From my understanding of endo, would it eventually grow back though? And then require another surgery.

If anyone read the books- I missed Michael in this movie! also kind of disliked the romantic interest they gave Mia in this movie. In the books, Michael is totally a HVM by the end.

I’m from the same background and would be interested to hear more about picking up on red flags. I absolutely have a bit of a blind spot.

Don’t approve of her giving up her career at all but also VERY possible it was unrelated. Having children is difficult in the profession and it’s very physically demanding- many ballerinas experience joint problems and pain because of the stress constantly experienced whilst dancing. So retiring in your thirties as a dancer and finding a new direction is not uncommon at all, especially if you want to start a family.

It’s funny that she’s taken on the responsible ‘parent’ role of planning travel for him. It’s actually fun to plan holidays, I’m not sure why this dude can’t book a plane or a hotel/read a guidebook at the age of 30. Things are so easy nowadays and you don’t even need to call a travel agent, you literally just click on a website and you’re done!

It’s so naive and privileged to write off the suffering of millions of women and underaged girls (very often POC) as ‘empowering sex work’. These women have their passports taken away, their liberty stolen from them and they have practically no way of getting out themselves. There is literally nothing less empowering.

Essentially I’ve heard she rebuffed his advances when he first saw her in person and he was humiliated - it was apparently traditional for a King to come to his bride dressed as a peasant and try to kiss her, so he came up to her in front of the court and she just refused to let him. That was humiliating so he came up with a story about her being ugly.

To be fair nofap is also delusional to an extent - men reporting refraining from masturbation changes their appearance or their height. They problematise masturbation itself and it seems like actual anti pornography sentiment takes a back seat.

“Body positivity” as a movement is centred around women baring more of their bodies to be sexualised and objectified. Body positivity as a concept is healthy for self esteem but the way it’s been executed is not ‘positive’ for women.

the problem with euphemising those words is that suddenly nobody thinks of being cold, hungry, beaten up by a trafficker or having your documents stolen. Women who are trafficked have much worse problems than being referred to as prostitutes. Uplifting them takes much more than changing what we call those women!

Please remember that FDS is now in a more and more vulnerable position- it’s likely keeping that name and specific identifying references out of our comments will help to keep it up.

Just to let you know, that mod actively searches for any mention of the name to ban users from Reddit. Unfortunately although O has female owners, not all spaces are reserved for women on there either. Edit- apparently they have been fired but I’d tread carefully anyway as the mods have no reasonable excuse to claim it wasn’t censorship but “doxxing protection”
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/03/21 08:34 AM

They can ban you just for writing that name out - and they probably will. I prefer Lord P****mort like many other users.

Honestly 3 years is a LOT when you are a teenager. If you’re 15 dating an 18 year old, there are big differences in maturity. You can’t even consent to sex at 15 or drink legally in the UK - 18 year olds are very different IMO. I’d say one or two years max.

I’m confused here- rape on women overwhelmingly involves vaginal penetration. Nobody is forgetting that women are the victims here and that men are the perpetrators with responsibility for rape. Surely any protection against men is better than none though?

The idea is that they “pollute” the original population as a generation of children are half invader. Over time, the invaders genes could be more common than the genes of the original ethnicity. Or at least I think that’s what their thinking was then.

And when women do critically think, we’re accused of wanting sex workers to be hurt or killed or that they deserve to be exploited and deprived of legal protection. The fact remains that if these women were protected, educated and supported, they would not turn to prostitution to survive.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/01/21 08:36 PM

I would totally agree with you. I was NOT ready for sex at 16, let alone pregnancy. I don’t shame women who get pregnant that young, hell my bff is a young mum, but there is such a toll on the developing female body and a higher risk of death and complications for mum and for baby. Nobody in their right minds should defend an even lower age of consent.

Women learn to feel threatened very early and even subconsciously- threatened physically, emotionally, sexually. Men CAN and DO overpower women physically and women are all aware of this deep down- when being submissive prolongs your life, its something you absorb.

Glad to hear about the verification processes! I think the subs been gaining a higher profile recently which led me to question the rumour.

It was actually a woman who mentioned it- I hoped it wasn’t true but some subs have very sloppy verification techniques. Glad to know fds doesn’t.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/12/20 05:38 PM

oh yes, those subs haven’t been feminist for years. I just worry for this sub because it’s one of the last remaining feminist subs on reddit.

