Yuck, I read his tldr. Lost interest as soon as he had to make it political and partisan. His rhetoric needs to come off as more neutral to be more convincing. This is tactless. This document isn't the type of thing that will persuade anyone. It will only reinforce people's own biases ironically.

I've never done it formally, but I've been persistent a couple times casually and constantly cited sources and explained my reasoning and pointed why their reasoning was off and literally had a few times they just said "haha, I was just trolling you stupid." I just let them have the last word.

You're the one originally making a claim of it being social pressure without a shred of evidence. So far my anecdote is more damning than your blind conjecture which isn't saying a whole lot like you just said. Btw I don't know where you got the idea of me talking about genetics. When I said a lack there of I meant there may not be enough pressure to push women into stem fields. Do i know that for sure? Hell no, just speculating. You're making some bold assumptions.

I think what isn't fair is the lack of paid paternity leave and it needs to be there for both genders to avoid any bias or preference for employers to hire men if the men are entitled to it as well. Plus for a woman to take time off from work to take care of the baby by her self sounds like a lonely and depressing gig anyways. Both parents should be there.

societal pressure. or a lack there of. I don't see any pressure to push women away from stem at my uni or much anywhere else. They're very welcomed and we have a female professor that leads all the undergrad classes for lower division and dictates who gets into upper division courses.

An odd factor that sways women from STEM fields is calculus of all things. https://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2016-07-21/calculus-steers-women-away-from-stem I do remember the huge dropoff of female students as I went to higher levels of math. I guess they're saying it's a lack of confidence. I wasn't very confident when I went into calculus but I think the term I took calc 1 I spent more time on that class than my other 2 combined.
