My first impulse is to ask who tells them that they are not allowed to have/show feelings? I'm not sure, if I get your point, though you're right with what you mentioned. Some/many (?) men are not good at dealing with emotional pressure, conflicts, hurt feelings. This leads, among other things, to some of the things you mentioned and sometimes to rampages. I do not read reproaches in her text, but rather an indication that should be given more attention.