I’d also maybe add that it’s also a cultural thing in some Asian countries that wearing a short skirt is much less of a ‘big deal’ than, for example, a low neckline. That’s an interesting point about hyper femininity, I hadn’t heard about that happening in Japan!

It’s on anime planet for free, legally:) I loved the manga aha.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/12/20 04:52 PM

I’m sure it has a few tropes and outfits that could be judged as short- though I don’t think it caters to the male gaze and there is no real misogyny as I’d classify it. It’s written by a female author and the positive bonds between women are really pleasant and wholesome.

awh I hope she succeeds and feels healthier! I think that any progress is good progress, the media has always insulted women by calling them either fat, frigid, or crazy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/12/20 12:52 PM

Thank you for this! They are NOT women’s subs anymore. Look at the disclaimers in their sidebars that specifically say they are subs for men 😂 and all the male centred discourse.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/12/20 12:51 PM

Haha there is absolutely no radfem ideology allowed there. Or in two “X” chromosomes as both subs are full of men and handmaidens.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/12/20 12:49 PM

She’s quite a petite woman so that’s mainly why I think, 140 lbs can look big on a woman at 5’3 or less. apart from the misogyny that goes into calling women fat.

You’re welcome! Hysteric is definitely sexist when used against women.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/11/20 06:29 PM
18

Hysterectomy is NOT sexist or offensive. The word “hysteric” is. It stems from the Greek word for uterus, which is “hyster”. Similarly - tracheotomy or salpingectomy are greek derived words used for medical procedures. Men used hysteric to disparage women because ofc a woman’s uterus is the reason for her sadness. But the actual etymology is not sexist nor should it be taken that way.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/11/20 10:23 AM

Totally agreed :) I generalised a lot but the main point is that no slight increase in pleasure is really worth the risk of disease from a scrote 😷
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/11/20 02:52 PM

100%. Women are guilted into unprotected sex- it does NOT feel better for the woman without a condom. Never put your reproductive health or your body at risk from an arsehole who wants to use you like a flesh light.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/20 05:48 PM

No, silly, women just need to be penetrated and that’s enough for them/s
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/11/20 01:17 AM

I don’t think any man can relate to the female experience- it’s something that they just can’t fathom. Of course I sympathise with men who have been sexually harassed or abused, but the vast majority of sufferers are women.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/11/20 01:12 PM
11

Lol and men think they have it worse than women... literally bc of being born women, girls are are sexually harassed non stop, catcalled, have their freaking pets assaulted. Ffs.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/11/20 11:13 AM
27

Since the purge of so many feminist or woman-only subreddits, this can only be expected. Reddit is run by men, ffs the mods in the so called “feminist” sub are also ALL men iirc. FDS is almost the only female-run sub that still exists.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/11/20 02:10 PM
38

If men have issues, they are ALWAYS the fault of other men. Male on male violence, the patriarchy, toxic masculinity- only one common denominator 😶
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/10/20 05:21 PM
48

LMAO she is wasted on Two “X” chromosomes, that sub is absolutely overrun with pickmes and men who don’t even make an effort to hide that they are men. Love how they had to clarify that their sub name is super misleading because they can’t bear to offend men who want to be part of the club.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/10/20 05:20 PM
56

There have been studies that examined male and female brains and found essentially NO difference- never let a scrote tell you you are intellectually inferior. Women live longer, are more loyal, are way less violent and are more likely to get better grades than men.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/10/20 08:58 AM
29

Because leaving would mean relinquishing control. It’s not that they don’t want to be in a relationship with the woman- they get off on punishing and hurting women, and the easiest way to do that is to be their partner.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/10/20 10:08 AM
19

This is SO TRUE- my NVM ex only really has female friends because he’s good at manipulating women.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/10/20 06:23 PM

I think the point is more for men matching your level of commitment to the relationship- if you do eventually want to get married (and this is the case for many women) you might waste years of your life with a man who doesn’t want to commit to marriage. Similarly- you may want a committed relationship but if a man refuses to commit or it’s a “situationship” that drags on for years, you should know it’s time to end it and find a man who suits you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/10/20 05:57 PM
25

Yep. And also- engaging in a relationship with any man who tells you he is “just waiting for his divorce” or “can’t break it to his wife and kids” is total LVW behaviour as well.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/10/20 12:01 AM
2

I think it’s all to do with socialisation- men and women’s brains (though it’s often touted that they are different) are actually overwhelmingly similar. I think the socialisation of most women favours the idea that women need to make up for the tact that men lack, even if it’s not to their benefit.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/10/20 06:25 PM
11

