Men do too. It’s because so many people pick their partners for the wrong reasons.

How do you rationally/logically come up with ONE reason why billions of people are single? Some of us are single because we don’t take care of ourselves, are losers and/or are just flat out ugly.

My bad. It was a productive discussion at least.

I disagree. Joe average still wants an average sized body.

“If every man made 100k, an obese chick would demand a dude making 200k” — Source? “80% of women in longterm relationships gain a lot of weight” — Source? I think the more proper way of evaluating this is that the majority of both men and women gain weight as they age. You had a good point at the end of your post, but I was distracted by all of the facts you pulled straight from your ass. You don’t need data to contribute meaningfully to a discussion — it helps but it’s not necessary. You only h…

There were reasons you failed, but none of them are that you are incapable.

I’d argue anything considered trauma in childhood is going to be significant. I think your question is, was any of my childhood trauma sexual or physical? I don’t believe so, but I sometimes wonder what may have happened when I was an infant — not at the hands of either of my parents though. I never liked changing in front of anyone, as early as I can remember I would ask my mom to turn around if I was changing. I’ve also always been incredibly uncomfortable/suspicious around men my father’s age…

Doesn’t matter. Anyway, the fact that it’s conditional just adds credibility to JDBF.

I like this a lot. Over the years it’s become obvious that my biggest hurdle is a mental block. The problem was never losing weight, the problem was having an unsustainable mindset and getting burnt out. If I change the narrative to view weight cutting as a skill and as a temporary period instead, I know for a fact that I’m fully capable of it. Wow. Having an aha-moment here. Thanks neostoic, for taking the time, communicating kindly and acting on instinct when you realized what type of advice I…

It’s the “sexual mostly” that’s important here. I’m not talking about getting fucked, I’m talking about serious dating.

This is one of my favorite answers. Specifically about JDBF sweeping so many things under the rug. Thank you Stergeary.

You’re right. I definitely friendzone myself faster than anyone can breathe. At its core it seems you do believe that JDBF is the answer though.

No, I was offering a potential explanation for why that may be the case. I actually disagree and see more fat women with fat men.

Men rarely talk to, let alone befriend, women who aren’t fuckable. Does that mean they find them attractive? Not necessarily. It just means they’re fuckable.

True! I didn’t say it was easy though. Just possible.

See, that’s the thing. The window between “not fat” and “obese” (which im referring to here as just “fat”) is such a grey area and extremely conditional. It’s seemingly way easier to simply not be fat.

This post isn’t for weightloss advice
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/23 05:11 AM

Good point about other criteria. But we’re talking about the bare minimum here. Also, not talking about normie women. Just talking about actual fat people.

Have you tried turning it off and on?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/23 05:04 AM

It was just me and my skinny mom when I was 12. I don’t know. I certainly worried about her safety, but never mine. In that sense, it’s a luxury to be invisible to men.

I disagree, being intimidating doesn’t contradict wanting to hide. How you present yourself to the world doesn’t always match how you’re feeling. I interpreted feeling “too vulnerable to be brave enough to be a healthy weight” as psychological insight. Like, a fear of success if that makes sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/23 05:01 AM

Like I said in another comment, the fact that it is conditional brings us back to JDBF.

I did. That was a comment on how JBDF validates a cognitive distortion, not an invitation for weight loss advice.

I see. I dont have a fear of victimization to be honest, at least not physically. I’m tall and, according to many people and my own experiences, have an intimidating presence.

Very interesting, you may have hit the nail on the head. But why are masculine sports the answer?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/23 04:20 AM

Valid and I agree. I’m curious about change though. Weight fluctuates. Self-care fluctuates. Everything fluctuates. Just because I’m fat now doesn’t mean I will be later and vice versa. Just because someone is broke now doesn’t mean they won’t be rich later. Etc. I think it’s a sad reality that relationships can begin, bloom and break based on things that can change so easily.

Back to your original comment. Yes, fat men and women still date, get married and get laid. My post isn’t concerning fat men, and it also isn’t about fat women getting married or getting laid. I asked about fat women dating — and yes, statistically, a percentage of them will go on dates. My post is leaning towards that percentage and how low it is. Feel free to contribute some substance to the discussion once you understand the post :)

This post isn’t about me but rest assured I am objectively fat
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/23 03:45 AM

Yeah but most fat women show it in their face, so if you want to go that route then it’s a double whammy

If they’re not, I still don’t know if they were fat at the beginning of the relationship and neither do you

This is an interesting point. For a long time and even now still, I got away with looking less fat than I am — mostly because I’m tall and proportionate but also because I know exactly what to cover and accentuate. That said, it’s VERY catfish-y and limiting, and makes sex ridiculously scary because you can’t hide shit when you’re naked
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/23 03:28 AM

Oh God no, I would NOT want a JDBF bro. But that’s what I’m getting at… it seems like the majority ARE in fact JDBF bros. I almost feel like the one advantage of being where I am now is that I never have to worry about someone liking me for a shallow reason.

I appreciate this response. I’ve been in the “not fat” category before. At least now I know what “not fat” actually looks and feels like. What turned you onto red pill?

I’m in therapy and there’s absolutely something deeper going on. I’m just sad about it because I compare myself to the other people who also have deep shit going but get to go through it with a partner I suppose.

Well, for starters, if they’re out in public with their child then they’re probably not on their first or second date

This is how I felt about college — it was so easy and doable. I am fully confident that anyone who wants to get a degree can get one, but still there are so many people who don’t do it because it’s too hard, because they’re scared they’ll fail, etc. I dont know where im going with this analogy except to say that I hear you and I just don’t know how to get it under control.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/23 03:14 AM

Sure I have, but it’s not relevant because I’m talking about early stages of a relationship
