Nope, I broke up with her a yea rago.

Interesting post, thanks. Not to continually talk about me, but as an addition to this situation - I remember telling her, "If you found out I was messaging my ex behind your back while at bars, and then writing how I knew it was wrong to do, what would you do?" She cursed at me, said, "Fuck you I did nothing wrong," and that was that. Haven't heard since.

Do cheaters recognize what they do is wrong?
/r/MensRights25/09/12 12:18 PM

Yep. A very good point. If you look at what a girl complains about in a relationship, it's always something to the effect of, "He isn't doing X for me." Where as the guy will say, "She's yelling at me," or something else similar to that.
/r/MensRights25/09/12 03:29 AM

I called her on it, she threw it all back and me 10x harder (not sure how), made it out to be my fault (not sure how), warped me into feeling guilty for no reason (not sure how), and she lied to everyone and said I was an asshole (not sure why).
/r/MensRights24/09/12 10:07 PM

Yep. Been there on the receiving end of cheating and she threw it all at me like I was the shitty one. Bias aside, she created every fucking problem we had.

Thanks for the inspiration :) Going out Saturday with her.

Age is irrelevant, you went out with a girl immediately after her breakup.

Thanks man. I would hesitate on dating up because they are baby crazy!

True, I have a job now, but I am the exact person I was at 19 just with more experience. But I didn't want to handle myself any differently, I just know what to expect out of situations better.

In terms of actual relationship material, don't people want someone who is mature, stable, and fun? Pretty sure it is universal. Funny thing, at 21 dating a 19 year old would've been no problem. Now that I'm 24 some are saying, "Tread carefully."
/r/seduction20/08/12 08:42 PM
1

Devil's advocate: What she is writing on her Twitter seems mature, proper grammar and everything. Is working this Summer while in college. Seemed kind and funny in her reply texts, so what else should I be aware of?

lol.
/r/seduction20/08/12 08:12 PM

I've had more fun conversations with my 12 year old neighbor than a lot of people my age, so I don't think age has any relevance on maturity levels. It's a guideline, but no fact.

Great idea. We're going to get dinner Saturday so we'll see how it goes. As long as she is not a smoker, has career aspirations, etc. we're good.

We met very briefly at a concert the other day, and I remember her friend asking me if I had a light. I don't know if it would be appropriate to ask her by text, "Hey, do you smoke by any chance?"

Why didn't it work out? And, is there any way I can ask her in advance if she smokes because I can't date a smoker.

At least use "Which" because that's proper English.

I didn't realize she was going to act like this. I mean there were hints, I guess...for example, sexually: She once asked, even though we were fucking a lot, if we were sexually compatible Wouldn't ever talk about sex outside of bed, thought it was inappropriate Was nowhere near as adventurous And after we moved in, she said now that we live together there is no reason to sex all the time since we see each other frequently.

That's what she did! She was upset with her life, and took it out on me. I would try to work it out, and she would guilt trip me / avoid it completely, leaving me out to dry. I couldn't tell her how I felt in fear of her reacting very negatively. She was super selfish in the end, and couldn't see her own hypocrisy, nor did she care. I've only had two long term relationships, but seem to attract similar types of girls over and over.

Holy shit, yeah, but that's in the past now (she's gone) so I cannot do anything about it. I looked up BPD, and it was to the fucking tee. Is this a legitimately diagnosed thing?

I appreciate the optimism. Sometimes I regret certain things, and have apologized, but really any actions I took were a direct result of her acting insane. It was so difficult to live with, I was on edge in fear of acting who I wanted to be versus how she wanted me to act [subservient, honestly, she wanted to emulate her parent's relationship] and feared bringing up my issues because she wouldn't care, emotionally wrecked me. Making it worse was her blaming me for everything, making me feel very…

Long story short, my last ex was fiercely independent, would say, "I do what I want to do." We moved in together, and she started acting differently, shut down sexually, was picking fights for silly reasons (once in a blue moon she'd acknowledge it), curse at me far more than usual, wouldn't realize her actions induced our arguments, and became oddly jealous. No matter how much I told her how something bugged me, or I wanted to calmly talk something out like adults, she wouldn't do it or would w…

And by sacrifice I mean that if you tell a woman not to act a certain way many times (inevitable) they will tell us to fuck off and run to another man who will deal with it. It's happened to me twice, and there is no learned behavior. They will become mom's and tell their daughters to never let a man control you.