I think that it’s definitely societally encouraged for women to give second chances to dodgy men - you’d never really see a man deciding to show up to this date, but women feel the obligation to be nicer and forgiving towards men. She probably feels like she can’t cancel the date without him calling her a bitch.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/10/20 08:42 AM
9

I think there’s the odd really good looking man but it’s not some sort of haven of Henry Cavills unfortunately aha. Also the common trends aren’t massively appealing to me- like those super short fades. I do quite like the 90s throwback hair that’s popular in the US now tho, hopefully it comes across the pond.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/10/20 01:29 PM
45

The UK definitely has a lot of ugly men - just hang around a local pub and see the beer bellies come out 😂 I live here and the US seems attractive in that more men seem to take care of themselves in terms of skin, hair, dental work. And that awkward fade haircut seems much less popular!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/10/20 08:57 AM
6

They’re not truly feminists either- they’re more likely to go along in public, but it’s still very acceptable to perpetuate misogyny.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/09/20 08:37 AM
11

Why would you want to marry someone who wouldn’t bother saving up to get you the best ring he can? Your relationship is an investment- don’t cheap out on it.

How hard is it to understand that lesbians don’t want anything to do with your NV penis?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/09/20 12:58 PM
2

It sounds like she’s been brainwashed by RP subs.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/09/20 12:35 PM
18

I don’t think it’s especially prevalent. Being very thin with smaller hips was very fashionable in the 90s but the most aspired type of body is either petite and curvy or taller and still curvy with larger hips. I’ve never seen any woman aspiring to a super thin look these days unless they suffer from an eating disorder.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/09/20 07:00 PM

Sometimes birds have pretty strict gender preferences and can’t stand women if the previous owner was male! Though dogs are more likely to react this way after abuse and as violence is more common in men, it’s probably reflected in dogs being scared around men.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/09/20 06:37 PM
19

Yep, I’ve watched too many episodes of Criminal Minds to trust a man taking me on a hike in the woods. More importantly, the flashbacks from my first date with my NVM ex - when I let him take me walking for an hour in the freezing cold ://
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/09/20 08:43 AM
54

It’s sad for them too as they’ve just internalised gender stereotypes. If you are a woman, whatever you are is feminine. If you have short hair, a straight waist, have non traditional interests like science or engineering, if you don’t wear dresses or makeup - you’re still a woman and it’s your birthright.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/09/20 11:05 AM

It is so sad to see women supporting sex trafficking. Yes, there might be a small fraction of escorts/prostitutes who do it out of their own choice but it is infinitesimal in comparison to the women who are forced or who feel they have no other choice but to sell their bodies while risking rape, physical abuse or murder. So many women are trafficked for sex every day. Are they empowered?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/09/20 02:03 PM

Literally just take a look on any of the “lesbian” subs on Reddit 🙄
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/09/20 11:23 PM

I do think that a woman does not have to be abused to recognise the constant THREAT of abuse (be that emotional, physical or sexual). Also people classify abuse in different ways, emotional abuse is typically hard for victims to recognise in the first place.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/09/20 08:10 AM

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/07/20 04:01 PM

All women need body fat at the stomach (you’ll notice it a little lower just above your iliac crests) to protect the uterus and ovaries.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/07/20 04:07 AM

That sub is full of men who do not wish to support women, ironically.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/07/20 03:48 PM

I love how they have to put a disclaimer that it isn’t actually a space for people with two X chromosomes 🙄

I would agree!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/07/20 12:12 PM

Another thing to look out for is fetishising unfortunately- for WOC often we are exoticised and “shown off” in a negative manner or by someone who thinks they are your white saviour 🙄 it’s a real minefield out there.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/07/20 11:29 AM
17

I find it very telling that people involved in BDSM relationships refuse to see the inherent sexism in the community or even in the stereotypical dynamic (older, dominant guy and younger, submissive woman). More concerning is that many men will often try to guilt or persuade women into BDSM activities because it’s “sexy” or “cool” to enjoy it, whether the women actually find it sexy or not. The video porn industry just perpetuates this and normalises this sort of sex.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/07/20 07:49 PM

I feel like Y I K E S is the only appropriate response to that mess of a message.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/07/20 07:43 PM

It’s just ridiculous. Women are expected to do so much more when it comes to housework as well as work and take care of the kids. After all, who needs to pull their weight when they know their spouse will be conditioned into taking care of it all because it’s “women’s work”?
