Came here to confirm because this happened to me and consequently the girl figured out that she loved me more than her husband. I'm not at all saying you are selfish in any way but he is most likely a romantic if he is shy and it's very dangerous territory. In this case, you have to take his emotions into account because believe me, its soul crushing.

Check if there are any social sports clubs or kickball clubs. Usually these are co-ed mandatory AND 21 and over on age due to teams drinking after games. This makes it so damn easy to interact with girls because you can really just start out by talking about the game. If you played her team, a little playful smack talk gets them smiling and playful.

My favorite is nicknames. Give a girl a nickname and refer to them by that. Everyone else will call her by her name which makes you stand out. Don't start a text with "hey" or "what's up". Moved to Dallas. I only knew one person but she worked nights so we didn't hang out too much. I joined a co-ed sports and social league. Lonestar Sports and Social Club to be exact (incase you want to get more info on what kind organization it is). Lots of girls and it isn't just going to a bar. You can have friendly competitions.
