I’m not sure why but whenever I unclench my jaw, I feel anxious. Like it feels off and I react negatively to it.

I love that one song called Ocean Drive by Duke Dumont.

I love all sorts of music. It’s really hard to stick to a certain genre because it really depends on what I’m in the mood for. Lately it’s been a lot of rap lol.

This motivates me to take this quarantine to actually better myself and how I look. I’m 19 and I feel time is running out because I don’t really do a good job taking care of myself as I should.

I wish I would have maintained my virginity. I only have one body count but I’m still going through that kind of “grieving” of losing it was because I was careless.

The thing is, I can’t see a professional at the moment b it I’m working on it. My insurance is only covering birth control right now and I just don’t have the money to see one.

This was very helpful, thank you lots! I don’t have a routine for myself but really need to make one since I have so much time. I’ve been wanting to try out waking up earlier because I have heard it was beneficial. I never really took the time to actually wind down at night time and just lay down and hope to fall asleep when I’m ready to. I think I’ll start taking the time to wind down from now on to get myself mentally prepared. I really like that approach. And I do have a bit of a phone proble…

I really do need to see a therapist because I’ve been struggling with anxiety issues for a long time as they’ve gotten increasingly worse over the years. I don’t have the means to as of now, however. But I am working on trying to get things in order so I can have one. I have tried melatonin for a while but for some reason it really makes me feel panicky while falling asleep but I learned the dosage was most likely too much so I’m going to try take a smaller amount of it. But thank you lots. I wi…

My diet is very sporadic, I’m either eating junk or something healthy. I’m also a binge/emotional eater as well, which is something I’ve been struggling with even more for months now.

I’ve never really thought of try things out this way. I’m always bringing myself down when I feel I’m being too unproductive or just lazy. But I really like this approach, thank you so much. I unfortunately don’t have the means to see a therapist at the moment, but I am trying to get everything situated so I can do do so.

Honestly, I’ve suspected it? But I’ve never been diagnosed or anything. But I know I go through those periods where as you described, everything becomes dull and joyless and I feel I just don’t care about anything. I lose desire to do even the basic of tasks.

I always go to sleep wearing comfortable clothes, but they aren’t attractive at all. This makes me want to change that so much! Especially hearing the effect it had on you the next day.

This is something I worry about a lot. My worst fear is ending up like my mom. Her taste in men has never been the best. My dad was a drug addict who now has an alcohol addiction. He’s childish as hell and relies on his sisters for a place to stay. My step dad is pretty much the same — ex drug addict with an alcohol addiction. He is verbally abusive to my mom and treats her like shit. I see myself in her a lot. I love her but don’t ever want to end up like her or have any relationships like her.

Thank you. That’s very understandable and I can see why it wouldn’t be fair to try and except someone to have that standard if I don’t myself. I know I have talked to men who “prefer women with experience” but I think I just have a fear of having a high “body count” or becoming promiscuous.

I think the experience with my first time bummed me out because I rushed myself. I wasn’t really expecting to wait until marriage but I do wish I wouldn’t have rushed myself into something I wasn’t ready for emotionally. If that makes sense? I think it was big for me personally because my past issues.

I think that can work. I know I sometimes feel a bit..bothered, for lack of a better word, when I see rooms that look neat and tidy on social media. Or even watching “Clean With Me” videos on YouTube where people dedicate to cleaning.

Thank you! This helped a lot! I do have a lot of unnecessary clutter in my room and bathroom that I really need to sort out and throw out/donate. But I never really thought of doing it. But I’ll definitely get to it ASAP when I can. I’ve been trying to set a goal of at least setting aside like 30 mins of cleaning/tidying up. Maybe I’ll work harder at actually sticking to it.

I don’t want to be controlling or bossy, but it is frustrating because they don’t really put the effort to keep our shared spaces clean. But you are right, I can’t really force them to do anything they aren’t willing or wanting to do. I’m currently trying to get a part time job and take better care of myself. Thank you!

In all honesty, I’d prefer someone who is 5’6-5’9 over a 6ft guy. Just because I find it’d be easier to kiss and actually do cute couple shit.

