I second this. On the whole I play every 4-7 months... but I’ll binge and play for 3-8 hours in one go then not again for months. But overall it is a preoccupation and distraction from the world we actually live in, to immerse yourself in virtual world that is all 1’s and 0’s and meaningless. That said, video games these days are on par with movies and music for entertainment and perhaps even some moral and emotional value. I think you’ve just grown out of it, or reprioritized. You’ve changed. T…

Visiting my father right now. (I’m around 40) We do seldom see eye to eye on much of anything. But to try to live for your parents and do what they expect isn’t going your own way. It’s hard, but you should learn to laugh at it. Dad tried to drive me through enviable neighbourhoods and seems distraught that I’m not wowed by stuff or money or property. He just can’t even conceive that I don’t give a shit what some random dudes house looks like. My lack of aspiration pains him I know, but it’s way…

Guitar and my bed. Though I might have 3 guitars and a bass. But in essence somewhere to sleep, books to read, and guitars to play.

I love my kindle. Top 3 possessions I’d say.

They don’t MAKE you do it. But you will do it under their seduction. They sing the sirens song. He’s right.

I think he’s speaking about romantic love solely. Clearly a mother loves a child. A man loves his dog. That kid loves his guitar. Etc A little over a year ago I would have told you I was madly in love with a particular woman, but hindsight being 20/20 I would now like to plead insanity. I betrayed my principles and values, spent thousands and thousands of dollars, and years on my life on multiple people and it has always been a waste. Even if true love were possible to achieve, in this age of so…

I feel like I may have misinformed you now that I’m checking into it... lol. I read a great book a long time ago called the Consolations of Philosophy by Alain De Botton and for some reason I thought he’d stated something like this. If you want a philosophical compilation it is a great read. Each chapter address a subject we may like to be consoled on and it rolls through philosophy of Epicurus, Socrates, Seneca, Montaigne... The consolation of rejection was a chapter on Nietzsche. Sorry if I li…

I tried intermittent fasting with keto diet and can confirm there was a mental clarity with this. Had MCT oil with coffee in the morning. Would eat at 12 pm, and 5 pm and then not again until 12 pm the next day. It was like a veil was lifted, and everything became vivid. I had energy, and almost no food cravings. Along with sleep and water etc I agree.

Really well written and said. For years and years I hated the idea of being cheated on. I felt angry even at such a young age, due to early tastes of betrayal by women, it made my blood boil to even think of a guy with my woman. I was almost psycho about it. First taste was grade 7. 13 years old. Brought a friend to a party hosted by my girlfriend, called them both the next day... they were out, with each other. In another instance, A guy moved in with my girlfriend of 2-3 years when I was young…

The problem is really advanced in medicine have us living to the point we’re near zombie state at a certain age. You die at 35-50 like years past you’re able bodied... they keep you alive now to 107 and yeah you need help lifting your own arm. Also, there are children today and they don’t want to care for their parents so they stick them in a home and use money to have them cared for. Creates jobs I suppose but I feel like a lot of seniors are seriously concerned about being cared for by people …

You presuppose that South Korean women have the culture, attention seeking and narcissistic vanity of women in North America or parts of Europe (UK). Perhaps in South Korea they have women that are still predisposed to still actually caring for men, and generally content with female role and associated ‘responsibilities’... washing his clothes, making him a sandwich, whatever else. It could be that they’re becoming ‘non serviam’ which I feel like women here in North America established here a wh…

Also, those times you declare it boys night and head off with your posse is probably the night she’s got some other dude over... so you become clingy so as to not give her space to fuck too over, somehow she pulls it off anyway.

Some guys believe(d) in love. They invest in the friend that can give them more than friendship... love/sex. Makes you feel alive, makes you feel like a man. It’s amazing... until it all comes crashing down and you lose your money, and your house etc... Some guys are romantic until they’re not. Buried my own sense of romance a few months back. It’s dead, no chance at resurrection. The anger part is that it’s not reciprocated, the respect or loyalty, not even close... and you’re expendable... and…
