I met up with a girl on bumble last year after debating with myself whether or not I should delete my dating apps entirely. Guess I have unbelievable luck because the one girl I actually went on a date with is the most incredible person I’ve ever met and she feels the same way about me. I have pretty bad anxiety as well and almost didn’t cancelled on her the first time, but my god and I glad I didn’t. The problem isn't that men don't want to watch movies with female leads, its that they want to watch GOOD movies (as everyone does) and Hollywood seems to be unsuccessful at combining the two more often than not for whatever reason (the examples you provided are times that they got it very right).

Out of interest, would you feel the same if a man stabbed his wife/girlfriend with whom he had children if he found out she was cheating on him? I don't mean for this to come off as standoffish i'm just genuinely curious. Also, would you feel the same if her boyfriend had died as a result of her stabbing him?

She stabbed him. Of course she should go to jail. Stabbing someone is inexcusable unless in self defence or protecting someone else from serious harm.
