different from talking to someone on a date. Most people I work with would rather WFH to spend time with their kids and family, which is understandable.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/23 01:39 AM
1

Maybe, I've never worked on a factory floor. I doubt getting "factory floor" interaction would matter in terms of romance, most of the people I work with are at least decade+ older than me and many are distributed around the world. The point I was making was that I have tons of meetings throughout the day, you can't "never interact with people" and do this job effectively. Regardless, this thread is filled with strange generalizations of how "STEM" people are, when WFH is common for any white co…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 11:16 PM

That's more socioeconomic though. I have friends across different white collar industries and very few are married. And most of them don't work in tech.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/23 09:13 PM
2

then I find it confusing that you don't see that a lot of people at tech companies are older and married. I don't think I said anything rude, I just found it very Reddit mod-like that you said this: "guys who haven’t realized the crux of their predicament" as if you had the answer before asking the question.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/23 09:09 PM
4

have you ever worked at a tech company? Or are your observations based on what you read on Reddit or Twitter or whatever social media (a massive LARP). This seems personal for you. I'm providing a real world perspective, something that is lacking online in most conversations.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/23 08:54 PM
4

lol you're a reddit mod. get off your high horse, you don't know anyone's individual situation. Again, most of the people at my office are married with kids. They're normal people who work this job to make a living and make their kids lives easier. Same applies for non-STEM workers. Only in America is there such an obsession with the work you do and how that makes you who you are. In fact, skilled electricians or plumbers I think could be good at coding if they were given the opportunity.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/23 08:46 PM

Most of the older people at my work are married with kids (I work in tech), same deal probably for the older blue collar workers. The statistic often discussed is that the majority of 18-29 year old men according to that Pew study are single. STEM workers are a tiny portion of the economy, especially at this age range, so tbh this statistic mostly reflects non-STEM workers struggling to date. I feel your question and the replies are a strange form of high school bullying, it's something I've not…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/23 08:18 PM

Not really man, I have daily meetings with other engineering teams, product, and my own team. A lot of it is unfortunately virtual while I'm in the office, but you can't force people back into the office when they want to stay at home. I'd assume that a lot of senior engineers have more meetings than I do, a lot of white collar "work" is talking in meetings for way too long.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/23 07:37 PM

I’ll play along with the idea that men were lied to about looks mattering to women. They aren't, so the entire conversation is a waste. The people who are angry either didn't interact with a lot of people in school or are delusional.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/23 10:11 PM

yes, I'm saying those who base their opinions exclusively on what they read on social media are fucked. social media is the algorithmic, more efficient version of newspapers and TV plus more people today can read/write and have access to it. it's why I find debate ironically stupid, I base my views on my own thought process not what someone else told me.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/23 07:24 PM

those people are screwed to begin with if their perceptions are being shaped by social media.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/23 07:12 PM

pretty much everyone I know is upper middle class at least, nobody is dating or married to someone making minimum wage.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/23 07:10 PM

it's just an online forum lol. some of you guys hype it up to be something bigger than it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/23 07:08 PM

life isn't a movie, most men who make 6 figures are not meeting and/or dating women who are working minimum wage jobs and with no college degree.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/23 06:55 PM

nah bread is overrated
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 11:40 PM

the truth is that a lot of supposedly "empathetic" people feel entitled when it impacts them and don't give a shit when it doesn't.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 07:55 PM

Women want to raise their children in safe neighborhoods in appropriately sized and relatively private houses. They don’t want to have to worry about shootings or getting evicted because your roommate hasn’t paid his portion of the rent. There's a massive spectrum of financial outcomes between the two things you described.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 07:54 PM

There is a difference between being able to provide and maintaining socioeconomic standards / keeping up with the Joneses. A lot of men have the ability to provide but they don't have the ability to buy the nicest car or own a house in the nicest neighborhood. I don't see how any of these consumer aspects of life are biological, they are (relatively) recent, man-made creations. Anyway agree to disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 07:37 PM

