I have to agree. There's something that's keeping OP from getting even small wins to build up a better mindset. Without seeing OP in action, that'll be hard to figure out. Take it from someone who struggled with self esteem issues handicapping me for the longest time. That shit reeks out and manifests in body language and female interaction. But at the time, I could never tell.

It comes off as needy. It sometimes works, especially if the girl is already really into you, or delivered wel. But many times it bombs since girls get needy texts from guys a LOT. It's an allergic reaction for women.

No you won't. Sure, it fills a yearning, and maybe you just want it out of your system... But chances are it won't. There will always be other prettier women and it'll never end. The good thing is you're already on the road to improvement, and you're doing good at that. As the others noted, she could really be sincere about it. That you're able to banter with her now is a huge win. You can translate that experience to better wins in the future. But no rush. Yeah it sucks. Take your time. But stand up and move forward regardless.

Sure, you're not born with height and other basketball related gifts... ... But self improvement? You owe that to yourself, regardless of women being in the picture or not. The basic idea I subscribe to is you're confident because you know you have value and can bring something to the table. That's the prize, the end goal. Attracting others comes much more easily after that.

Nah. You're 29. Lots of time, and it also happens to be usually the best time for a guy in terms of where you are in life. Ever since I started to actually strive to improve myself, it happened pretty quickly. Two years tops, especially considering I was really awkward for a while. Frankly, it was harder for me to find someone I liked for real. You'll do great, don't worry. I know exactly how you feel.
