That’s cool, but you’re not a woman.

I usually do explain to the salesperson why I decided not to buy 😂

Make a joke about the lettuce at a supermarket. Approach her and introduce yourself at a bar. Ask what she’s drinking.

Easier said than done, but you’re right. I think I would have probably had a better shot if I did this a year ago, but I was going through my own personal issues and waited too long. Lots of fuck-ups here in retrospect regardless.

It is crazy how our brains make it feel like she’s the only girl out there we’ll ever like.

What should I do if I run into her around town? Which will likely happen at some point since we go to a lot of the same places. I think it’s best if I just let her approach me if she decides to, and if not I suppose we’ll awkwardly avoid each other...

Also I left out that this was the first time we chatted in months so I’m sure she wasn’t expecting it, so I don’t blame her if she wanted to think about it.

That’s true, and I’ve been doing that for every crush I’ve had. My high school crush has completely lost that vision in my eyes, so I think it will pass with time. I’m just a little bummed we didn’t even get a chance to see what could happen since we did hit it off last time we met, but that’s partly my fault (I didn’t include that part in the story and don’t want to go into detail.)

I really need to find ways to put myself out there, but I don’t have co-workers. Just to give you an idea, I’m tall, I do drive, I’m getting in better shape, and I make a respectable amount of money. All of that doesn’t really matter, but it helps. Yet I haven’t dated a girl in years. Part of it is I don’t feel ready for it since I think I need to be in perfect shape, tan, etc. to be with a girl.

Where do you meet girls?

I hate to say it but I feel like I’ve never met a girl that’s more perfect for me. That feeling will probably fade eventually, but it hurts a bit now that it didn’t work out and I wasn’t really expecting it to. It’s probably unhealthy that I’ve been friends with her on social media for over a year and we barely messaged, then I was so forward with her.

You’re probably right, I just feel like we hit it off when we met and we share a lot of the same interests. It’s a long story but I think it could’ve gone a different way if I didn’t wait so long afterwards to start messaging her. It hurts man, and I didn’t think it would.

My problem is I’m too selective. I don’t talk to many girls and I rarely ask girls out. This was the first time since high school sadly. I do end up talking to a lot of girls if I use a dating app but it ends up being wasted time because I rarely find any I like and it usually doesn’t lead anywhere with the attractive girls, even ones who like to talk everyday.

To be honest I only sent the other messages with the intent of immediately unsending them, which I know is stupid. If Instagram didn’t have that option I doubt I would have sent any messages after that at all. I planned beforehand not to look at her story or send any more messages until she responded, but my pride got the best of me unfortunately.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
