I think the biggest problem is that people follow the crowd way to much. The average person simply believes what others around him think and perhaps,at night with the covers on, believes something slightly different. All to fool themselves into thinking they are individuals. I'm my opinion people are no better today then at any point in history. People just hide it better.

I think It goes farther. After 7 Years Of History Classes In My City The Average Student knows the following. Slaves taken to america. Civil war happened cus slavery stuff. Evil capitalist killed workers. (Literally the only primary document we study is a piece of socialist propaganda). WW2 happened cause far right. While well educated, education just seems like a way of making sure that the average person never thinks again in their life.

While true for the most part, I have a feeling that education is becoming the new evangelical moment. As a senior in hight school almost everyone hates the thought of college. Further more and more are beginning to doubt the education system and it's supposed benifits. While I do agree with your base argument I think that many will be ready to pick up the ruins and start again.
