I was under the impression that "neckbeard" referred to someone with slovenly grooming, not being overweight. The first page of Urban Dictionary and a majority of results in a Google image search seem to indicate that I am right. Now, someone's poor grooming is still not a sufficient argument against them, but it doesn't appear that David is calling them overweight -- just like the name of his blog is not an attack on anyone's weight.

From the very first sentence of the opinion: Lindy Deer was convicted of third degree rape of a child after having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old boy on multiple occasions. Not necessarily all of those at once, but if you have multiple symptoms from that list at the same time, there's cause for concern. Basically, the misconception is that a heart attack totally incapacitates you immediately, which isn't necessarily true. My beloved (male) cousin died because neither he nor his wife recognized his symptoms as a heart attack, since his symptoms were more in line with those that women commonly experience. Educating more people that symptoms of heart attacks go way beyond the classic male symptoms can actually help men too. Not to mention it isn't a zero sum game here; you can educate both women and men about symptoms of heart disease. Look, when you do that, no one loses--isn't that a good thing?

This is just one bill out of a 19-bill package on human trafficking. This particular bill has a very limited intent, which is to set a uniform minimum age of 18 under which a person (gender-neutral) cannot be charged with prostitution. Other bills in the package do make it clear they are intended to cover the broad range of human trafficking as defined by the Michigan Penal Code. During hunting season, accidental shootings are so common, agencies issue press releases warning hunters to be careful not to shoot dogs.
