I can't speak for men, but I have to admit I have this petty feeling of revenge. I'm 22, my boyfriend is 44, his ex is somewhere around his age. I know that she hates me and it's absolutely amazing. I'm sure she thinks I'm your typical clueless twenty-something, a nice trophy and good for fucking but not much else. So when I met her a few weeks ago I made it a point to boast about how I was admitted to my country's best university to do my master's with almost maximum points and how I got nomina…

Same here. Right now I'm in a healthy relationship and I often ask my mom how to solve our problems that occur once in a while, but years back she actually opened my eyes about guy who was really toxic and then gave me advice on how to dump him. She doesn't want me to keep a guy at any cost, she wants me to be happy.

I wouldn't really talk about fallacies if I were you... If you're not really keen on reading factual evidence, you can alternatively try literature. De Laclos delivers an excellent criticism of the 18th century French nobility and the commonness of extramarital affairs among them in Les liaisons dangereuses. But I'm leaving it at that, you're clearly not interested in anything that contradicts your worldview, like, I don't know, History... So have fun playing with yourself.

Oh my sweet summer child. Please brush up on your History. During the Ancien Régime in France there even was a title for the official mistress of the king.

The legal directive (on which Blackstone commented) was called couverture, and it pretty much said what Blackstone said. But if you don't see why it is outrageous that a wife (so a fully autonomus adult person, if for the sake of the argument we agree that child marriages didn't happen) loses all legal and economic agency over herself then I can't help you. Maybe try viewing women as what they are - autonomous people - and you'll understand.

Lol, that's why people kept lovers, because they weren't miserable in their loveless marriages. Sure.

Oh, I'm used to it, my father is the same way. They seem to think that their opinion of the world is the only valid one and everyone else is wrong.

I will say it again, please read it carefully. What is inherent from an evolutionary viewpoint is not necessarily inherent from an individual viewpoint and vice versa. I don't think that's such a hard concept to understand. As for the foundation of my argument, it's not me protecting women. Any sexual psychologist would agree that expressing and acting on one's sexual urges - provided in a safe and consensual way - doesn't do any damage, whether it's a long term relationship or a one night stand…

And your evidence to support it is...?

Well then kindly enter into an arranged marriage and leave all of us who don't wish to be psychologically damaged alone.

You still don't understand. I said what can be seen as inherent from one point of view doesn't have to be from another. Do with it what you will.

Can you really not see the distinction between making your kid clean their room or paying your taxes and person being forced into a "relationship" in which they will have to submit themselves to and have sex with someone they don't want?

Did you even read what I had written? It's not its only function so it doesn't necessarily cause pair bonding. Also, there are numerous cases when mothers don't even bond with their children, hormones or no hormones. So basing your argument on them is a pretty weak leg to stand on. Since you stated that the inherent nature of sex and intimacy and whatever else you haven't dragged into this is based on what hormones do, but we clearly see that simply producing these hormones does not necessarily …

You assume that pair bonding necessarily happens because of the hormones. It does not, because as I've said, they have several separate functions that don't have to manifest together: you can be aroused without bonding. Thus you don't have any basis for the argument that because of the hormones, sex has any inherent meaning.

If being forced to marry someone for political reasons doesn't scream being treated like property, I don't know what does, but fine, let's look at some facts about inheriting land (or anything, really). I am specifically talking about England here, but feel free to look for couverture-like laws in all of Europe. "As the anonymous The laws respecting women of 1777 explained, by ‘marriage the very being or legal existence of a woman is suspended; or at least it is incorporated and consolidated int…

Where do you get the idea from that you have to train your mind to not see sex as meaningful? Loveless arranged marriages in the past had plenty of sexual activity but it didn't make people fall in love or be intimate in the least. Mainly for women it was seen as a chore, something to suffer through and none of the hormones in question made it an intimate act. And let's not forget the fact that hormones, such as oxytocin, have a multitude of purposes. They can facilitate pair bonding, sure, but …

noblewomen were hardly property (at least in Europe)Europe did not really have a tradition of treating women like property Oh sure they were and sure it did. Let's take a look at the Habsburgs in the 1700's, more specifically the daughters of Maria Theresa of Austria. https://www.habsburger.net/en/chapter/maria-theresas-children?language=en "Maria Theresa’s first child, a daughter named Maria Elisabeth(1737–1740), died while still a young child. The eldest of the surviving children was Maria Ann…

THIS. I don't get why this is so hard to understand. Some people really like peaches. They eat them every day, they bake cakes with them. I really hate peaches. In fact, I'm so allergic to them that I will die if I eat one. Still, I don't go around hating on people who like them because it's their thing and who am I to say they are wrong just because I would never eat one. Let them eat peach.

The world is not so black and white. There are people who can't have sex without being in love or feeling a strong emotional bond with their partner. It's totally fine. And there are people who don't need any of that, they can have sex without any intimacy or feelings toward the other. It's totally fine too. You can have your own standards and morals but so can others and if they are different it doesn't mean one is right and one is wrong. It only means that different things are right for differ…

But the point is it's not all about looks. When most people say hot enough they usually think appearance but it's not as big of a deal.

For me, absolutely. Being wanted by a man of intelligence, sophistication and distinguished taste is so much better than by just someone who happens to look good.

No, I meant it when I said scum. I've seen childless people (women in particular) being told that they are worthless without kids or even that they should kill themselves because they're not right in the head. My country's government has even made a propaganda video saying that if you don't have at least 2 kids you are responsible for the decline of the country and you basically spit on the graves of the national heroes. Now I wouldn't say that it's politely telling them that they might be wrong…

While I agree with you, still a lot of people think that a woman absolutely has to have children. Otherwise, they're not real women (whatever that means) and they get treated like the scum of the earth for not wanting to procreate.

I once had a boyfriend who looked like a Greek god. Holy fuck was he tall and muscular and naturally good looking. The problem is, he was dumb. He was dumb to the point that we broke up after a month or two because we didn't have any common interests and we couldn't talk about anything besides getting stoned. My current boyfriend is good looking, but mainly because of the way he dresses. He has a great sense of style. Other than that, he is pretty ordinary but he has a beard and a cute dad body …

I don't think height is as big of an issue as men like to think. I mean, I'm 166 cm (it's around 5'4" I think) and my boyfriend is something like 170 cm (around 5'5"). I always wear high heels so when we're out, I'm always a little taller than him. I don't care. For the second part of the question: there are women (the majority, actually) who for the most time can't have an orgasm from penetration only. You can't do anything about it. You sound like you think a clitoral orgasm is something to be…

I had a boyfriend who was trying to "lead". Worst relationship of my life. I didn't have any respect for him because he didn't give me any. I am a very dominant person in most fields of life and he thought he could break me and make me obedient and submissive by shaming me for it. It didn't work and I dumped his crazy ass.

Hey, have you found a therapist yet as I had suggested you do the other day? Delusional misogyny will not go away on its own.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
