12	English woman murders boyfriend cruelly after argument - isn't this domestic violence? This is indeed domestic violence but it is not described as such. It seems that DV is only ever presented in the news media as a male-on-female phenomenon. It's like some sort of universal agreement amongst news organisations to ignore the elephant in the room and determinedly avoid mentioning DV when women are the perpetrators. If a man kills his girlfriend, it's the "ultimate in spousal abuse". If a woman kills her boyfriend, as in this case, it's murder or manslaughter, but never DV.