We are wired to find men capable of providing for our children. Do you really think you're wired to find a man who makes a certain income or owns property? I think if the argument was that there is a biological urge to find men who have qualities associated with being a father, I'd get it. But there is nothing sexual or biological about money or being a homeowner. I also think a lot of men who are perceived as "lower income" would be great fathers and would be capable of doing so financially as …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 07:22 PM

is it really biological urge, or is it practicality. what does someone's income or owning their own house have to do with anything biological.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 07:00 PM

if they're older I let them go first, younger or my age depends on how fast I want to get off the elevator. Kids with parents let them go first too.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 06:25 PM

lol you can't reason with people like this, they have a superiority complex over men they don't find attractive. best to ignore and move on.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 05:50 PM

unless they have kids, I don't get why OP didn't move on years ago. something is missing in the story.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 05:43 PM

The message is asked all the time tacitly (do you make $100k a year, college educated, in shape, kind, responsible etc.) but this statement triggers people because it is done so in a confrontational manner. Often times it's how you ask a question rather than what you ask, which is fair as the way this question is phrased implies that the person you're asking brings nothing to the table. If you want to find someone for "who they are" find them in high school or college. After that, relationships …
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 09:27 AM

it's a consumer thing. kinda like the people obsessed with going to all the best restaurants or traveling to the most countries.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/23 08:37 PM

then I don't understand what is the purpose of explaining "hard mode benefits/obstacles to women."

Not questioning your intelligence at all, some of the smartest people I know were homeschooled. I was questioning whether you interacted with guys in a coed setting in high school or if times have changed when it comes to social gatherings for Gen Z. Any guy who goes to a school dance knows how attractive they are. I met a couple of Gen Z (Gen Alpha or whatever is current) guys recently who talked about how "going to prom" isn't a big deal and that they aren't going and my first thought was "wow…

TBH I think you base your conclusions on Internet comments and are treating that as some sort of "lived experience" (it isn't, online is fake reality) when a lot of men reach these conclusions based on their own experiences in real life. This is like a guy generalizing women based on comments online, which would be rightfully considered stupid. Or, it's selection bias, as in the guys who you match with on an online dating app (by definition considered attractive) have these views, therefore skew…

you're just wrong. Maybe you were homeschooled or something like that, but men know if they are attractive very, very early on. Or maybe you're Gen Z and you guys are less social. It's a taboo topic because nobody wants to call themselves unattractive.

Men have just as equally high standards for their partners or at least for whom they perceive as equals when it comes to looks. Not at all. But a part of maturing as an adult is not concerning yourself constantly with how you look.

Men know by the time they're in high school whether they are considered attractive or not. Can't speak for women, I'm a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 11:36 PM

I want to find a new job but the idea of doing a job hunt and finding something that significantly exceeds my comp seems difficult and not plausible. At best I'll find something similar, could be laid off with the upcoming recession, and would need to re-establish myself with new people.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 02:22 PM

most men learn that height is a trait that women care about in middle / high school. the only thing I've noticed is the standard for what is acceptable height has increased.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 02:03 PM

no shit, most people aren't wealthy. so pooled finances makes sense for them as it does for the vast, vast majority of people.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 09:30 AM

It's subjective what is "fair" dude. That's a common issue with a prenup.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 08:05 AM

doesn't seem simple at all, especially the last ask (what is "fair"). Anyway I don't trust YouTube University.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 08:01 AM

I agree, that's why I was wondering what this even means. The idea of a wealthy person getting an incompetent lawyer to do a prenup seems farfetched.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 07:58 AM

Yes a prenup isn't guaranteed if done incorrectly but if done properly can you explain what that means? There isn't a standard boilerplate version of a prenup?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/23 07:52 AM

A lot of women online barely interact with men, their viewpoints on "how men are" line up with some shitty podcast is proof of that. I say online because you can see the same sort of viewpoint on Twitter or any other social media site. perhaps the converse is true as well (men barely interact with women) but this is something I've noticed of late. people really need to get off the Internet and get to know people more.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/23 05:38 PM

common insults are a good way of recognizing what is considered unattractive: bald, jokes about someone's hairline, virgin, napoleon complex, small penis. plus the i-word that's banned.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/23 11:54 PM

lolz I don't trust the survey results of this sub, but I'm talking about the ppl in this thread. regardless (I could be wrong), there is no red pill majority on this thread ever.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/23 11:39 PM

it's *closer than your belief that this sub is "redpill majority" lol, that is straight up delusional.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/23 11:27 PM

because this sub has a redpill majority. no it doesn't, at least half of the people on this thread are women to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/23 11:21 PM

