I don't know about the US, but I was speaking to a barrister in Australia and asked what the shortest deliberation he'd seen was, and he basically said the jury immediately sent a jury note asking "is there a minimum time we have to be out for?" Answer, no. 10 minutes to give a not guilty verdict. He did describe it as a once in a career event

I mean, it's really common for people to just not have to do jury duty. I literally just said "I'm a uni student" and didn't have to do it.

The fact we as a nation still let it (horse racing in general too) happen is disgusting. It brings out the worst in some people, and is SUPER unethical.

You can get a night with a hooker for like 1/10th of that. If you're gonna pay for it, get a professional.

It's more about nerves than meat. Sternum was fine, but getting near the underarm was EXCRUCIATING

Nowhere near as good as when the guy who drops him says: "Dude you got your ass kicked by a 50 year old today"

To be fair, she only had enough for personal use, where he was distribting

Hang on, we are lacking an important piece of data here. What is the percentage of journalists who are women? If it's equal to or greater than 19% then this stat is fucking dumb. If not, then they have a higher rate of fatality. Gotta look at the whole picture. NB: I think it's unlikely that women make up less than 19% of journalists, but we need to learn to not take stats at face value.

Do you have any evidence to support that claim?

Nah, this guy was a shit. He tried to steal his portion (after ordering crazy shit) and just yeet himself out of there. Don't try and frame this as him refusing to pay for his date, he refused to pay for himself.

Wow, I can't believe I'm talking to a real astronaut, who knows more about space travel than a literal journalist!

What movie is this referencing? I'd like to watch it

Not coming from official NASA documentation, but from what I read in "Packing For Mars" (very good read btw) Astronauts tend to become very reluctant to return to the craft during a spacewalk due to how utterly amazing it is. They basically had to pull Edward White back in he wanted to stay and look so badly. I imagine the buddy system is to help keep you grounded in a way to the task and returning. Think of it like a buddy telling you the psiren song isn't real and to get back to the ship

Given the force of the hit, I think it's more likely she's actually dazed. Think about how much force it takes to hit 50kg so hard it flies 2m. She probably couldn't see or think properly for a few seconds

Everyone is raging on trans people here but I just don't get it. This person is clearly angry and behaving like a toddler throwing a tantrum. Misgendering happens, and it sucks for the person, but a firm polite correction is all it takes for a rational human to deal with it. Threatening staff because UNDER DURESS they slipped up is super uncalled for.

It's actually a "tactical utility muzzle knife", not a bayonet

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
