Abolish child support!!!Neither a man or woman should be paying child support when custody is 50/50. Child support is for the child. If you’re concerned about a disparity in wages because one spouse makes significantly more than the other due to sacrifices made DURING the marriage then alimony should be awarded. Child support was never intended to be some back door alimony scheme. There is no wage gap between the genders. There’s an earnings gap due to women’s choices. Women are more than capable and have all the oppor… | /r/MensRights | 15/05/24 09:42 AM
Anyone else lose everything? I paid bills out of joint acct during 3 yr divorce, judge ordered me to pay $ back bc I did it w/o permission& 2 yr later judge ordered me to pay my half of house sale within 7 days + 8 yrs spousal support bc she's uneducated. They pretty much disregarded 8 years of premarital assets and gave her half or in some cases just over half of everything including my pension and retirement. She never saved a cent and brought debt to the marriage. I take home less than half my gross. I’m hoping it gets better financially some day, but in MA child support can be ordered until 23. Hopefully you and I will come out better for it. Good luck! | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/24 01:34 AM

I paid bills out of joint acct during 3 yr divorce, judge ordered me to pay $ back bc I did it w/o permission& 2 yr later judge ordered me to pay my half of house sale within 7 days + 8 yrs spousal support bc she's uneducated.I wish I lived in MD. I make $200k per year and my ex makes $100k. I have 50/50 on paper but it’s about 60/40 me in reality (I keep a spreadsheet). I pay $2k per month in child support alone. The system is fucked. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/24 12:55 AM |
Abolish child support!!!Why are you so sexist? Both parents should be responsible for 50% when there is 50/50 custody. That goes for both men and women. Stop being sexist. | /r/MensRights | 14/05/24 09:36 PM
Abolish child support!!!So, how does that imply that a man should have to pay more to support both their kids? Each parent should be responsible for 50% of the kids expenses regardless of their income. There should be zero child support when there is 50/50 custody. | /r/MensRights | 14/05/24 04:35 PM
Abolish child support!!!Why are women working less? Why are women choosing lower paying jobs? Sounds like women need to make better choices instead of relying on men to support them. Real strong and independent, ha. Child support should be banned when there is 50/50 custody. Women need to support their kids too. | /r/MensRights | 14/05/24 03:00 PM

"Bad Person"Do you just go around expecting to give nothing at all in a relationship? How would you feel if someone you were dating is more concerned with you as an emotional burden instead of acknowledging your emotions and being supportive when going through one of the hardest times in your life? That is a fact. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/are-moms-less-likely-than-dads-to-pay-child-support/ The funny thing is the rest of the article is a bunch of bullshit trying to justify why it’s ok for women not to pay. | /r/MensRights | 14/04/24 02:39 PM

Rant: Wife claims husband only pays 1/3 of all the expenses in the household and she pays 2/3The system is truly setup to financially devastate the person who actually works. The is no incentive at all for the one receiving support to have to make any money whatsoever. The strangest thing is it would be in everyone’s best interest for both people to work to their fullest potential and then everyone would have more money, including the one receiving support. | /r/MensRights | 10/04/24 06:20 PM
Rant: Wife claims husband only pays 1/3 of all the expenses in the household and she pays 2/3I wish I knew if they really believe this nonsense or not. When my ex finally started work after being a stay at home mom for 10 years against my wishes, she wanted to have her own bank account, but not contribute anything financially to the household, bills, food, absolutely nothing. I was not opposed to her having her own bank account if she contributed proportionally to her income to the household expenses. We would get together around once a month, take trips together and vacations. All of our kids are good friends. During the decade I was married I did everything possible for my ex and his wife to become friends, since my ex had no friends. I wish the best interest of the kids wasn’t some bullshit statement to favor the woman. It would be in my kids best interest to put that $2k into a college fund instead of her spending it on herself. | 1 | Disrespectful stbx wife, need some adviceDon’t get temporary orders until she moves out. That should be priority number one. Once she’s out she looses all leverage over changing her mind and staying in the house. It is also a benefit when it comes to custody as your home, neighborhood and schools are now the status quo. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/09/23 02:06 AM
Father's don't want custody? Not everyone has $50k sitting around for a court battle. Default should always be 50/50. In the rare cases there is evidence of actual abuse that is the only time it should deviate from 50/50. The bar should be set very high for it ever being contested. Just the threat of a court battle forces a lot people’s hands to settle for less. | /r/MensRights | 21/09/23 03:50 PM

After I filed, the first thing she did was buy a new car, her current one ran great and had years of life left on it. She tried to get me to pay for half of it. Luckily she miscalculated, and I wasn’t on the hook for half of a new Mercedes. Two months later she traded the Mercedes with her mother’s 2009 Camry.
