Ah, sarcasm. What a soothing salve for the wounded ego. I hope you grow up one day.

I'm sorry that you didn't give an honest answer. Or, even more sorry for you, if you genuinely believe that answer is honest. *This point isn't a matter of opinion. It is a matter of fact. The cameraman was in no way neutral. And he was certainly not merely an observer.

Okay, that made me laugh. One cannot be the catalyst of a conflict, a participant thereof, and ALSO a neutral observer. If that's the best you have to offer, I think that we should just end our conversation here.

I'm quite familiar with the tactic of hiding in semantics. You state that I am making an incredible leap. If I am, then what was your point of posting this except to create the distinction between the cameraman and the subjects and actions described by your title? If I am incorrect in my discernment then, by all means, correct me. What is the cameraman, to you?
/r/MensRights15/09/11 05:41 PM

Look at the other discussions tab. Plus your title labels everyone else as wrong while the cameraman is curiously left free of any reproach. And a folkway is a sociological term. It is essentially a cultural norm that is not codified as law.
/r/MensRights15/09/11 05:20 PM

Do you honestly think that the cameraman wasn't violating any folkways? *And for clarity, I never accused the cameraman as behaving improperly. I just stated my incredulity at his being held up as a paragon of virtue or righteousness.

I cannot help but feel that you are losing the battle when you hold this cameraman's actions up as noble or proper.

If there is justice in this world then she will confess and rightly be arrested for, charged with, and convicted of a number of felonies.

My comment, and I doubt it will go live. A reasonable adult August 30, 2010 12:38 am Please Note: Your comment is awaiting moderation. I concur, and genuinely hope that you are successful in your attempts to remove every male from your presence. I pity these boys for any time they are forced to share space with someone who is quite literally bursting with seething contempt for them merely because they had the audacity to be born male. Any effort on your part to limit your proximity is sure to be…

The bogeyman is real, and here it is: Nuanced person: on average, people A are better than people B at activity XYZ. Zealot: Any B caught doing XYZ must die. Setting aside, for the moment, your slick slope; I cannot help but wonder if you are advocating the silencing of the nuanced person for fear that his nuance will be lost on some parties.

This may be tangential to your original point, however it is pertinent nonetheless. When one considers the near unfettered access to immediate gratification that our society and technology afford, anyone who consumes these immediate gratification services is completing a behavioral modification cycle. That is, each consumer is training himself or herself to expect gratification at the cost of less effort expended. Depending on how you view society, this may or may not appear to be a problem to y…

The sentence, for a convicted man was appropriate since he was declared guilty. Yay, you finally got it! Congratulations!
/r/MensRights03/03/10 06:11 PM

Gosh, how helpful of you to point out to me what I mean when I post statements. I sincerely thought that I was making a rather obvious point that a court is duty bound to sentence a convicted man to the appropriate sentence when he is found guilty -- beyond a reasonable doubt -- of a crime. What good is a court of law that renders itself toothless to sentence convicted men for fear of their innocence, when that same court has just found them guilty of the crime? Hindsight is 20/20. Yes, you are …

cashed, i am not following, are you suggesting people should not feel passionate about wrongful convictions? have you ever been incarcerated in texas, as a rapist, and as a non-rapist? do you have anything to contribute to this conversation beyond your armchair statsnazi'ing? what makes you think you know anything about texas beyond your little bubble, my advice is become a part of the circle jerk as it is way fore mun. I think you ought to try some reading comprehension. Certainly we can agree that it is unjust for an innocent man to be convicted Is one contention. but I cannot understand why you would begrudge a court that finds a man guilty of rape beyond a reasonable doubt of sentencing him to a lengthy prison term. Is a separate contention. If a court of law finds a man guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, it therefore, necessarily, is obligated to sentence that man to the appropriate punishment for the crime…

Law enforcement has pretty much the green light to murder people at their leisure there and 99.9% of the time, they get away with it. It seems that you have a tenuous grasp of statistics, reality, or both. That wasn't my point. Texas is a state that doesn't like to be proven wrong and likes to drag their feet on releasing and clearing people's records whom are wrongfully convicted. A state that does not like to be proven wrong? An entire state? I think you might want to limit the scope of that s…

If the guy were still alive, he would still be in prison. Texas is pretty brutal once they get their grubby hands on you. What do you think is an appropriate amount of time for a convicted serial rapist be incarcerated? Certainly we can agree that it is unjust for an innocent man to be convicted; but I cannot understand why you would begrudge a court that finds a man guilty of rape beyond a reasonable doubt of sentencing him to a lengthy prison term. In 1985, Timothy Cole was a student in Lubboc…

Right, you want a polarizing figure who is maligned by the partisan media and everyone who disagrees with him as a figurehead for your movement, brilliant! Write a letter and mail it to a local paper, that'll get you much farther.
/r/MensRights19/02/10 03:42 AM

Here's an idea. You do something about it. Why not write a civil and concise explanation about the ills of the status quo and mail it to every local and regional paper once a week? Why not contact local and regional reporters regarding human interest stories of sympathetic father figures being shafted by the system? I am flabbergasted, but I should not expect otherwise; biologically speaking, one would need to visit the men's rights subreddit to find so much impotent rage.

I'm sorry, I didn't sign up for the job of selecting the face of a movement. I merely asked some valid and necessary questions and stated a few reasoned points. It is apparent that a devil's advocate is as needed as he is unwanted in these parts.

If we can use him, we should. Even if you pinch your nose and use gloves to handle him, you're still stuck with a shitty candidate for the face of the movement you seem so driven to have succeed. You're advocating handcuffing yourself to some backwoods kid who can fall from media favor just as quickly as he rose.

