I just clicked on the link to that sub. Subscribed. Seems like a bunch of funny shit posts and men with legitimate issues, but most of it seems pretty accurate. Thanks!

The biggest benefit is total autonomy in every aspect of my life. If I make mistakes, I have no one to blame but myself - which inevitably leads to more learning moments and self-reflection. When I achieve any of my goals I can give myself a pat on the back knowing that I alone am reaching my full potential with my own decisions. I am much more action-oriented and in control. I am much more motivated - but also have much more time and money to engage in self-care endeavours. Very little stress. …

I'm playing Mario Odyssey this weekend with one of my best friends. We usually plan to get together when there are big releases and gaming, music, travel, fishing, and good food always brings us together. Their place is definitely worth the drive out of town and a perfect place to relax near the lake. I'll have a drink for all of us. Have a great weekend out there, boys.

Young lad, read Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations. If you can’t find it, google quotes from it. Here’s a great quote: *”Independence and unvarying reliability … to be the same in all circumstances—intense pain, the loss of a child, chronic illness … a man can show both strength and flexibility … accept favors from friends without losing your self-respect or appearing ungrateful. … fatherly authority in the home … Gravity without airs. To show intuitive sympathy to friends, tolerance to amateurs and s…

I've had a few long-term partners who drained me in many ways. I won't deny that I may have played a part in in - namely, not establishing appropriate expectations and boundaries. Perhaps I may have been distant, aloof, unhappy. In any case, that arrangement was simply not for me. I have learned and grown from these experiences and have no ill will against any of my former partners. They were also learning. However, damn it feels good to not have any worries and to do things for myself. Being a …

Exactly. It's liberating when you push aside societal pressures, expectations, and archaic norms. Basically my philosophy is you do you and I do me. I don't judge others' decisions and do not sway from my path due to the percieved judgement of others.

Thank you. I think we need to teach young men and boys that failing isn't failure, but a learning moment. Dwelling on percieved mistakes rather than reflecting and learning from them - this is what's made me(I think) a better person. It took me awhile, but I believe that you'll get there - just think of the steps you've already taken and the lessons you've already learned so far.

Posted this to /r/canada and got 300 upvotes in 2 hours. There was some realy rational discussion free of hate etc. Was removed because it "didn't directly relate to Canada."

I'm in a female dominated field (social work) which is mostly taking care of issues that men face such as unemployment, suicide, and homelessness. So I suppose that as a male, I'm not going to complain about women wanting better compensation in this field...It's depressing what our society has come to, but I have to remain positive because it's going to get much worse before it gets better for us, boys. I still think that this is engineered, or some sort of structural tomfuckery brought on by th…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