Yeah I would have zero reason to go over and talk to them unless I would say, "New to the area, meeting people" and go row by row (they are low rise cubes, aka everyone can see everyone) and say hey.
/r/seduction27/07/12 03:11 PM

How can I make friends with them if they are about 100 feet away from me surrounded by a bunch of dudes who are in their 20s as well? It would be fairly obvious that my intentions are different, right? I suppose I could just go around saying I am new trying to meet new people but that's...I don't know.

No, it's tiring and puts a lot of pressure on me. Rather, it's better just to be the best you that you are, interact, and let life take itself. Just do the approaches.

I really don't know. By my best judgment it's going in with an initial "calm rush", so (for example), I would say, "Okay, I definitely saw you checking out my ass. At least you can ask for my name first." Bait, hook, catch a lot. While on a date yesterday I told a girl, after kissing her a few sometimes (I don't ask, I just do - be aggressive, better than being passive), she got splashed by a rain drop. She said, "Man, I just got wet from the rain," to which my reply was, "Rain splashed down the…

By the way, I don't mean to make myself look fantastic. I'm not, in fact I generally suck with women, but occassionally I'll get a, "Eh, fuck 'em" attitude and it works. I once went up to a group of three girls and was an intentional dick (smiling as I said it). One of them was eating me up the entire night as the other two were getting hit on by my buddys.
/r/seduction17/07/12 10:08 PM
1

Thanks kindly. I'm a good looking dude and personable, but SOMETHING isn't clicking as I think I should be getting more success compared to my buddies who are average and less outgoing. I really thought this girl was the one, she threw a lot of shit at me unnecessarily after the breakup, and took no responsibility for her actions. It was like a different animal moved in with me after college.

What's wrong with initiating divorce? Supposed to be a commitment, and knowing that most women do it for unfair reasons and will then gain custody of children is terrible for the children and father. Studies show children raised by only a mom have a lot of issues later on. Marriage shouldn't be, "Meh, who cares," it damages society and the benefit of being in relationships (making children). Good points on the abuse section, don't have any replies there. Seems that you're right.

I tell my mom and she says, "Maybe it's your problem you are attracting bad women," (as she cheated on my dad years ago, is rude to him despite how hard he works, etc). I tell my female friends and they just laugh. Women are the first to say they hate women. We don't say that about men. There are no communities on how to attract men, but an industry by men built up to win women over - how about we teach women how to be equal? They cite "Society expects us to be good looking," well, you expect us…

http://www.reddit.com/r/relationships/comments/w4rpz/lets_face_it_women_you_are_contributing_to_a_lot/ The women are ripping me apart, making fun of my names and ignoring everything I posted. What is more hilarious is that they admit it's not due to violence/exploitation/issues, it's mostly "because I can" - they just say "meh", outgrow their partner, and then take custody

Perhaps, it was reported between 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM (not that long, just a segment between that time). Been doing some diggin' and I can't find it. Maybe it was about Father's Day?

Similar to a death penalty - all or nothing. If one partner wants it, then it has to be kept but the partner who does not doesn't bear responsibility for the child. If neither want it, abortion (imo has to be under certain conditions, but that's debatable), and if both want it then great.

I suppose because I am not romantically involved with her.

Haha, she cursed at me through an IM program.

Verbal abuse is perfectly valid. When you get cursed at repeatedly and you were not raised in an environment that had that, it's punishing.
/r/MensRights22/05/12 03:29 PM

Yep, it's tough. You can be honest, which is always important, but that'll kill her. I suggest telling her that you want to focus on yourself for a bit, do things without obligation in life, and that while you care for her you ... man that's tough.

Yep. On another forum, I was told to "man up" by one of the more prevalent female posters. I said how that's a bad thing to say, referenced the study showing what we are discussing here, and she said, "Don't post BS emasculating stuff."

I don't know about that. "Beta" is a term used to describe men who don't fit the stereotypical masculine role. What is funny, and people overlook, is that there are women out there who enjoy taking on the leadership role in a relationship. Therefore, beta men aren't screwed, just most women aren't like this so it is harder for them to find that partner.