Are you joking? Practically anyone. Hell, I can name 2 men that I know personally who would be much more sympathetic figures and could actually rationally and honestly explain how the situation each faces, no matter how unique to himself, is an archetype for serious flaws in an archaic system. You are quite literally asserting that a child who became famous for impregnating the child of a politician is prepared to or even capable of doing that? Good grief.

Palin is a polarizing figure which could make more people sympathetic to our fight. Then you are truly grasping at straws.

I hope his plight brings about a national discussion for how messed up the system is. He is a media darling, and only because he has made himself a platform for brutish anti-Palin rhetoric. He is a vapid and empty vessel that only receives air time because he can be harnessed to further denigrate Sarah Palin. And you think that he is in a good position to do anything for your cause?

I think it is at the very least interesting how the researcher finds it necessary to explain herself when quoted in the latter half of the article. Also, consider that there are an incredible number of indoctrinated people in this world who believe that there are no biological differences between the sexes. Consider this good ammunition for the next time a feminist ideologue waxes about social constructs as the root cause of differences between the sexes. While the researchers expected the women…

It's not the manner in which he views marriage, it's the completely dogmatic manner in which he expresses those views.

Oh God. I give you the evidence you're looking for that clearly shows marriage is a complete failure and you talk about cars???? You made a ridiculous argument and I revealed it as such. You substitute brash emotion for reason far too liberally. Calm down and actually think about the words that you are typing. But I will spell it out. You argued against the utility of marriage entirely based upon a failure rate of 50 percent over the lifetime of those people entering into it. If the only utility…

Setting aside your hyperbole for the moment, let me address the basis of your argument. You define marriage as a failure because it does not last for the lifetime of half of the participants. Over 50% of all marriages end in divorce. That's an "F". But that doesn't even begin to tell the story. 70% of all divorces are initiated by women. YOU MIGHT WONDER WHY???? If men initiated divorce at the same rate as women the divorce rate would be north of 70%. Given that line of reasoning, would you also…

Your inference, that anyone who disagrees with you must be ignorant, is absurd on it's face. Stop talking down to me as if you were some sort of modern day oracle. If marriage were such a horrendous institution then you would have no shortage of evidence in support of your breathless screeds. As it stands, you have posted none of that evidence. Where is it? And don't tell me to read a book, if the (pseudo-)facts that you espouse are so self-evident then they should be easily referenced by a casu…

Any man who marries a dependent woman is either ignorant or stupid. Really? Wow. You are zealous beyond reason. Please educate yourself and stop supporting such drivel. I find this statement absolutely hilarious. I supported the notion that one shouldn't consider half the population of the earth his enemy out of prejudice. That's drivel? You cannot expect to be happy with the mindset you espouse. That's worth repeating.

I downvoted you, but I want to also explain why. You cannot expect to be happy with the mindset you espouse. The opposite sex is not the enemy. Anyone who takes up that banner is destined to a sad, hollow existence, man or woman.

She is black, the defendants *(who have since taken a plea bargain) are all white. One can argue about whether or not race should play a part in the narrative about this incident during and after the trial, however it is undeniable that race did play a significant part.

I like men. Most of my friends are men. I live with two men. But even if 1 in 100 men makes sexual suggestions to strangers, that's a lot of people encountered within a given period of time who will do so. The chances are pretty good that if a strange man approaches in a situation where they probably have no legitimate reason to need to speak to me, they're going to make a sexual comment or an unwanted romantic approach. "Rape" is an inflammatory word (and again, I think that's part of why the a…

Being approached by a strange man frequently leads to unwanted flirtation and commentary on one's looks. That's not a comfortable situation to be in. First off, who are you speaking for? Yourself or the entire female sex? Either you have undertaken exhaustive research or you are overstepping some bounds of credulity or plausibility. If this is a personal narrative then you should treat it as such, invoking half the population in an attempt to add weight to your opinions is sophomoric. I don't th…

Next time quote the fucking post and you'll not need me to point out your oversights. There was no editing for substance, you shot off half-cocked out of a gleeful desire to disprove imagined talking points and therefore establish how smart and snarky you truly are. http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2009/09/11/2065287.aspx From NBC's Mike Viqueira The White House tonight is providing the below clarification on what the president's health-care proposals would mean when it comes to the issue of illegal immigrants. The question, as we all know, arises from the Wilson "You lie" outburst, and the core claim that notwithstanding specific bill language barring illegal immigrants from participating in the "exchange," as a practical matter, there is no way of v…

Finally, on your third response you actually get near the crux of the matter. First, solidarity is primarily about union or fellowship, it is not about ignoring poorly made points or overlooking ignorance about a different health care system. Right. Dismissive tone twice in a row, and yet each time your posts are quite short on rhetorical substance. Oh right, my apologies for pointing out a significant inconsistency in your marginally topical anecdote. Consider me put in my place. Pardon the interruption, I won't further prevent you from presenting your face to the rest of your circle jerking ilk so that they may gift you with hot loads of upvotes. edit: and fine dodge of the actual substance of my post. The man you point to as elegance in chief either lied at the podium or lied just days earlier.. because a few days before this big speech he was saying that 46 million Americans are without health insurance and need his plan. 46M - 30M = 16M undocumented aliens. However, I agree with the contention that this is rather a bit of common sense, however I think you chaps are missing out on the sense portion of it. Gay men, by an overwhelming majority, are infected with HIV through the introduction of infected ejaculate during anal sex with an HIV positive partner. The anus has a membrane with the sole purpose to grab whatever is in there and pull it in to check it out. This makes it absolutely useless at preventing infections, if they are introduced here fro…
