Data and statistics and averages do not reflect an individual's lived experience. If I've been on a team at work for 5 years, and find out the new employee is being paid the same wage as me despite not having the level of experience I have, no amount of statistical data is going to make me think my situation is fair.

It isn't about the people. It's about the principles. Not about who counts as feminist but what counts as feminism.

Well, that's why you go with princples over personalities. If people actually acknowledged the principles (of, say feminism, liberalism, conservatism,) and didn't base their opinions of entire philosophies on the personalities following them, we might actually be able to talk to each other instead of past each other.

Idk why this got a downvote. Truly there is no such thing as a misandrist feminist. Just like there is no such thing as a misogynist feminist (this'll sound crazy but I am finding some folks in the "feminist" sub have that very issue and it is making me about as insane as progressives being anti-progress and liberals being illiberal, 😭 smdh).

Feminism is advocacy for women, It is not only that, though. It is also a philosophy and an academic discipline. Those are not "incidental." People really cannot pick and choose only the philosophy and advocacy parts, while leaving the discipline part on the table (lord knows people try to, though).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
