That's actually a very gnarly statistic. IMO, this sort of thing is going to have inertia behind it that does not bode well for the future in many regards. Very anecdotal here, but I believe we're already seeing it on the dating scene where women are experiencing difficulty finding someone -- because most men are just fucking miserable, earn less than them, and are checking out of the system.

The core of Orwell isn't just extreme censorship, but the development of how one thinks to essentially self-promote it. This is even more obvious if you read Orwell's essays (which are even better than his books).
