I am a 42 yo married man so take what I say with that in mind. I belong to a Catholic parish in the Midwest. Here, most youth fall away from the church in college and return when they have kids. Men are somewhat less likely to attend than women but are active with the Catholic school, school sponsored sports, and church social fundraisers. So my insight is that just because someone is not active currently does not mean that they never will be active. If they were raised in a faith, do not outrig…

It was very generous of you to give my question such consideration. Thank you. The thing that most concerns me is that my business interest is considered as an asset to be divided and as part of my personal income. This is substantially different than any other asset/investment (You don't consider earning from an IRA when determining spousal support). This seems overly punitive to small business owners if their business has any value beyond current year's income.

Since you seem knowlegible on the subject can you approximate what would happen to me financially if I got divorced? We married long before we owned anything or had any income disparity so no prenup. Not planning one just curious. My W2 income 240,000 full time Her W2 income 60,000 30 hours I own part of my company which provides around 220,000 of K1 income and is valued at 1.2 million We have several financial accounts titled either in separate retirement accounts or jointly totaling another 1.…

I am confused regarding your Nate Silver comments. His last article prior to the election gave Trump a 29% chance of winning and described why the race was closer than many polls appeared. He does not stake his career on being right any more than the weather man calling for a chance of rain. Fivethirtyeight.com for any that are interested.

I'm a CFA I am a CFA charterholder. Just busting your balls. I have a similar background as u/athridos. Everything he wrote is on point. The one thing that I need to add is that Red Pill philosophy is morally agnostic. I don't care what a company supports as long as it benefits me. Just as in I don't care if the world is going in the shitter due to feminism or any other curse of the modern world as long as I am happy. The investment strategy that is most red pill and has the best chance to outpe…

I spend about an hour a week playing games. I once played a fair amount of Dota but your skill level can't be maintained with only an hour a week. I still read the patch notes and enjoy the deep strategy in the game but my game mechanics are lacking. Does anyone have a game suggestion that is deeply strategic in the vein of Dota but is not so mechanically demanding?

Delegating the checkbook to her did not work. It sounds like you need to take charge, not necessarily so that you can buy your country club membership, but to improve your financial lives. Living paycheck to paycheck sucks. Institute a fair budget, communicate with your wife, and manage to that budget. If you are your family leader this is your responsibility. Even if you are delegating it to your wife you are ultimately responsible just as you might be responsible if one of your subordinates at…

If you want authority over the money then you can and should take authority. Per the captain / first mate model I delegate bill payment to the wife and rarely review it. I manage big picture financial decisions and share my decisions and our overall financial picture to the wife. She will tell me if our checking account # is getting too big or small but does not feel the need to share every detail. This works for us but admittedly it is pretty easy since we live well below our means and my wife …

What if women then eliminate 80% of the men from this app? Then we left with 4% of men enjoying the new app. 80% are screened out based on technology and 16% are screened out by women being selective.

I am in the same age bracket and the youngest partner at a medium sized investment management company. Your list works for my industry. I have two things to add: if you get the chance for publicity, publishing papers, media interviews, public speaking, take it and give 100%. Though the effort might not seem worth it at the time it contributes to your stature among your coworkers and industry (social proof?). work in a field that can be highly leveraged. The OP worked in software where his produc…

I am 35 and married 10 years. My marriage is accidentally more red pill than blue because we both grew up in the Midwest US under traditional values. I have kept more in tune to Red Pill ideas for the last 9 months and our marriage has improved accordingly. We have a 2 year old boy and plan on having another in a year or so. I don't have feelings about wanting kids. Heck I don't have feelings about most things. But I do know that I want children whether by tradition or just genetic programming. …
