Honestly, I think the answer for me is usually whatever the woman truly wants (not pretends to want to be humble). I like diamonds but personally felt like the ethics were questionable, so a 2 carat equivalent HIGH QUALITY moissanite is what I fell in love with and what my fiancé gave me. I showed him my dream ring year before we got engaged. It was a little over $3,000, which is way less than a diamond but way more than a questionable random etsy ring. It is the exact ring that is now sitting o…

This is so sweet, but it also reminds me of some amazing friendships I have with the women in my life, too. Reminder that you don’t need to wait for a man to love and be loved.

I am POSITIVE that my fiancé is on the spectrum, though I suspect he has no idea. Being that I’m the only that seems to know, he’s never used it as an “excuse” nor has he really needed to. It can definitely present challenges - he thinks almost strictly logically. Sometimes he doesn’t pick up on why he should/shouldn’t have done something/reacted a certain way, but never in a way that is seriously detrimental. The biggest difference, and the reason I am more than happy to accept our differences …

Thank you so much for sharing, OP. My mom was a victim of abuse her entire life. Literally her ENTIRE life she was controlled and abused physically, mentally, and emotionally by men. She was with my step father for 20 years and even though that man never once considered her feelings - to this day she struggles with an immense amount of guilt over divorcing him. It breaks my heart. She deserves to live a life free from control, guilt, and abuse. I hope one day that guilt will be alleviated, and i…

I'm so proud of you for making the difficult choice. Seriously, it's SO hard to choose what's best for us sometimes and in the midst of your heartache, I hope you take a second to applaud yourself. You already know this, but decent men are more than happy and willing to marry the women they love. This man is trying to instill BS in you as a last-ditch effort to keep you under his thumb. I'm so proud of you for seeing through it. Cheers to a beautiful future, love!

Hopefully someone who's been familiar with FDS for longer than I have can chime in, but I would say 2 big things: In my opinion, the point of having a two-year timeline is to make sure the man you are with isn't future faking or wasting your time. If you don't want to get married until you're 30, I would probably advise against sharing that information with men until you are fairly certain they are someone that you would want to marry. LVM will see that as an excuse to not plan a future with you…

Neuters really do work miracles for dogs - I don’t know how anyone lives with an intact male dog without losing their minds. I wonder if neuters would have the same effect on human males 🤔 Also super glad your pup mellowed out!

Totally wasn’t trying to invalidate your experience by the way and I’m super sorry if it came off that way.

When I met my now fiancé, I was just barely starting to understand the FDS mindset so I was still a pick me in SO many ways. I am mortified to say that I encouraged us having anal even though he never mentioned it. I was so used to my porn sick ex boyfriends constant demands for “kinky” sex, that I thought it was the only way to make him wild about me. He did it, I think, because it’s what he thought I wanted, and then he never mentioned it or tried it again. I remember thinking it was so “odd” …

To be fair, the vet isn’t wrong about pediatric neuters (and spays) being harmful. It’s just kind of disagreed upon in the veterinary community, so it’s possible your vet held that belief and another vet at the hospital held opposing beliefs and had no problem spaying your female. As much as I agree that men’s obsession with animal balls is comical and disgusting, I was a vet tech for many years and worked with maaaaaany makes doctors, all of who were happy to perform neuters. The information ab…

Engaged. He proposed after roughly a year and a half. Our wedding date is set for roughly a little over a year from our engagement. Two years was the max I was willing to stay with him without a proposal. It simply doesn’t take long to know whether or not you want to commit to and marry someone. Anyone still trying to figure out if they do after that long has already figured it out, and the answer is they don’t want to. I’m also cautious of rushing into marriage, so the timeline part is tricky. …

This made me furious, honestly. The fact that this man thinks her taking good care of an animal she is responsible for is “obsession” just... wow. It’s the bare minimum of being a decent human, asshole. I just drove 3,000 miles to get my dog to the most trusted surgeon. Why? Because she’s my responsibility and she can’t make her own choices. I bet you he’d have me committed to a hospital if he knew.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head. Almost every man I’ve seriously dated just “wants kids” and has put no thought into how he would afford kids/daycare/to have the mother stay home. That is 1 of four million reasons why I admire my fiancé. He never just said he wanted kids - he said he is actively planning/saving money to be able to comfortably have kids, without having to consider one parent quitting their career if they didn’t want to. Outside of him, I have never heard a man speak about the p…

The whole Mia KHALIFA thing makes me sick. These Scrooge’s will justify anything.

Ugh this case shook me to my core, I think because I could see the man I was with doing something like this. I felt it in my gut. I was obsessed with this case. I’m so glad I’m out of that now.
