Yeah, if anything I mostly hear this rhetoric coming from women. It's an issue that is often brought up by them: the feeling of being used for sex and avoid engaging in casual sex due to that feeling, sometimes to the point of condemning hookup culture. Even here there are women who recently have been linking that study showing that fewer people are participating in hookup culture than it seems, so I can't be that far off

You're right, but in a pragmatic point of view it's way cheaper for society to just give out free birth control instead of having to spend more in social subsidies, since people are going to have sex regardless of contraceptives. It's just one of those "life is unfair" situations where you have to deal with it

The scientific community is against gene editing on embryos because CRISPR method still have considerable chances of failure, and so editing chromosome helix on a developing human could have unpredictable consequences for the subject and the human gene pool in general. They're trying to be diplomatic because it's a sensitive topic, not necessarily because of morals.
