Yes, but individuals and society as a whole are two incredibly different sets of things. Society is more than the sum of its parts, and while I do agree that capitalism has caused some ugly stuff, I also think that it helps to prevent some uglier stuff. And yes, individuals do matter. Individually, that is. On a cosmic scale, none of us matter.

That raises another significant question: is personal bias afoot? Were it not for the capitalistic society created by the colonists who lived here in the US of A, the Revolutionary War would have never happened. We would still be living under the direct control of the British autocracy/monarchy, which likely would still be in near-complete power, second only to the wishes of Parliament.

Call me right-wing or whatever you like, but I don’t particularly understand why people support the elimination of capitalism. There’s a reason that so many other countries copied our model and stopped being so authoritarian. And I don’t mean to be rude, I really don’t, but the Soviet Union collapsed for a reason.
