I joined a band. If you have or want to take up an instrument it is the best way to learn, plus you enter into a social group you likely would never meet otherwise. Most musicians have other careers and do it just for fun, so it can be a great way to get quality time with other guys and do something that also carries high SMV as a bonus. It's one thing to go and see bands, but it's a whole other level to tell girls to come and see you on stage performing.

Get a workout partner who's a female. Watch her hamster kill itself spinning with that one.

First thing you need to do is find the general price point for training. Check out local gym rates, and google other independent trainers in the area. For the start simply position yourself in the middle, maybe slightly lower than the going rate. I generally don't advocate free sessions ever - it devalues the service, and service is what you are selling. You need to give people value for what you are doing instead, for example offering to go through their kitchens and cabinets to help with their…

Two routes to being a trainer independently: 1) Work for a chain gym for 12-18 months, build a clientele and then take them with you independently. At a chain gym it is much easier and faster to get busy full time (under 3 months if you are good and can sell yourself), but you make less money overall during that time. Also a fantastic place to network and make connections that you will need later on. Exposure to many different types of clients and you can also learn from the other trainers with …

Two words: slow cooker. Best investment you can make. Pile ingredients in, turn on and leave it either during the day or overnight (I prefer overnight so I can eat the stuff for breakfast) - allrecipes as someone else referenced has tons of easy meals that are cheap, and you can make many servings to freeze or keep in fridge for up to 3 days. Chili: ground turkey, kidney beans, chickpeas, corn and veggies of your choice, tomato sauce for liquid and spices. Tons of protein, fiber and you can cust…

Can confirm this for myself, but want to express a slightly different angle. I've been singing for many years in bands but only a year ago found a group where we actually perform regular gigs. Formerly I was way too self conscious. Often we get video taped, and even though I feel confident on stage and have compliments on my voice and performance, after our first major gig, my posture was horrible the whole time. It was like my inner lack of confidence came out in how I was standing. The fact I …

My comment might be slightly different (even though I agree with what has been said so far) but my job lends itself to dealing with people with no alternative. If you are a big guy and have no hope of losing weight, why not get hugely strong? There are lots of women out there into guys who can toss them around and are jacked. I'd say if you have no better choice, keep getting healthy but lift a ton and use your size to your advantage. It might not make you an 8 to most women, but it would to som…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
