I don't know but I was in your position for a very long time until recently. Tinder takes out all the crap of having to approach random people (and potentially get rejected). You only match with girls who like you as well. Chat for a bit and then arrange a meetup. I've had good success with it.

Who should I talk to in situations like this? It may be irrational but these places will usually be full of groups of people that are mostly existing friends. I just feel like I would be intruding sometimes and I don't want someone to throw out the line "...why don't you go and hang out with your own friends?", which happened to me a year or so ago when I approached a group and unfortunately I kind of took it to heart (probably, also irrational thinking).
