and this is another reason why a lot of us are unaware/unresponsive to indirect signals.

No it just means you need to have a backbone. Don't be a pushover. Set boundaries for how you want to be treated and be willing to walk away, not bend over backwards to please her. That's all. Ex: If you think you are being manipulated, ignore her and go back to whatever you were doing. If she cheats on you, you get rid of her immediately and never look back. Know your worth.

You're overthinking it way too much. You don't need to adhere to rigid rules, which are manipulative anyway, just be a high value person and don't make any person except yourself your #1 priority.

> The next Monday I went there after gym again, this time without a proper reason except to walk around and see if I met her. That's creepy. Don't do that. You're already overpursuing, which takes you out of your frame. > Was she playing hard to get? How would she even know you're into her? You've barely met her a few times, let alone made any attempt at flirting or connecting with her.

So now you know you didn't die, it's cool. You just move on. You do the right thing by respecting boundaries and leaving it at that. Gets easier with practice.

Nothing. Invite her somewhere and see if she says yes. It's tempting but quit trying to overanalyze women, they're generally inconsistent

It doesn't matter what you reply since she's clearly not available or not interested.

Lol but "not ugly" is still not the same as "very attractive" but if your personalities are just not compatible for a relationship then the physical attraction still means little

You don't convince anyone because that's not how attraction works. You need to be your own man, man, and not be desperate. If, anything, you need to be LESS of a friend to her and give her more space, more time away from you. It's kind of a fucked up thing to do if she is a genuine good friend, but it's a necessary step to realize any feelings that are there, if any. But if she truly is a good friend, what's so bad about maintaining that? True friendships are hard to find. Plus, being seen with …

You can get all of that from having normal friendships if you're a well adjusted human.

so basically if you're not a good conversationalist you're fucked no matter what

Agree, what's left to anticipate after you've given everything away?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
