There's intent and there's what is understood. Bluntness sometimes blurs your intent into something more hostile. Nothing wrong with a little more reassurance there isn't any harsh feelings, not for your sake but for who you're talking to. I don't read it as anything bad, but I can see how it may seem like that to another

Girth is most important when it comes to sizes. If you are average sized, any average condom will do, they're all about the same size in the US. If you're well endowed, Skyn Large are the biggest that are readily available in US pharmacies (there's some stupid condom related laws in the US), and they're pretty good, would recommend--non latex, so there is no nasty latex taste or odor.
