You need to do what’s best for your children. If you sell the house, will they be able to stay in the same school? If they go to private school, is there more affordable housing that’s still convenient to the school? Is moving going to be even more disruption? If you have several kids, will they be going from having plenty of room and their own space to sharing rooms? You guys have both (assuming she was actually cheating with the guy in the house) made mistakes. It’s time to try to minimize the…

Hugs to you. There are lots of women that care about how tall a guy is but there are just as many who are looking for someone funny, honest, reliable, and is a great kisser and they absolutely do not care how tall he is. I don’t think 5’5” is even that short. You won’t be alone forever but you have said you have things you need to work on. I think you need to try to be single for at least six months and spend that time focusing on creating stability for your kids and you. Do not jump immediately…

Women that you were dating said they sensed weakness and broke up their families? Where are you meeting women?

That is not at all true (with most women). Many of us like the emotional intimacy that comes with sharing vulnerability. That said, she may have some serious issues of her own that make it especially hard to deal with anger or insults that are directed at her. Maybe something you said hurt her and she’s using the new person feel validated. It doesn’t matter- you have recognized what you can do better in a new relationship and you will find someone who loves you and that relationship can benefit …

So a train wreck all the way around. Not a great foundation for a healthy relationship. Lucky your kid has one stable parent with decent judgment

Maybe but not at all likely. What she’s doing doesn’t matter. Someone else will love you with all of her heart and she’ll be amazing. Hang in there.

It isn’t your fault and it doesn’t matter whose fault it is. Her relationship is a rebound relationship that will probably wind up being regrettable. I know it’s a cliche, but you will feel better if you start working out, especially if you can manage grueling workouts that just exhaust you. Your child is so lucky to have a caring dad who is paying attention to him and you’re lucky to have this one on one time with him. You are not a loser.

I’m sure there is a lot to the story. It doesn’t matter whose fault it is or what you’ve done in the past. Take responsibility for it, make amends where possible and forgive yourself. All that matters now is your future.

All I’m saying is he’s not weak in any way for doing whatever he thinks is best for his kids.

If it’s over, does it matter how he looks in her eyes? Is worrying about how he’s perceived going to help him get over her or just create more anxiety when he’s already facing more than he thinks he can handle? OP, maybe it’s over but if I (a woman) said that to my partner I would be looking for reassurance and hoping to find it. Not letting you down easy and damn sure not thinking about a coworker or someone who says I “can do better.” There are exceptions, but most women are socialized their w…

Being a supportive spouse to someone who is struggling, which your wife clearly was, is not being a simp. You didn’t do anything wrong. Despite what people will tell you on here, do not look at your stbx as the enemy. See her as someone you can no longer directly help or be responsible for. Treat her as a co-worker and your job is raising amazing kids. See this as your chance to make a fresh start without the dead weight of her anxiety and depression and the catastrophic financial decisions that…

We (women who do not want to kick things up a notch) are out there but we are probably older (late thirties/forties) so brighter days are ahead, my friend. As far as the “it’s like clockwork …as soon as they get comfortable “ I wonder if that’s a birth control thing? I might be wrong but a lot of forms of birth control kill a woman’s sex drive and I often wonder if men realize that.

Don’t give up on the idea of being an active father with your existing kids yet. As your kids age into their tweens and teens they’ll begin to distance from their mother and they’ll need you more than ever. Hang in there. Fathers matter and the input you have in your kids’ lives now is more impactful than you realize.

I am Christian. I believe many things in the Bible are collections of stories from Jewish culture. I believe this particular verse reflects an ancient people explaining why humans feel pain while giving birth and other animals do not appear to.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
