Talk to your lawyer. Seriously, doing this without a lawyer on your side is like bringing a toy knife to a gun fight

well, that's fine, what does your lawyer say is fair? How much is she giving in child support? I'd get her to sign the agreement to primary custody and the house, and then get her for child support.

If the huge amount of assets were obtained while you were married, you're entitled to half. Unless she's already subtracting your 401k, etc. Even with no alimony there should be child support. I'm worried about her wanting to divorce for "financial" reasons, but keep going. A post nup should solve that. not that you should sign one.

Man shopping plus collecting 'evidence' of anything they can use in trial to negotiate a better settlement.

marriage counseling? Seems redundant, but individual counseling can help a lot, too. At least to either make up your mind one way or another. How old will you be?

I think that's the lesson. Most divorced women have told me by the second date, or it was in their profile. I'd disclose earlier. Doesn't have to be second date, but definitely by date three or so. I could see being up all night at age 30 if someone I had caught feelings for dropped it.

Sure. And I would say, that in a happy marriage, you shouldn't need to be so delicate. But it sounds like you two are really on the ropes.

You won't get more than 50/50, unless she agrees to it somehow. You need to let the 'more than 50/50' go, unless you have some secret way of showing that a lot of it was pre-marital. Even if it was, like 401k, the earnings during that period of marriage will still be split. It's not fair. I'm sorry. Yeah, the law is dealing with meth addicts and parents who disappear. Unless she's putting you or the kids in the hospital you won't get anything different. Start setting cash aside.

As someone who is on the other end of this. I have a wife, who has loved me. But screamed endlessly at me over objectively trivial things. When we discussed in therapy she said it was because it was the only way to get the results she wanted. It can be your choice to "love someone and think they hung the moon" but not differntiate that you are criticizing the shit out of his behavior. And that's invalidating. Everywhere in psychology that I've read, (and I did minor in psychology, with a lot of …
