I’m honestly surprised she’s continuing to make him food. That would’ve been the last meal I made for the time even if I stayed in the relationship (which I’m not recommending).

I’m pretty sure I have adhd and my step mom liked to tell me I have autism but I want to get a diagnosis. I held myself to higher standards than past relationships. I realized that I deserve someone who works on themselves as much as I work on myself. Thankfully I have that now.

Agreed. I know a man with high functioning autism and it’s no excuse. He treats women with respect and does not invalidate what they say. I’m sure he has some quirks others would not be ok with in a dating scene, but nothing scrote-worthy from what I’ve seen (my “friend” (jury is still deciding) without autism is more of a scrote imo) Just because they have problems adjusting socially does not excuse LVM behavior

That’s what I realized in college. I used to be a pick me and was butthurt when I never had stories to tell about guys hitting on me. My friends all told me how intimidated they were of me when we first met, and I realized that I unwittingly protected myself. I’m 4’9” so it has to be all in my face lol

No respectable 20 year old would want to date a 16 year old anyway 🥴

I always told people “friends are like a Yelp review. If no one else is your friend, why would I want to be yours?” And god forbid I date someone I don’t even like.

I am childless and I don’t want a husky, and they’re one of my favorite breeds. I feel so sorry for OOP

My grandma snores (at least she did) and my grandpa would joke about it but never treated her poorly for it. I snored in college but I had dorm mates and it got really bad when I went overseas and had people hear me for two weeks. That’s when I went to a sleep study and found out I had apnea. I just don’t understand how men don’t want to make their own lives better. I got it checked out because 1) I hated inconveniencing others and 2) I couldn’t stay awake past 1 pm and it was getting hella anno…

This. When I saw that comment as a reason to do it I was conflicted because I know I’m still young in the ways of FDS but I always believe that if I don’t want others to do it I shouldn’t do the same.

Back when I was a pick me I used to feel self conscious because scrotes never hit on me (I know 🤢 in my defense, I didn’t know they were scrotes at the time, I just felt unwanted). I realized a few years ago my RBF and no nonsense attitude is what saved me from their games. I’m so grateful I accidentally honed that energy for so long because now it’s second nature and I can use it to my advantage.

Oof I feel this one. Told me I was the only one who made him feel normal haha ☠️ when he got with his new girl, we were still “friends” and he told me she made him feel “normal.” By that time I had been in FDS for a few months and I realized homeboy had some problems if he couldn’t feel normal without a relationship.

Yeah. I hate it when anybody (men or women) feel the need to try to prove me wrong when I state an opinion. It’s even worse when it’s a dealbreaker for a relationship. And that was just point #1. Point #’s 2 & 3 just give me weird feelings. I would let this one go IMO

This is literally the only thing my partner won’t do and it’s so frustrating. We’re working on it but it’s slow going. I’m so glad you are able to experience this now, hope he doesn’t let up!

I agree with you, but in this case I think of the John Mulaney bit where people just don’t know what to offer you if you don’t drink. Drinking alcohol has become the norm and people don’t seem to have the synapses to figure out what to do after step 1. offer drink But yeah no I totally agree that scrotes who offer nothing other than alcohol are predatory as fuck

I chased a LVM (also a streamer lol) for 6-12 months. Would literally never do anything except play video games while he played his PC. Maybe 3 times total we went out to do something. Otherwise it was playing d&d or hanging in his room. I honestly can’t believe I put up with that for so long. He was also an alcoholic and couldn’t bother to get up for me most of the time. So I left. This was still pre-FDS for me, but I knew that if I’m in a sexless FWB situation, it’s a worthless relationship. I…

I really enjoy Jacob Collier. I don’t really listen to his lyrics but the ones I pay attention to seem less about relationships and more about the music. He’s super creative with making music out of everyday objects.

It’s amazing how annoyed I’ve gotten at the radio since I started reading up FDS. Even the female led songs are so pickme.

I have a question and I hope it’s not stupid or naive. Idk I’m anxious. I’m in a 1.5 year relationship and I was a pickme when I started the relationship, but a few months in I found FDS and have been reading the posts. I want to have higher standards for myself and my relationship, but idk how to bring it up without him being like “we’ve gone this long why are we changing now” bs.

It’s not necessarily a pick me thing. I am asexual and I enjoy the act of sex because I’m pleasing someone else, not because I necessarily care or need to have an orgasm. Sometimes I finish, sometimes I don’t, but it’s ok with me. Edit: in reference to keeping it to oneself, sure maybe she shouldn’t have said it in a way that makes it sound like every women should accept not finishing, but I also remember thinking I was broken because I rarely wanted to keep going after my partner finishes. I wa…

Wait, is the “I’m getting ripped tonight, RIP…” song about sex? I could never figure out the lyrics past those words but I never got those vibes 😳 that’s troubling

Lol that was my first thought when I read your OG comment. It’s a tv show about a woman whose husband leaves her because he’s insecure in his ability to do comedy so he screws his secretary and she goes off and becomes a hit comedienne.

Yeah, I mean there’s probably other stuff he eats lol but those were the staples. I was quite put off by it and am happy to say I now have a partner who cooks more (and sometimes better) than me.

I tend to avoid men who are too close to their mothers, in like an enmeshed way (she does everything for him, or he excuses toxic behaviors in her because they allow for misogyny, etc). That’s the biggest one for me. I suppose if they’re too close to their dad it can be one too, if their dad engrained into them misogynistic views as well, but that’s seems to be less of a hidden problem than one that shows itself on date #1

Yep, started seeing a guy, found out early he only eats chicken nuggets and pizza if he isn’t forced. We’re still friends but it would never have worked out romantically lol

He wants to marry a virgin but also wants to be intimate with her? Obviously he doesn’t see her as wife material; she needs to reconsider a relationship with someone who views her like that.

This inspires me. I want to move to New York, I have a roommate wanting me to move in with them, and I can potentially advance my career. My boyfriend doesn’t want to move to a city. Me thinks imma not negotiate with him anymore. If he wants me he can move with me, but I’ve been dreaming of this since I knew I wanted to be an entertainer. Thank you Liz!