Racist is hating on a group for no reason. If you point out that most crimes are committed by blacks, then you are labeled racist, which is unfortunate. Regardless of the reason, it is what it is.
/r/MensRights22/05/12 03:58 AM

Yep, and there are many men out there who settle. I think those who get into relationships infrequently but hold in it are those, like us, who want it all. Unfortunately, my ex fit this criteria, but then changed and cheated. So did my first. So I am not sure where I stand at this point. It's tough because the same entitled, selfish behavior comes out because they have a vagina on a hot body. I've seen it among many other women with very handsome men. They will leave for literally no reason. I'm…

Edit: the discussion also references the idea that men may report their own violence less than women report their own, exactly because of the stupid idea that male violence is bad and female is OK. And they also talk about the fact that their study probably excluded those females who are badly abused, because their SO wouldn't let them participate and/or they'd be unreachable. Thanks for bringing that out to discussion.

Sorry, I would agree with you cursing is not verbal abuse, but much cursing is, I will edit the original post. The background was that I was talking to her about my ex and how she cheated. Then my friend brought up how she cheated and it was to get over the first guy. I asked why she would do that, she said, "That's part of the maturing process all women undergo." I thought that was ridiculous, and emotionally abusive, so I told her that. She said yeah, but men abuse women more. So I showed her …

But a man can be attractive and is expected to be mature, but we allow a pass on the attractive females? We need to hold both genders to a standard, the problem is that while women won't put up with a man's bullshit, there are men (many) who will put up with an attractive woman's bullshit, and if we don't stand up to them they will get bored and leave. If we do stand up, they will just find another person dealing with their shit. Biology then fucks men because we want attractive mates.

Can we understand why this is? I seriously don't know why. With my ex, when the amount of sex dropped when we moved in, I calmly asked what we could do to bring it back up. After her unwillingness to compromise, I suggested it may be hormones from stress or continual use of the pill, maybe the relationship could use tweaking etc. Her response, after a month of me asking? "I don't have to do what I don't want to do, there is nothing wrong with me, you're a monkey." Verbatim.
/r/MensRights21/05/12 11:23 PM
16

Yeah, she was excusing her behavior in the past and excusing my ex's by saying it was, "a way to get over him", "this is how girls get over it, "man up and stop worrying", etc. I am almost positive women don't understand how emotional abuse affects men.
/r/MensRights21/05/12 11:17 PM

Thanks Jeremy. And she claimed abuse in front of others, which puts me at risk, and then she could've told someone (even just ONCE) and I would've been done. She never saw my POV, I understood her POV and later compromised on vacation, but for awhile it caused so many issues. When she cries, talk about emotionally guilting. Next girl I date, no matter if she cries or not, I'm telling it like it is.

Thank you. It's not the most kind thing to do, but there's literally no harm and she treated me like I was doing Hitler's work. Then later she threw that at me as a reason to question my morals (don't get me started on her). Just to clarify he was not with us, I lied saying he was.

You are probably right. My issue is that so much of the pressure to find a lady is on the men, so women sit back on that typically. Let's see how it is when they approach guys constantly. Get rejected multiple times, flake on a date, ignore a call, lose interest because she's not "sexual" enough, etc. That is what we experience. If we aren't confident enough (which is so damn hard as men, biologically we get nervous if we find you attractive) then we're screwed.

I don't think it's the same for men and women, but it should be. The forwardness should be the same, as well. There will be variations, but when one gender can get away with being a dick (typically males) and high-fived about it or a woman can be too emotional and she's justified then it's wrong. Let's level the playing field.

I'm just saying that those who are the second way define themselves as "forward" rather than bitchy. So we associate forward women with that attitude.

Just encourage women to approach men and feel how rejection feels. That'll make them second guess the notion of rejecting a man for a petty reason.

Thanks, you spoke better than I could. As for the female version of "nice guys" it's only because people find her unattractive. That's literally the reason. Could you speak on what you meant for the "check your privilege" comment?