I’ve gotten that so many times too. I remember in my junior year a girl next to me in class passed me a note asking if I was okay. I felt so embarrassed having to be like, “oh no I’m okay!” Lol!

I know guys are mostly expected to be the ones to approach you and make the first move. Although, admittedly I suppose I never really put much thought into the issue. But I know I have always had a bit of a weird approach whenever I took interest in a guy for as long as I could remember. I find that I’ve always sort of avoided anyone I had a crush on. I just never interacted with them or put in the effort. Not because I expected them to know or make an effort to approach me but because I had alw…

I’m a huge fan of AlexandrasGirlyTalk, actually! But never heard of MrsMidwest so I’ll give their channel a try! I know I need to work on how I dress myself up and putting in more effort in my overall appearance. I used to wear nothing but sweats and hoodies throughout middle school and some of high school but thankfully I’ve kind of evolved from that. But my style can definitely still use a lot of work. I absolutely love makeup and have been playing with it a lot more and learning new technique…

I have never worked in retail before but this is a good idea. I think I worry too much about being too awkward or something of the sort so I kind of try avoid looking at someone too long or make eye contact. But I’ll definitely try the smiling approach and practice it a bit. Thank you!

I’ll try that out! I think I have a bad habit of avoiding people’s gaze whenever they make eye contact with me or we cross paths. I guess I’m worried about being awkward or something. But I’ll definitely try this out, especially at school. Thank you!

I’m pretty new to this sub, I joined like three days ago. So, I’m not sure what to really tell you? All I said was there are male groups that have kicked women out for being women and provided you an example of one I’ve seen. Anyways, good luck.

My step dad pulls this shit all the time. I do help clean the dishes, and I always ask my mom if she needs help with dinner. Her usually is no with an occasional yes. But he’s always telling us “help your mom” as his ass is sitting on the couch for 5 hours straight doing nothing. He never cleans his mess up and claims “I work”. Okay? It doesn’t take you all day to clean your one dish you used or clean up the mess you made in the kitchen.

This reminds me of a conversation from my younger sister and her dad yesterday. He was complaining about the time it’ll take for the food to cook and said something along the lines, “and it won’t even be that good!” And she just replies with, “if you’re going to complain, you can just go to sleep and starve,”

My big goal for this month is to busy myself for at least 5 hours a week, 1 hour a day. I have a very bad habit of being on my phone in the same spot on my bed for HOURS. Even when I know I have important things to do like do schoolwork or chores. I want to get in the habit of being more productive whether that mean reading, cleaning, learning a new hobby, exercising, etc. Everyday after school (Mon-Thurs) I will do something productive for at least an hour. I’ll study my target language, clean …

I actually hadn’t given it any thought but now that you mentioned it, I do need to get a proper sizing and learn how to wear one. I have taken up your advice and recently started doing my research on what I can do to improve my skins and elasticity during weight loss. Thank you so much for your reply. Honestly, I recently had sex with someone I had been talking to for a while. And while he was such a nice guy and a gentleman, I had wished I wouldn’t have. For years I felt the same exact way as you. The idea of losing my virginity was actually very unappealing to me. I had fears of being used for it, of being another conquest for men. I think it also had something to do with me being touched when I was younger. To feel a sense of control maybe? It all made sense to me at the time, lol. So I do…

Thank you so much. Reading this was very helpful and helped me see a bit of a different perspective with myself. And you've given a lot of helpful advice. I have been so caught up with my self loathing and being ashamed all the time I never really stopped to think that I did turn out a lot better than I give myself credit for. Especially since addiction is hereditary in my family. I recognizing my issues is definitely a start. I know I would like a healthy love and sex life. As for my kinks and …

Yeah, that is true. Probably badly worded on my end. I think I didn't know what to call it. I have put relationships on hold for that very reason. I guess it just feels like I'm not making any progress no matter what I try because I always end up getting "one of those days" types of things.

Thank you so much. I have been trying to get myself to look into counseling, I'll have to try a bit harder on it. And I know I've been wanting to learn new languages for a long time and I have been getting back on track with it. My mom tells me I've always been chubby my entire life. I grew up with my entire family having bad eating habits and I think it just got worse after I started using it as away to cope. Especially when I started having panic/anxiety attacks. It is something I've been tryi…
