All liberal arts function on theory, which people come up with, study, think about, write papers on, do studies on, ask people for personal opinions, do ethnographies etc etc and come up with new theory based on that. There is NO branch of academia, save for feminism, whose major thinkers are women, for example. The first chemists, mathematicians, sociologists, historians were men; all these academic schools were founded when women were not allowed to study. Ideally no persons work would be valued more than another persons- everyone could do what they were intelligent enough to do. Ideally no one should be working 100h a week. Access to education needed to be a neurosurgeon should be available so that enough people could be neurosurgeons and there could be enough surgeons working jobs. A critical analysis would have involved actually considering why there was a difference.
