It's interesting that a child is not considered a man's responsibility until it is born. But it is consistent with men not being legally responsible for costs, or lost wages during pregnancy. There is an argument that men should share in those costs, but potenial at the cost of a woman's full control of her own pregnancy.

Just my anecdote, but as an engineering student the male to female ratio of my classmates was about 50-to-1. Now I can honestly say the engineering firm I work for hires on qualifications over diversity or culture, and yet we still have a 2or3-to-1 ratio men to women engineers, which I think is quite high. I have wondered how so many qualified women engineers end up at our companies if others weren't passing on them.
