I'd probably end up with a complaint for pointing out almost every job is funded by a member of the public at some point, so if they work they are very likely also funded by the public (warehouse worker has no work if no member of the public buys their product for example). Seriously, 99 quid and it's yours. That part isn't true at all. We have had multiple people taken away from our store by police and booked in for amounts below £100. Just today we had a guy conceal a bluetooth speaker (around £40) and the police came to assist us. Granted in this case due to his lack of criminal record, we opted to simply have the police warn him and ban him from the store. They did give us the option to pursue it and have him arrested should we wish to do so.
