Okay, I can work with that. I realise there is a continuum, but is causing actual, non-trivial self-doubt a goal or just an occasional side effect of said tickling? I mean, from your example, I would imagine a reasonably well-adjusted girl will not spiral into bulimia after a few comments about her dress. But obviously not everyone is well-adjusted. Could you elaborate? It's not in the glossary of the TRP subreddit, but I'm curious, because I also perceive negging and banter as separate things. Maybe I've just seen shit attempts, I don't know.

"Gee, I'm glad I'm not that guy" ≠ "That teaches him not to speed, the stupid dead bastard" You can hate those people all you want, I'm not saying there are no creepy fucks around, but if there is no malice, no self-satisfaction, that is not schadenfreude. I assume you don't think people watching the 9/11 news footage were happy about all those people dying, but I can assure you, most of them weren't thinking about the geopolitical implications.