From experience, women who say their relative is pretty typically aren't pretty. Just saying. It's possible. I know some single girls who are gorgeous. In fact, there are more gorgeous single girls than average ones. But that's also because the gorgeous ones are far more selective.

Yes I do. Mud on a tennis court? Bullshit. Reschedule after the season? Bullshit, plus she said the day before she doesn't work every night. Said she'll send me pictures from her trip and didn't? Bad sign. Said she'll check her schedule but I had to get in touch with her 9 PM the night before? Avoiding. "c-spine neck injury" from tennis? Uhm.

A forward person means speaking their mind. Here, for example: "I am not interested in going out on a date, but I think you're cool. Let's be friends!" vs "Ha, yeah, not gunna happen. <walks away>" From experience, "forward women" always act the second way.

Just a socially accepted level of emotions. One where people wouldn't look at them and say, "Uh, why are they crying?" Eg: My ex came out of the bathroom. I scared her. She started to cry. I started to laugh because it was funny I scared her so bad she was crying. Then she punched me in the arm.

My family has an autistic relative. On our file at the amusement park is his name. We have access to a handicapped pass that my family is entitled to when we go. All we have to do is say we brought him and it's ours. Now, I told my ex we could go to Disney together and use this pass if I lied to Guest Relations. She thought it was wrong, but agreed to use it for the trip since I was paying for the trip wholly. Midway on vacation she stopped wanting to use it out of the blue. She coldly refused, …

If you give me a picture of you guys via PM I'll tell you if I know why you aren't getting dates. I will judge purely off of visuals, and I'm not even saying attractiveness. Some girls give off a HORRIBLY bitchy vibe without meaning it. Men today are super intimidated to approach a female because it puts us out there all the time. With that, terrible dating skills by people today, easier access to masterbatory material, high divorce rates, etc. then I can see why the birth rate is falling fast. …

You're not getting what I mean by a forward girl. Girls who describe themselves as "forward" are usually bitchy and rude. A forward person is properly described as someone who is up front and honest but kind.

Overly emotional, as in way too sensitive. A decent human should empathize to someone else's situation. My fucking ex, when I told her not to walk out the door on me because it made me insecure (this was because I said "What the fuck is your problem?" after she was acting like a maniac for a week by being way too sensitive), said, after I told her I partially wanted her to stay because my mom was getting sick at the time and I was scared, that "I was using her health as an excuse."

You are on Reddit, which probably makes you in the minority percentage of women, a microscopic sample of women who are abnormal. Safe to say you also, probably, don't hang out with normal women, either. Now, I am a good looking guy, a bit short, but handsome. A great education, a good job, excellent family, stable friends. No, a woman who aspires to stay at home while the man works to support both people is horrible. She, after the first few years, should be working to also make an income, giving more wealth to the family, to give a better upbringing (in general) for the children, rather than be a mooch. I REFUSE to date a woman who doesn't have a career aspiration, a valid one, too (sorry, a stylist isn't one). Why not a stylist? Reflects, generally, horrible decision making on their part.

A man who is forward is typically just an honest person. A woman who considers herself forward always has the attitude, "I'm just an honest bitch." Here's the problem with dates - men approach women constantly, rarely are men friends with women unless they want something out of it (their friend, them, etc.), or they are lifelong friends, or they are in a relationship already. No one should be overly emotional, that's bad. But, if we're talking about men who have overwhelming emotions like a human does every so often, then if they judge them for that it's horrible. Still, the fault is on them because being a bitch and not being receptive of your partner's emotions is their problem.

It was a playoff softball game, and we had enough guys to cover so I was okay if I missed, but missing and then flaking is illegitimate. True about her period, but reschedule until after the season? Even dating now, women expect the men to win them over. I really don't understand that mindset. It's all about them, they feel they are the prize, they expect us to approach, say the right things, they can get away with anything, can induce illogical problems in relationships and expect us to deal with it, put friends as the priority, ignore our needs, etc.

Nor do I at this point, split 4 months ago. She cheated on me with a guy who cheated on her 3x five years ago. When we weren't having sex anymore, and I would calmly ask why and try to figure out solutions, I broke down and cried at one point because I didn't feel loved anymore - and I told her exactly how I felt calmly. She comforted me, but I knew she didn't respect how I felt because nothing changed.
