Whatever it is that you just said doesn't address my point. How are these qualities things that should be expected, as a minimum, for ever adult, male or female? And OP isn't saying that her personality makes her pretty, she's saying that her face is pretty. You're saying that should be a basic expectation rather than a perk.

The makeup industry. The fashion industry. The jewelry industry. The hairdressing industry. The hair conditioning product industry. The skin care industry. The fake boobs industry. The diet industry. How many of these can make an ugly person pretty? I’m not talking about dressing well or having a nice body, I’m talking about being pretty. Just by searching ‘makeup’ in the TRP (which, admittedly, is not something that is talked about often), any time it was brought up was hateful (not unlike most…

The person I was responding to said that "being pretty" is a basic requirement, and I asked what if you're not? I'm assuming multi-billion dollar industry you're referring to is the makeup industry. I was arguing that TRP doesn't seem to approve of that, either, from what I've seen. I don't frequent the sub, and I understand that not everyone agrees with each post, but I see this kind of thing come up a lot. It's not even limited to TRP, it just seems to be a common stance many men have, particu…

But then TRP complains that makeup is lying. This girl is talking about being naturally pretty.

I don't see why having long hair or having sex with one person are things that > ANY ADULT REGARDLESS OF GENDER IS SUPPOSED TO DO Those are Red Pill standards for women only. And what about being pretty? It's not like a person can help that.

Maybe you should point out that it's not the same people saying those things. The people sharing stories aren't saying it didn't work and the people saying they don't fall for that aren't sharing stories. There are also stories demonstrating that it's not all sleaze, and a lot of times it's just a way for a nice, shy guy to talk to a girl.

Does it ever occur to any of you that this kind of "collecting" is really unattractive? I'm glad that you felt confident, honestly. That's really great. And if you're interested in just "collecting" kisses and numbers that go nowhere, then your questions really seem to work. However, if you want to take a girl home, or have any further contact at all, you've got to make her feel like she's special and you noticed her and her alone. It would be a huge turn off to realize that you've used the same…

I mean.... You should try talking to her first. I'd be kind of weirded out if someone said I "look like their type." Like, what kind of "type" do I look like? Is your "type" pretty girls in bars? Is that your only expectation, that she looks good? Talk to her first, and see if she really is your "type", beyond her looks. After that, yeah, this approach is great. I can honestly say I've never seen a man simply say, "So, already like you a lot. I'd love to take you out sometime." I can only speak …

Good job! Hey, just so's ya know: her being attached shouldn't file under a rejection. It's not because she didn't like you :). Go get 'em.

Okay... So if he wanted it to stop because she withdrew consent, what would you suggest he do about it?

If you like her, ask, "Hey, so are you seeing someone?" and go from there. Simple, no?

I absolutely disagree: If she doesn't mention a boyfriend, it doesn't mean she's into you. Just when is this supposed to come up? If I'm getting along with a guy in my class am I supposed to make sure he knows my status? Is none of his business. If he asks me out, of course I'll say I'm taken. But the tricky thing here is if you flat out say you have a boyfriend before they ask, then it gets all awkward and the guys like "Oooo... kay..." and gets embarrassed about rejection. Been there, done tha…

As a lady, I like a satisfied smile and a "that was nice" type comment. Use body language or subtle languange to let her know you've been wanting to kiss her and you're happy that you have.

That's exactly the problem with bitchy resting face, though. If you're relaxed, not beaming, your face looks like you're pissed. This causes problems when it comes to flirting, and also with other women. You know when a lady doesn't like a lady for this incredibly juvenile reason: "She just gives me dirty looks." That's bitchy resting face.

For every hot girl that gets approached a hundred times a night, there's another hot girl who spends the night watching her friend get hit on. Try to find the second girl and make her night by expressing an interest.

Lip biting, lingering eye contact, lingering brushes of hand to his arms (like, "Oh, you!"), touching my mouth, laughing a "cute" laugh, rather than my usual boisterous laugh, low and quiet voice, raised, cocky eyebrows, generally suggestive looks and speech.

Trust your instinct! I'd ask, and you can be off handed about it like "You seem to be pretty busy in the evenings, are you seeing someone?" Like another commenter said, if he is married, he's likely to lie. Personally, when things get too convoluted, I tend to assume it's a lie. If/when he says, "Oh no, I'm single but the evenings are the only time I get to rest and today I slept in and I was sooo tired and I had to work late because of...." Yeah, that's a lie. And don't beat yourself up if that…

I assume that OP bossed this girl around with a hint of humor, the sound of a smile? Charming insistance? The way I read that, I would have told him to fuck directly off. Nobody puts baby in a corner. EDIT: That being said, I think this is good advice. You can only be friendzoned if you agree to that arrangement. Well done, OP.

Can confirm. Am female. The times I've been most attracted to a man: he approached me and I could tell he wanted me. Not like, because I'm a lady. He wanted me: he saw, he liked, he had to pursue. On behalf of the ladies, though: it only works if you're genuine. You would not believe how often this flounders because it's faked, just looking for superficial tail.

When I read this, skimming the intro, I didn't realize it was done as a group. That's definitely a huge factore, OP.

Lady here! This is amazingly accurate, with good advice. I loved the bit about including the whole group. When my friend is being hit on, a man making the effort to learn my name, too, and even friendly-flirt a bit with me goes a long way! It makes her like him more and me approve more. Though I am concerned about the "reasonably attractive" part. Granted, I live in the Pacific NW and I'm told men here are more timid, but some of my friends and myself are rarely approached, even in bars and club…

You kind of answered your own question; if you really like the girl, you should fight for her. I think most girls just want to feel like you genuinely want to be with her and that you'll work for it. Though, I should add that this is only fair to do when you really like or love her. I mean, it's not genuine if you're doing it for sport then you later realize you don't like her that much. (It's really hard for me to answer these kinds of questions without bias! Anybody else feel that way?)

Ah, yes. So, does the power then shift when a woman gives it up too quickly? Implying that she is easy and has probably slept with many men without being 'hired'? I love the working analogy, so true!

I think this makes a lot of sense, however, I'm curious what makes the man in the 'employer' and the woman the 'interviewee'. I'm definitely not pulling a sexism card here, but all you've done here us reiterate the double standard that men hold the power. This point is very well thought out and incredibly interesting! Any further musings?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
