1	Am I a doomed woman? RIP Elizabeth Wurtzel, the author of the Elle article. I grew up with her, sorta (am a little older). Eloquent writer. Many of my friends (& I) relate to parts of her story. It doesn’t have to end this way. Through therapy, spiritual work (if that’s your thing), and doing the next good thing day by day, the “dross” can be transformed. 1	Betty Friedans “The Feminine Mystique” Yes, I think of the atomization of culture plays a big role... I grew up in the 60s/70s w/a SAHM in a loving Jewish community (we were the only Gentiles around!) we free-range played in the neighborhood, the moms were close IRL, and everyone looked out for each other. 4	Posture devices I’m sorry so brief but... 1) YES I have the Velcro strap thingy and love it — I like to use it when working on my computer, and on walks to retrain my body/brain. Anywhere from 20 min to an hour a day. I’m not too disciplined, though! Any use of it at all I’ve found really beneficial. 2) Pilates, gentle upper body weight work, lunges, and yoga all work really well for me. I have some cervical spine issues and have to be careful.
