Save your time. Every single category, gender, religion but also race and so on consists of virtually nothing but prejudice.

Certainly not evidence for themselves, because they already know the fact , but rather an evidence to show to others who still think that it's a gendered crime. I prefered a collection of studies instead of two examples. I hope the upvoters actually did use the link as evidence, not as fuss dope.

Yes that's true. Still I haven't seen a comment in this tread saying "oh wow, it's actually not a gendered issue? I didn't know that" and I don't expect one of those and I think neither does op. But you're right, beyond that point it's speculation.

Depends. When a newspaper brings stories about male honour killers, they should also talk about female honour killers, so they are just doing their job. Maybe they weren't even thinking about men's rights issues at all. But to me it seems like op just wanted to show r/mensrights some evil women. But that doesn't help anyone. We all know they do exist. He might instead show the link to someone who needs to be convinced that women aren't all angels.

Not this. Usually the media show male honour killers and is not interested, when they are female. Moreover they call it honour kill when killer and victim are relatives and somehow connected to the Islam. It's a mr issue to show that women at not morally superior, but it's not an mr issue to demonize women or to name and shame random women who did evil things.

Oic. Cool. Well I still don't like the idea about the flags. but it seems that uncommon things go together: Talking about male victims and being able to present facts ^^

This is how to do it right: Name sources Don't give 1/2 of the attention to the sex (I assume that there was/will be also a female victim awareness week in april, that makes two of four weeks that are only about the victims' sex) Tell the reader where you have your facts from. Don't have him see it and call bullshit. Don't just name the fact, tell the readers what to do when something happens to pop into their mind about the fact (like I know one of the 1/6, or even I am one of the 1/6) Never cl…

Physical attractiveness (or lack thereof) is not relevant to the role of attorney general Not when you're talking about someone in the context of his or her profession. There is a definition of sexual harassment, and it doesn't say anything about talking about irrelevant things. Not even if it's about someone's outward appearence when the subject is actually this person's profession.

regret sex isn't alway rape sex Take the "always" out. In order to regret something you have to want it first which excludes rape by definition. Regret sex is never rape sex.

I was really pondering whether I should draw attention to that. Yes they do have a right to free speech, but this whole campaign looks like they're planning a huge edit war in order to "improve" the given articles on that day, that is: change the articles to fit their pov by brute force. If they have the admins on their side, it's quite pointless to challenge them.

Yes, indeed you said that. So if group A is bigger in a gym, what's the problem about it so they're not granted access for a certain amount of time regularily? Imho that only makes sense under the assumption that group A is a throng of hormone driven borderline rapisits who forget their actual business in a gym as soon as a member of group B shows up.

That's a lovely idea, but I'm afraid it's not that there aren't any men's rights books. The problem is that books that puts people's pov from tv talkshows at risk will never be "easy to digest". That's why feminism books are better sellers, and that's what presses and book stores want. And they probably won't publish/sell a book which is already available for free on reddit. :-(

I also think most people actually care as much as op about who else is in the restroom. They just want to do their business and then get out of there. Of course they will notice people of the other sex because they aren't used to it, but as long as no one disturbs them, everything will be cool......... except for people who hate the other sex and need to be as victim as possible in order to deal with their dissonance, and e.g. the mere presence of a man where they don't expect him is almost rape…

Equality means unequal rights. Thanks for clearing things up. Women are smaller than men, but not every woman is smaller than any man not every taller person is stronger than any smaller not every victim wants to hit the attacker back at all, even if he's stronger. who wins a fight isn't always determined by strength that's why the law doesn't say: women may hit men 20% stronger. that wouldn't mean equality. but "no hitting, only for self defense" sounds quite fair.

Or maybe the actual victim can insert, or the rapist can insert the victim into herself. This way the law would be vague enough to allow female rape

applaud I don't applaud a child who counts 8 elephants when there are 4. But when it grasps that elephants can be counted and does counting moves with its finger and says numbers in the right order, aka tries counting for the first time, I give him a pat and say "still wrong, but the direction is correct. keep it up" influences Maybe, I didn't try, but I think that even stubborn people can change their opinion edit: formatting

"We" have upvoted a sign made by rad fems admitting male victims of sexual assault, even without the usual "women have it worse though" talk. It's a male victim campaign by feminists. I haven't ever seen such a thing before. Let's encourage them to use better stats next time.