Let's be real here. The armies and military infrastructure would join the women's side and the ones on the men's side would get demolished.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/23 09:20 PM

I'm in my 20s still but it's always the ppl <22 who complain about anything negative online bc you've been sheltered online. Or maybe you're one of those kids whose parents didn't let you use the Internet, bc what is on Reddit today is tame compared to what was once here.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/23 09:15 PM

Not really, a lot of women care as well
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/23 06:56 PM

it's not worth it, we don't live in that sort of society anymore. Most people are not adept enough to strike up conversation with a stranger, but if they are they should use that skill in some sort of planned social activity. ppl aren't patient anymore to deal with inconvenience, which will happen when you meet someone new.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/23 04:16 AM

there are tradeoffs to any decision
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 06:20 PM

start with people who have a diagnosis. beyond that, probably need stricter background checks.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 05:24 PM

If you're mentally ill you shouldn't be allowed to own a gun. Majority of these shootings are mentally ill shooters, often times people with a diagnosis.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 05:12 PM

I've always had to show pay stubs (so not W2). I know a couple of people who were between work who showed bank balance/statements to pay rent for multiple years as proof of income.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/23 11:18 PM

everyone has gamed that shit to have a high score. You gotta be like a landlord and get bank statements, W2, shit like that lol on the app.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/23 11:08 PM

Sure but assets/income is a bigger issue because you could be dealing with someone with massive debt, horrible spending habits, all kinds of stuff like that which is harder to figure out quickly because there's no means of true verification. Age, height, and weight you can figure out quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/23 11:05 PM

it of course matters but you find out that info after meeting the person.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/23 11:03 PM

people lie about income all the time dude. besides your net worth is more valuable than income, I know tons of people who make 6 figures who have very little in savings/assets.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/23 11:00 PM

When *I say "men need to..." it's implied that it is my opinion that "men need to..." I'm not a politician and have no interest in forcing people to have my viewpoint, but this is what I think men should do.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/23 11:06 PM
2

Empathy is understanding that. This has no value to a man. Men need to find people who can help them accomplish their goals and ultimately this is done through a shared experience or someone who has something that can help them get there. Can come from anyone, but it needs to be from someone who is action-oriented. What I'm not open to is trite virtue signaling.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/23 10:43 PM
1

Lol it's useless for the person you're being empathetic to...for the person virtue signaling? Who knows, maybe it makes them feel better about themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/23 09:33 PM
1

No I understand the difference. I'm saying that empathy is useless in this context, it does more for the person expressing the "empathy" than the one getting it.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/23 09:22 PM

I'm more talking about empathy when it comes to being unsuccessful in something, especially when one's experiences are so different from the person describing their lack of success. Loss of a family member is a universal feeling that a lot of people experience FWIW.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/23 08:59 PM
1

Empathy is nonsense, it's infiltrated American discourse because we live in a society of extremes. Someone who hasn't struggled to do something will not understand the feelings of someone who has struggled. Find people who can help you accomplish whatever you want to accomplish or have been in your shoes and succeeded.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/23 07:35 PM
2

Lol they do. Educated and employed people (most of the people I know) can be boring AF.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/23 06:59 PM

well no shit. I don't know a single McDonalds worker in my social circle and more than a couple future lawyers and doctors. It's about who exists in your social circle, I'm not even RP or BP or any of these pills it's just obvious.

