Yeah, using sham treatments WOULD bring down the price of healthcare, but that just doesn't seem like the right thing to do. Real meds are more effective even though they cost more.

The first and second articles you linked are pretty clearly complaining about fake male "feminists." The first, to explain the headline, says explicitly Until men hold each other to a higher standard and make tangible progress on breaking down the systems of power that protect and empower abusers, the solution is clear: We must ban those who call themselves male feminists. So, it's about banning a claim to that label, not banning the men. The second article you linked gives many examples of men …

Because when people on the internet find out that other people on the internet are women, they often spontaneously turn into raging assholes and start yelling things like "tits or gtfo."

Uh, but they actually had jokes about raping people. Those screenshots aren't at all a good example of how innocent male behavior is being punished and characterized as "evil and rapey." They're literal rape jokes.

Wtf. The prof was sleeping with an undergrad/employee? That's fucked up. As a grad student, the situations faced by everyone the advisor fucked over by being unethical and breaking university rules are actually not that uncommon. The answer is to fix the graduate educational system (which is so, so broken), not to ignore abuses of power by the bosses. Jeez.

Yeah, he's not really describing MRAs at all. They're also overwhelmingly negative, not positive; it isn't "improve this for men" as often as it is "fuck women's shit up because it just not fair."

Wooooow. When women marry men for money and divorce them for money, it's super shitty, right? It makes them horrible people? How does your mind make the jump to "but it'll be clever and admirable when I do it!"

Pigs in captivity behave differently than pigs in the wild. Pigs in the wild are actually pretty decent. They DON'T shit where they eat, and they're actually pretty clean. The parasites are a different kind of issue :) As it turns out, most species have parasites that are well-adapted to them (they live off of them but don't kill them) and not very "dangerous." However, we differ enough from the pigs that the pork worms and other parasites that don't entirely lack the ability to infect us DO lac…

...who's talking about good and bad? This is statistics. A small minority of cases fit your template. But I guess if you get off on congratulating yourself each morning for not being one of them, then you're probably happy believing that they're the norm. "Strategies" don't make you bitter, seeing the bad in everything is what makes you bitter. Blowing the small number of bad cases out of proportion is what indicates bitterness. There are happy couples out there, just because you weren't ever pa…

We're pretty distant from pigs, actually. The similarities in brain and traits are not because of a close genetic relation. A good example of how to picture this is the differences between mammals and marsupials; there are many species in one class that have a very similar "copy" in the other (looks the same and fills the same niche), but they are actually more distant evolutionarily than, say, an elephant and an aardvark (which are both in the clade afrotheria, a beautiful example of rapid dive…

Oof. This sounded like a bitter newbie post, but it's from a staple of the sub. Ditto to what lycanthr0py said about not all women doing that, even if you think they all think the same. Jeez. You live in a tiny little bubble. There's great love here for the "half of marriages end in divorce" claim, but that also means that half don't. Fully half of marriages, then, stay together. And when you realize that the people who get married and divorced several times contribute greater weight to the half…

An entire graduate theater class? And no one? Really? In six months I had gone from an eligible bachelor to someone who wasn't even worthy of being introduced to her classmates even though they were, every single one, without personal accomplishment except for the circumstances of their birth (white, female, upper middle-class, attractive). When you're talking about people you don't know (and that's central to this story, that you haven't met any of them), this comes off sounding a little like s…

Vasectomy doesn't actually affect sperm production, it just changes the method needed for, er, extraction. Good local anesthesia plus a needle is the solution, if there's a problem reversing the vasectomy (which is usually doable). Sounds horrible, but that's because we get antsy about balls. Anyway, it's far better than birthing the thing.

When I said hissy fit, I wasn't talking about you, I meant the one by the mod :-/ "This sub is a place to not be burdened with female opinion" is quite different than "challenging his word choice rather than looking at the content." Considering she's talking about what kind of men she's attracted to, gender does have some relevance here. It doesn't need to be censored. It wasn't being trotted out as authority or anything, it was being given as context.

Oh, please. Maybe you never read the article? Point out even one line that can be considered an incitement to violence. Even a veiled one. Hint: there aren't any. It's a criticizing piece, but that's, like, the POINT of journalism. Read any newspaper or magazine. The good ones are full of glowing reviews, they're critical. That does not constitute "incitement to violence," which, incidentally, has a pretty strict definition and application. You want libel laws, which might actually be applicable…

TIL that criticizing a specific overstatement is the same as staking out a position against "hyperbole of any kind." You know they call bean bag guns and batons less than lethal force, right? They can still kill. Turns out, like with the guns, it's really the likelihood of managing to kill someone that determines if we call it lethal. Very, very few people accused of rape die as a result. Oh, my god. You're so invested in this. Everyone else disagrees with you. Read the other comments around this. Calling this lethal is like when rad fems label as "rape" a bunch of stuff you disagree with, like pressuring people into sex. Just call it dangerous, malicious, or something else that's, you know, accurate. Or prepare for no one to take you seriously, just like no one takes rad fems seriously.

I'm saying there can be lethal consequences to everything. If you consider a few scattered cases of murder to justify calling it lethal, then you'd have to call a lot of things lethal. People don't kill more over rape accusations than other things. You could say that accusing someone of cheating can be lethal. Also, it isn't NOW a capital offense, so that's irrelevant. Sodomy and adultery carried punishments of stoning. But we don't call it "lethal force" to call someone gay or to accuse someone…

This interpretation kind goes against the "even unattractive women can have all the sex they want" mentality on this sub. Her SMV doesn't have to be all that high to have guy friends (or orbiters, as you insist). Aren't women the gatekeepers of sex? Why would the boyfriends only want sex if their girlfriends have orbiters?

People commit suicide for lots of reasons. We don't call dumping someone lethal force, or firing someone lethal force. It's a stretch, and calling it not lethal doesn't mean not taking it seriously.

Only works if she filed a report with the police. The US doesn't have libel laws. Which, before you complain, is really, really good. In the UK, they get used to harass people and cause far more trouble than the fix.

lethal has a specific meaning, which doesn't include ruining a person's life. Unless you're talking about a possibility of facing the death penalty, it's not lethal. Being dramatic is good, but not at the expense of being accurate, and this was inaccurate.

Ray Rice wasn't fired in the court of public opinion. He's a national figure and a representative of his team, and he brought a TON of bad press for them. He wasn't fired for domestic violence, he was fired because the higher ups got caught lying about the severity of the incident, and they wanted to get rid of some of the heat. Marriage is a social institution, not a religious one. You apply to the gov't for a marriage license, you file for divorce in court, and you get tax breaks for being married. If you want it to be a religious institution, that's another argument, but as it stands, disallowing gays from marrying IS discrimination, so you can't be FOR gay marriage being illegal and AGAINST discrimination. Look things up for yourself, I'm not doing it. They've been convicted of libel numerous times. Wikipedia has a few of the suits, but mainly only from the rich and famous; the Daily Mail is also known for burying people in legal costs so they can't keep pursuing it, to "win" even when they're in the wrong (a thing that major corporations commonly do to individuals; Monsanto is another good example). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Mail#Libel_lawsuits

This post is about using Daily Mail links here, in this subreddit, for each other. That won't get women to swallow red pill without realizing it; if they're here, they know. This subreddit also isn't being overrun by the avalanche of feminist bullshit from major media outlets. It's self-generated content. You don't want to post feminist bullshit, don't. Just don't post bullshit of other varieties, either. Get a reputable source. Daily Mail is worthless, EVEN when they agree with TRP.
