I think the post was misunderstood. I believe that it was basically saying to watch out for men are seemingly out of your league aka way more attractive or way more wealthy as they are often trying to profit from an unbalanced power dynamic. It is like wealthy men who date poor women to have the "upper hand" in the relationship. Of course, HV is determined by character but quality people likely look for those in the same socioeconomic class, attractiveness level, etc. Statistics on marriage poin…

Yes, my ex would do the same thing. He was always saying how he had to be gentle around me but still told me about his violent tendencies when I wasn't around. You are so right about the subtle forms of intimidation. That is huge one! He is basically reminding you that he is in charge and putting a slight threat of violence if you don't listen.

Breaking, throwing, hitting, or slamming anything. Doing anything aggressive or loud that would make you jump, especially if he seems to not care he startled you. Road rage is a red flag as well.

Meh, not your responsibility. Start putting distance and avoid hanging out without him. Just do a slow fade. It wouldn't make sense to keep him in your life just to warn any woman that comes near him he is no good. Plus, a good percentage of them wouldn't listen. Prioritize yourself.

A person who wants the best for you will set consequences and boundaries that encourage you to reflect on your behavior and improve. Indulging someone's bad behavior that is harmful to themselves and others is what those with weak character do.

I do not have similar experiences but I am so sorry that happened to you. You are brave for reporting. Your ex is awful, please do not continue speaking to him. The way he acted is not your fault at all. You deserve someone who would be there for you after experiencing such a traumatic situation. He was incredibly selfish and calloused to make your rape about him. Even when he is messaging you about being strong, it was about his feelings being hurt by how you have "moved on". As painful as it i…

Yup, I really appreciate that about her as well. She is more about the style of items, rather than the price. But to each their own, Anna's videos appeal to a different audience.

They can't deal with how real it is, they can't deal with the concept of death, that they're suddenly middle aged. How many husbands have abandoned their sick wives in favour of a younger woman? A woman who represents their fantasies? A younger woman who represents escapism from death? Yup, I think you're really right about this. I also see a lot of middle-aged men who cannot deal with the idea of having to grow up in other ways as well. I see men who were really athletic in high school or colle…

Kibbe "romantics" look amazing in flowery and flowy clothing! Good for you for choosing to dress and act the way that makes you happy. As someone who has a more classic style, I've always wished I could pull off more feminine clothing. I guess everyone wants what they don't have, huh?

Usually it's some version of dad freaking out when a toddler doesn't submit to his control. This! I don't see a lot of people bring it up but when a parent, usually the father, freaks out because he cannot control his child it only makes it worse. The kid learns they are in control of their parent's emotions and generally feel unstable or try to manipulate.

I think it helps those who might be wandering into that territory to stay away, but you're right that shaming will probably only drive those who are already involved to be defensive.

It was supposed to mean let your man be head of household in the sense that it's his responsibility to earn most of the income, his responsibility to make the kids mind, his responsibility to plan all major life decisions like where we're gonna move to, can we afford it, what's the best neighborhood for schools, what taxes are we looking at, etc. etc. Yes, men have been twisting the meaning of submission for centuries. It is about taking initiative. The mental and emotional load that women have …

I agree only because it is easier for a man's behavior to influence a woman than for a woman to influence a man's. If her father is a quality man, his wife, whether she has self respect or not, will probably develop it from the way he treats her. Woman tend to be more responsive whereas men will act low quality if that is what they are, no matter what type of woman they are with. So yes, only because that means the marriage/relationship the daughter is around is likely better as a whole.

Looking for these qualities is an excellent way to vet for bad morals, yet it makes me sad because I don’t want ppl making assumptions about me due to my family being assholes. I was thinking the same thing reading this. I think it reveals a lot how he acts around those toxic dynamics. I wouldn't immediately next a man for something he can't control. Cutting off family is a huge deal. I always look at close friends which should be HV, while it is understandable if family is not.

The only men I see explaining biblical gender roles in a way that isn't misogynistic (and in my opinion, the way that God intended) are RC Blakes, Tony Gaskins, and Derrik Jaxn. They are all Christian men. Most people just twist their "faith" to fit what they want to believe anyways. I really want to make a strategy post on dating in the Christian community once I get more experience. The red flags are a lot more subtle.

