Pension annuity would be determined by whether or not you elect single or joint life payout regardless of gender to which the pension ties. On individual annuities I could certainly see that being a discriminatory issue but if we are looking at actuarial tables for life expectancy as discrimination is it also the case for insuring male or female drivers?

Generally speaking the pension recipient has the option to receive their pension payout as a single life annuity or including a survivor benefit. Therefore it is up to the worker how they wish to get paid and if they prefer their spouse with a statistically longer life expectancy to continue receiving income after their statistically sooner passing.
