Yeah my lawyer told me 10-20k to wrap up everything. It’s been 1 year and I’ve spent over 25k so far just on lawyer. We don’t even have assets and have only been married 1.5 years. Looks like divorce is going to take longer than the marriage did

Tell her hey if she wants a divorce she can get the fuck on and go file. Go visit your mother bro she loves you way more than any woman on this earth is capable of and you already lost your father- who knows how much time your mother has left. God willing she lives a very long and healthy life. Be your own man and if she can’t handle it she can leave. Put your foot down

So .. I give myself a monthly amount to live off, so that I can save for retirement and emergencies. Am I not allowed to give my stay at home wife a budgeted monthly allotment, so that we both can live comfortably for the rest of our lives? I pay for everything. If she wants to work and use all her money on herself, feel free.

This is my view. Going through divorce now and although I do want a life partner, I don’t think I’ll get married again.

Dude I’m in illinois and I’m already 10k deep in lawyer for the first month. If this takes another 6 months I am expecting like a 30k+ bill

How do you pay child support if it’s not court ordered? What happens if you don’t pay? I don’t get it

What do you mean ? Just curious if you don’t mind elaborating. My first thought is, I dont want to abandon my daughter, I want her in my life and I’m sure it will be beneficial for her to have me in her life. Second- I don’t think it will burn through my life savings. Idk though

Thank you sir. Should I wait until Monday to hire lawyer to do it for me or should I take first steps on my own? And since you are a lawyer- how much should I expect to reasonably pay for all of this?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
