What would happen if the paternity of the unborn child is unknown? IIRC, it can be difficult/dangerous to get a dna sample before birth.

Wait, so it's not ok to call myself a feminist because it's rooted in "gender-biased ideology?" The name of this subreddit is rooted in gender-biased ideology. I guess I could make up a new label for myself, but many issues that I'm concerned about are things that specifically affect women, and only women (birth control access, abortion rights, women's health, etc). That's why I call myself a feminist. There are people that take feminism to a strange new level and I completely disagree with them…

Dude, I've been an MRA lurker for a while, and I whole-heartedly agree there are some serious issues that need to be addressed. But all that seems to happen here is that people complain, vilify women and do nothing about it. Why do you think feminism was so successful? While some people today have turned feminism into misandry, there are still feminist issues that need to be addressed (been paying attention to the reproductive rights issues lately?). Not all feminists are bad and some of us woul…

Another one here too! Let's do something about this - any ideas? I don't know where to start.

Is there anything that we can do to begin to change policies? I've seen a lot of similar stories posted on MensRights and it always makes me angry. I don't know much about politics - is this something where we should call our state or our national representatives (is it a state or national issue)? Is there a petition somewhere that we can sign? Is there already some bill that's been drafted that we can help campaign for? It feels silly getting angry and not doing anything about it.

There are some things wrong with some feminists, just as there are some things wrong with some MRAs. I don't think it's going to help your agenda by going around attacking the women's rights movement. You're just going to end up alienating people. Explaining why certain issues should also be of importance to feminists would be a better approach than using deliberately inflammatory comments. There is inequality faced by both sexes, and not all feminists are aware of that. It also seems like many …

While I don't thing gender segregation is the best solution, there is a big problem here. The number of girls in the engineering class jumped from a "few" to ~60 as soon a the No Boys Allowed course was offered. As a former socially-awkward highschool girl, it really was intimidating to enter a class full of boys - that's why I never took woodshop or computer science. Later on, now that I have the confidence and experience, it doesn't faze me that the overwhelming majority of people that work wi…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