Which got me thinking, would a dating age single man even have any interest being friends with a woman his age who is solidly nailed down or married? No. Not only do I not want to make it awkward for this person's SO, but this doesn't happen, people in couples make friends with other people in couples. There are few married women trying to make friends with single men. Can I have a professional relationship with this person, of course.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/23 03:40 AM

if you're not going to have kids, not important. if you want kids, very important.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:54 PM

I'm a man. This could be through talking about them amongst each other or comparing notes on HOT porn stars/models singers whatever No average Joe thinks they can sleep with these women. It's fantasy, much like women who talk about Chris Pratt or Chris Pine or whoever is the it person in Hollywood. People want an escape from their dreary lives I guess, and that's why they choose to talk about scenarios that will never happen. I personally don't talk about this stuff with my friends, bc it's a ma…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:22 PM

strange take tbh, doesn't square with my experiences at all. most men don't even think they have a chance at "hot women" you learn that as a teenager.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/23 10:14 PM

wage inflation is a major part of overall inflation. you make minimum wage significantly higher, inflation goes up, rates go up, and every asset drops in value.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/23 05:35 AM

everyone is gonna say "stay single forever" but they're kidding themselves...there are way more marriages where people settle over single forever.

are you washing your hair daily? when I put in conditioner I wait 5-10 mins but I'm not washing my hair every day.

it's not entirely wrong. The amount of money it takes to get "mass amounts of freedom and flexibility" is high. Very few people will get there, I'd say 0.5-1% optimistically, and TBH many get there when they're old and don't have the same energy to use that freedom.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/23 12:31 AM

Arguing is only an issue when there's a massive personality or philosophical difference that can't be resolved. Without arguing sounds awesome to me though. Life is filled with people disagreeing with stuff I believe or say lmao. I'd like someone who agreed with me more.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/23 11:58 PM

it's a lame attempt at humble bragging. Imagine if this question was framed in the context of inadequacy in terms of career or money, you'd hear a bunch of people calling OP a douche.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/23 08:53 PM

I'm a guy but anything outside of flip flops I wouldn't think about
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/23 08:41 PM

a 5k is little over 3 miles lol. People who can't do that are in horrible shape.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/23 07:58 PM

"fundamental parts" of you are come from experiences, good or bad. My personality is that way because of that, not because I understood how the world worked when I was a kid. You should change who you are, especially if aspects of who you are are leading to failure.

There's nothing wrong with puerile humor. You're not more intelligent or enlightened because you dislike it.

Not gonna dox myself, but it's an elite academic institution that everyone I encounter daily (UMC and UC people) is impressed by. As far as my grades and standardized test scores, my standardized test scores were in the top 1%+.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/23 07:00 PM

Boys and men simply can’t compete with women on an academic level. Ofc they can. The gender ratios at all of the schools I went to were near 50/50. You sound clueless.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/23 06:53 PM

Lol no. And I say this as someone who has grown up in elite academic settings my entire life.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/23 06:51 PM

"Looking for a guy that can make me laugh" Not a thing outside of virtue signaling. People want to find others with similar cultural experiences imo, similar humor sometimes is that.

I'd feel way too guilty if someone was financing my career. I'd either look for a part-time job to ease their burden or tell them to move on from me if I was straining them too much financially.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/23 03:05 AM

if they didn't have kids I understand it in the case they have kids. Outside of that, I don't see why you would sacrifice your own growth if it's a childless relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/23 02:56 AM

it's called outgrowing someone, happens all the time in life. if they didn't have kids I don't see the issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/23 02:45 AM

Strange how you won't address my point directly. Do you believe most people on this sub have taken probability/inference at a college-level (not via Internet U) and have done academic research or read academic research in their chosen course of study? I'll answer that question for you, it's no.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/23 08:06 PM

They have the internet. exactly what is wrong with the world today. This idea that the "Internet" is the oracle of knowledge, when it's filled with misinformation and a dumbing down of how things actually are. You either have the tools to analyze and do academic research or you don't.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/23 07:43 PM

If this forum were filled with people who had taken college-level courses in probability/inference, had done some form of academic research or read a bunch of research papers in their field of study, I'd be more willing to discuss these things. But the reality is most people have no fucking clue what to look for when reading a research paper. People should stay away from citing research papers (especially if they don't know the h-index of the authors / # of citations) and maybe start with some b…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/23 07:21 PM

this is a shitposter online. if you live in a HCOL area, you pretty much need 2 incomes to buy a house, have money for kids, and save for college.
