I do believe that major orgs have marginalized white men in the corporate workplace, and I've actively seen several fortune 100 companies prioritize hiring women specifically. I have endless examples of "we have enough white men, we need women" - while the women who benefit the most are white women. Anyway, they almost never said any of this via e-mail or chat but they'll tell you person to person and they will be very direct about it. We all know many of those women. I've seen the literal shock on their faces when they find out some linemen earn 250k per year in low cost of living areas. What's weird is she was the one who first mentioned that if I ever pursued anything, she would be 100% down. Before that I had no interest in moving the needle. Do you think she was just looking for validation at this point due to being cheated on? I don't see her being that opportunistic but then again women do crazy things.

I appreciate the response and I absolutely will not bring it up again. Up until recently I have never had to bring up these sort of talks but I felt like it was such a sure thing after all the sex talk, daily nude snaps and her paying for us to go to concerts, movies etc I guess I just got it twisted. Question though, what if I try to escalate and I get refused. Should I ghost her?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