Yeah, I wasn't being serious. Honestly, doesn't matter whether he acts incompetent or actually is. The reason for people's bad behavior matters very little in life. Bad behavior + good intentions is how people guilt us into accepting the bad behavior.

And they’re everywhere As someone who sometimes gets annoyed at the male depravity posts, this has changed my perspective on the importance of them. They are horrifying but we can't hide from harsh truths. Ignoring reality only makes us more vulnerable. Since I've joined FDS, I've started to notice how often these statements are made and how the vast majority of men and even women have these views. We have been conditioned all our lives to think this is okay, but just because it's normal, it's n…

I get that. I doubt we could even come up with as many ridiculous standards as they have. But even if we could, they aren't ever going to feel how awful it is for us because they will never experience the fear that comes from objectification. They have the physical power and societal "cover" to use and abuse women, to take advantage of us and get away with it.

Honestly, I felt weird posting that sterotypical "but what about the men" sort of comment, but to me it's not about "making it about men". I think not objectifying people is more about caring about others in a general sense. It's about personal character.

They want to be the choosers to boost their egos. They want to be competed for and have women drop into their laps. Women are the choosers because we have to choose carefully in order to protect ourselves from draining or even dangerous men. They don't deal with those risks which is why a lot of men will explore any option. What do they have to lose? They don't feel the need to vet women to be safe. If they want to be choosers, they should try taking on the entire experience of being a woman.

LVM think someone is better than no one, because they can’t face their own inadequacy. Perfectly said. It's starting to dawn on me why a lot of men are obsessed with quantity over quality... because women are not viewed as people with whom they can form connections, but rather objects to validate them externally. It is sad how many times their behavior circles around to their ego.

That’s why most women don’t respect them, especially men of today. Because they have more ‘balls’ than the men in their lives- they are more protective, more capable of honesty, more reliable on the whole. Exactly. Men don't have character and want women who do. That's not how it works. No woman wants to constantly have to step up because her man is incompetent. At that point, why be with him? It's no fun pulling your weight and then half of his.

Even if it can be more ethical than buying meat, if hunting doesn't sit right with you, it is important to honor your feelings. Your opinion about him hunting probably isn't going to change, so I would think about whether you want to continue the relationship knowing that. I'm sorry that you just found out about this now. It is difficult to make choices like these when you are in love with someone.
/r/askFDS15/10/20 09:37 PM

I don't think it is inherently LVM, as long as he eats the animals he hunts. I can't see any justification for hunting for sport alone. I don't like it so I wouldn't date a man who does. I think it is a personal matter of how you feel about it. If it does not bother you, I would just continue vetting, paying special attention to how empathetic he is. Hunting may be a sign of low empathy but not always.

-I would like to see more things centered around the betterment of the woman not directly linked to a man. So women who are single or dating but are successful. Example young judges, doctors, lawyers, business owners, or being successful in anyway or form. AKA more HVW shown. Yes! I second this strongly. Also, habits, mindsets, etc. that help us as women improve ourselves, although that might fit better on r/FemaleLevelUpStrategy

So true! most people don't go that long in-between checking their phone so unless they have a specific circumstances that explain that behavior, they are likely choosing not to respond and trying seem disinterested. It is one of their key techniques to "get a girl obsessed with you" aka manipulate insecure women so they can get sex and an ego boost.

Exactly true 50/50 on everything is impossible anyways. He isn't going carry your children in his body for 4 and 1/2 months... nor will he give you the emotional support you give him... Equality means our contributions to the partnership are of equal value because going 50/50 everywhere is just unrealistic, and if it were possible it would be tedious and suck all of the life out of a relationship. It's sad that women contribute is so often dismissed and unappreciated.

So true. Women are taught from a young age that men will save them and that love from a man is the greatest proof of a woman's worth.

Exactly, men who have character and are looking for serious relationships are interested in getting to know you from the onset. If a man sees you as is a sex object, by all means, avoid him, but we are looking for men that already view us as human beings (looking for partnerships) rather than trying to prove we deserve to be treated like one. It is more of the "it is your responsibility to change him" bs.

Hm, maybe. They do often take it for granted and minimize its value. It could be similar to men not understanding how women live in daily fear for their physical safety. Or maybe he just that understands that emotional support from men is not the same as the emotional support from women in a relationship. That's why their quality of life increases so much more in relationships than ours does. The truth is that 99% of the time women provide far more emotional support to men than men provide for w…
