To be fair, looking at that picture, maybe the judge wanted to spare those young men the reminders of their terror every time a parole hearing notice would have been sent to them. Haven't those young men suffered enough?

Wesley Ellis, 37, had pleaded guilty to sexual penetration of a 16-year-old child under his care after having sex with the teenage girl on 12 occasions in 2015. OP's title is a bit misleading IMO. This is a teacher abusing his position with his 16 year old student. If it had been two people who had met in different circumstances it might be a different story

Many corporations for the past few years have been instituting policies for email servers and corporate laptops that address this. 1) no email to your own personal PC/home 2) all email is deleted from the corporate server after 1 year, except for email you classify as needed to save for regulatory reasons 3) no email on your corporate pc/laptop By following the standard they eliminate evidence in a timely manner, and because it is a policy in place they cannot be accused of destroying evidence i…

What /u/Bonesteel50 said. Assault is placing fear of battery into another person. Battery is actually making the physical contact. Threatening with a fist is assault, hitting with a fist is battery. She both threatened and made contact.

She has assaulted him. He has the right to self defense. Elbow to the face and scoot, then call the cops and sign a complaint for assault. It's all on video.

Anything that does no harm to others should not even be mentioned in the law, let alone be illegal. So far as feminism goes, equal rights feminism, or "superior rights for us - all men are rapists and child molesters feminism"?

While technically this is gender neutral, it is really targeted at protecting women from evil evil dastardly cis-males

As MR Supporters we have a responsibility to ensure that laws are equitable and fair, and enforced in an impartial manner, so woemn and men should be treated the same under the same circumstances. But as Human Beings we also have a responsibility to make sure the laws are rational and are work with Human Nature not against it, and that they take into account the changes in currnet society from when older laws were passed. Laws created in the era when women were considered little more than proper…

So 17 years, 364 days, 23 hours and 59 minutes old and they should be imprisoned, but 1 minute later they can screw like bunnies? No. While the law varies from place to place, in too many cases it is far out of proportion to the incident.

Stop buying into the feminist SJW definition. Was it wrong, yes, and consequences should be forthcoming. But without force or the threat of force it should not be called rape. Edit to add link
/r/MensRights04/06/16 03:36 PM
-5

No, I disagree. Rape is use of force or threat of violence. The term has been dumbed down by feminists to mean anything they want, down to regrets over a bad date. Why should we go along with that nonsense? The term needs to be removed from any situation where violence or threats of violence were not involved, and it needs to be removed from the law except for crimes where violence or threats of violence are involved. What it is, is abuse of a position of trust, and illegal sexual activity with …

There is also the issue of inheritance. Would a child conceived this way be able to inherit the mans estate? That could cause a whole slew of adverse incentives in the case of a wealthy man (or woman if egg/ovary harvesting is allowed in parallel)

I will say no for only one reason. How much does the average NFL player make over the average NFL career? She should be forced to pay back all his potential earnings that were lost due to this false allegation.

IANAL, but from what I understand sentences like that are often served concurrently, not consecutively. So she could end up serving only the longest term of them all. Can any lawyers chime in on that?

Anyone know facebooks policies on reporting inciting gender-based sexual violence? Turnabout is fair-play
/r/MensRights05/04/16 11:33 AM

No, there is a real bias here. So long as it was the female beating on the male it was OK. When he started to defend himself that was when people objected. In a sense it was a race issue, but only in the parallels between how one oppressed class person dares to get uppity and defend against a privileged class aggressor. 50 plus years ago in the U.S. it was oppressed POC against privileged whites, today it is oppressed males against privileged women.

In spirit is the right term. Yes, the author has other outlets to market his books, amazon being one, plus there are plenty of publishers very willing to publish politically incorrect subject matter. The way the publisher handled it, if the author is accurate in his description, was poor, and very much in line with what I have seen in other areas of life infected by this brain numbing penchant to disappear everything disagreeable.

I understand the whole idea of protecting a child and supporting it with a non-fathers wealth instead of the taxpayers.. But that should trigger a claim against the woman, and the true father if he can be identified. Think of it like a student loan. As soon as the child is independent, the mother has to pay him back, with interest, garnisheed from salary if needed, and it would be a debt that cannot be discharged. She can identify the true father or not to share the burden, but we do know who th…

dress codes perse are probably not discrimination. But when wearing certain types of clothing are forbidden to only one sex, or mandated for one and not the other, like suits and ties, and personal grooming standards like hair length, nail colors or length, etc are specified as being appropriate for one and not the other, then yes it is discrimination. You can have dress codes that are gender neutral.

This is why I will never ever be alone with others children, even those of family members. Nieces, nephews, cousins. I have told my family this. I can help out as with birthday parties and such, but only if someone else is around. Even if the parents are rational, it just takes one other person to hurl ac…

Dunno why the down-votes. This is basically correct. The whole power imbalance argument is based on subjective criteria that can be changed and twisted to fit whatever the claimant wants at the moment. The definition of rape needs to be returned to "use of force", and other terms used to define other unacceptable situations that arise.

He is right, why the down votes? Men get paid less per scene, but they have longer careers; Most men do not perform well under lights and cameras. Women age out quickly for the most part. And "gay for pay" is a big thing in male porn. Few do it, but it is a thing

I have no problem with running first, but the way I have seen similar law enforced you are required to jump out second story windows before defending yourself. Basically they second guess after the fact, and anything short of a star trek transport is considered.

This is in Denmark. If this was the U.S. I would definitely agree with you. The question is in Denmark, can the falsely accused perfectly wipe the official record clean? And then what are the social consequences? They may be different there. But this bill seems to amend the law to increase the minimum penalty. Section 4.1.1 in the English version says maximum is up to 6 years. But I think we would need someone from Denmark, preferably an attorney, to discuss this to understand it. Working from G…

So if a woman obtains a mans sperm through fraudulent means, or uses it after oral/manual sex, the male is still obligated? What if the male is kidnapped and forced to ejaculate, (being raped) and the woman uses that to become pregnant? Is the male is still obligated to care for the child? If a woman can abort a pregnancy due to rape, does a male have the same option? If a woman is married and becomes pregnant by another male due to her cheating on her husband, which male is responsible? The hus…

Honestly, the problem here is affirmative action. It was a bad idea to begin with, Originally it was the concept that companies go out and find qualified candidates in underrepresented groups, (women, blacks, etc), which was perfectly fine IMO. Unfortunately, politics being what it is, it quickly morphed into a check list and accounting method, where the number of each group must match the population as closely as possible. qualifications became irrelevant. That is when it became evil, treating …

+1 This is why I follow and post articles like this. Not because I think the adults should get decades of prison, but due to the disparity in treatment of the offender. There should be some sort of variable sentences based on the age differences, and called something other than rape if it does not involve force or coercion. All based on whether the younger person is at age of consent. In this case that includes an eighth grader who was almost certainly way below the age of consent, so some sort …

I know the laws are complicated, but in gnereal if everyone consents then all is legal. The problem is what constitutes consent in each jurisdiction. Recording conversation is legally problematic in many places. In the U.S. every state has it's own rules, and if a phone conversation is involved it can also include other rules, and the feds. It gets very complicated. It's a topic that really needs a lawyer to discuss

Modern press organizations are for profit enterprises that have no allegiance or obligation to factual reporting of news. Nonesense. If a consistent difference in how similar cases like this can be shown, could that be grounds for a Constitutional challenge, and how likely would it be to succeed? Maybe some attorney's can chime in on this.
