No clue where you live, so take this with a grain of salt: In the USA, any material goods owned BEFORE the marriage are the sole property of the person that owns it. That means if you owned your house and car BEFORE you got married, they are your property. (Note: She may have a claim if she put a bunch of her money down on repairs or mortgage, but it should be limited to just what she paid.) After a 3 year marriage, you are almost guaranteed to not have to pay alimony if she is still working. So…

This question is context heavy. My ex lied, cheated, and was an alcoholic. Do I love her? Hell no. Do I trust her? Hell no. So, without love there can only be like. And without trust you can’t have either. I don’t hate her, she is at best a neighbor that I don’t want to be around. To me, that is the worst scenario. She means nothing to me, which is worse than loving or hating her.

Bad advice. I live in a default “no fault” state, but can divorce for adultery. Told the wife she has 2 options.. No fault 50/50 with no lawyers, or I use the info I have to fight for 70/30 and full custody. But don’t share the evidence with anyone but your lawyer, especially with a narcissist.

Bro, I am you but getting divorced 10 years later. You know what my kids are telling me? Why didn't you divorce mom earlier. You may think you are protecting her, protecting the kids, etc.. All you are doing is enabling her and punishing those you think you are protecting. Let her hit rock bottom. It is the kindest thing you can do.

My experience is that the loudest voices are: A) Severely wronged B) Narcissists C) Emotionally Immature We never have enough information to truly know which of the three it truly is, but we can get indicators. Comments like “She was toxic as hell and bitchy”, only to see later on in the post “she has poisoned the kids against me” show me maybe she wasn’t as toxic.. Mine thought she was going to be rich as shit and never have to worry about money again after she divorced me. However, turns out that her infidelity cancels out alimony, and at best she will get 1 year of child support (if we go 50/50). She is now worried about even being able to afford a home, after thinking she would get enough to "buy a small beach house". Not sure why people listen to bad advice from TikTok and "friends"... Exactly this. I was always worried this was the case in my marriage, but once divorce was initiated the comments started. Protect yourself and your children and run now. Or, create a trust to put the money in so that she can never get to it.

-You took a childhood friend for a ride on your motorcycle. -A few weeks after this your wife initiated divorce proceedings, and told your children it was because you were having an affair with the childhood friend that you gave a motorcycle ride to? This sounds like I am reading a page in the middle of the book and a page at the end of the book, but have missed the other 400 pages.