Hm, very good question, sir. Probably too good for me. I have no clue what to call for. I think the punishments for false accuse are already quite harsh, but afaik women rarely face a charge in the first place when falsely accusing. The reason for that is that the officers see women who sobbingly admit that the rape story was all made up still as victims, and the men who were falsely accused are just happy that they don't have to go to jail and maybe they just want to sweep up the shards at rest…

I can't help noticing that some MRAs make the same mistakes that feminists make. Maybe just because they are human beings just like feminists are, and just like feminists do, they tend to believe that they know better than everyone else, and they tend to find an ideology that fits to their belief, and they tend to fall for flawed logic to make those parts of the ideology that don't fit to their belief "fitting" by (mis)interpreting, forgetting parts, adding new parts, etc. That's why a "feminist…

Yeah, well, when the other comes up with nonsense hidden behind maths, I'd hope he won't need the the "subtract 'prejudice'" part explained that way, although it's correct. Of course it won't go well that easy; the other will not simply say "oh yea, now that you say It, I may have been wrong all the time." But when discussing with feminists, I got the idea, that they aren't actually dumb, but just taken in their own "mathaphors". Just showing them, that the math part doesn't add up may strip the…

Sexism has nothing to do with power. Not powerful people can be sexist. Moreover I think that sentences like these should not be put as mathematical equations. It gives the impression of being scientific, deterministic and not to be doubted, but in fact it just confuses things by replacing significant English grammar by abstract math symbols and then not using any number or declared variable rather than vague words and not telling how things should be "added" and "equated". If there's still any …

"Bitch" is used oftentimes in settings that is not misogynistic, but that doesn't mean that it's not a misogynistic term This is valid for every word. Even "Mattress"can be a misogynistic term when used in a misogynistic setting. Same for "Bitch" except it's a swear word.. How do you measure the weight of a word?

Now that you are supplied with some info, would you mind me not holding back my curiousity about community legal centres anymore? thousands of women who have been beaten ... have come in for help ... Do you perform a kind of "fact check" before helping, or do you automatically give help to every woman who claims that she has been beaten, and assume that she isn't lying or blatantly exaggerating and also it wasn't her who started the violence in the first place? I can picture, that it's actually …

Bringing up men's rights issues should never be deemed "inappropriate". There should be space left to think and talk about something else too. Like when a friend has problems that has nothing to do with men's or women's rights, If you know a segue to men's rights, ok, remember it, if it's a situation as small as a ticket, there will be time for it very soon. Bringing up a woman's rights issues would never be labelled as inappropriate, You are right here. especially not when it is pertinent to th…

You are right. And there's a difference between an emotional circlejerk and just listening a while to a friend when he wants to talk about something that bothers him, no matter how small the situation may or should be. All I want to say is: You may just aswell wait with that discussion for the five minutes it takes him to feel alright again. Plus he will be much more open to your opinion as if you ignore his problems and just move on to your favourite subject.

How is it ever an inappropriate time to bring up gender double-standards at all? I'm not quite getting you. Are you asking me to give you more examples of situations, where i feel it's not appropriate to pick a discussion about gender issues? I'm quite confident that a friend telling you about his troubles that have only marginally to do with gender would allow delaying this subject until both parties feel positive about it. She certainly wouldn't have refrained from pointing that shit out had t…

Ok she said that she would hate the cop if he gave you a ticket as a guy and she didn't want to make this a gender discussion in the first place, so why make it one now? I think it's still a friend who asks for some help/compassion, why not let her talk and listen a little and when she feels ok again, drop something like "hey besides that you can feel lucky that you are a girl..." This way you could have shown her that men have and show their (opposing) opinion and there's no need to think they'…
