Absolutely. This is what shaped my parenting of my kids and it's been fantastically effective.

Nurturing is letting him know he has food on his face. Mothering is wiping it off for him. 😆 But seriously, I think of nurturing as helping him be who he wants to be, and supporting him in those endeavors. I see it also as not telling him how to do something, but rather asking how I can help him. Nurturing acknowledges him as an adult man, and that he is fully capable of doing things himself, but wanting to assist him and provide ease for him.

The day I met my DH, I came home and told my mother that I'd either met the man who would break my heart forever or the father of my children. I was 17 so at first I had a big issue with being clingy. What would have definitely helped was to not see him at that stage as my entire world. He became really annoyed by it. Guys will 99% of the time get scared off by aggressive women. He went into the military 10 months into our relationship and I went to college, so I spent my time working hard in sc…

I go by firstly how comfortable I am , because if you're miserable in what you're wearing or how your hair is then it will definitely show. After that, it's about him. I've got waist length hair because he loves it ( I keep it up during the day for comfort but take it down at bedtime). I'm really big on modesty, because I believe my body is precious and amazing and belongs only to me and him, not randos on the street. This is respect for myself and respect for him. People might believe that dres…

I'm now mom to a 15 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. I can definitely say that motherhood isn't always full of joy, even if your main life goal was to be a mom. The first year of motherhood is probably the hardest. It's exhausting, confusing, and frustrating at times. The loss of bodily autonomy can be incredibly difficult to adjust to - I was used to being able to sleep how much I wanted, eat what I wanted, and go where I wanted without planning. Recovery from delivery was painful. My 'birt…

You did that eyeliner perfectly! You could cut someone with those wings. You're a lovely lady!

For perfume I was taught to spray lightly in the air then walk through the cloud, so it doesn't concentrate on one spot. I second everything you've said. Beauty is cleanliness and confidence, not paint and bleach.

Wash externally daily with something designed for that area but don't use anything internally because it throws off the normal healthy balance. Cotton undies let the area breathe so less likely for odor to build up. Don't feel self conscious about the color. It's got nothing to do with hygiene and everything to do with your skin tone. There's a lot of blood vessels in the area which causes darker coloring too. You're clean and healthy, and that's all that matters.

CeraVe is my go-to as well. Their night cream is great, their day cream has spf 30.

Bringing Up Boys, and also Bringing Up Girls, by James Dobson. Ovb Christian books but incredibly insightful on raising your boys to nurture their innate masculinity in healthy ways, and in your girls their femininity.

Darn Good Yarn have recycled sari silk wrap skirts in a wide range of sizes, in beautiful colors, that can me worn several ways. They come in both mini and ankle length and are so flattering. I just bought ones for my 12 year old daughter and I. They have 3/ $99 sales quite often. I wear them with leggings and boots in the winter.

Absolutely! You should be very proud of yourself. I was proud of me too, since I'd spent my life being a doormat and had gotten out of an abusive relationship the year before (at 16). I was beginning to learn in the aftermath that someone else's failure to see my value doesn't mean I'm valueless. I met my husband shortly after that and he's truly cemented it in my brain. Your value is not lowered due to someone's inability to see it. You've shown that you know your value.

ABSOLUTELY the right move on your part. You're showing that you know your worth, and won't degrade yourself for him. That put your value up in his world. I had an ex in high school who broke up with me because he wanted to explore his attraction to men. He grandly declared he might be back, like I should wait for him. I said good luck, hope you find your person. He came back a couple months later and declared it was a big mistake, I was the love of his life and we were destined to be together. I…

I've been diagnosed with Bipolar 2. It's definitely a struggle to keep myself moving forward and contributing to the household as I should be when I go between despondent, to angry, to numb, often in a very short span. I'm incredibly blessed to have my husband who has been with me since we were teenagers, and he has learned my signals so well. He can usually tell when I'm going up or down before I do. My biggest advice is MEDS MEDS MEDS. Your value isn't negated by having an illness, mental or o…

I follow the guide of "if it only affects me, inform; if it affects everyone, ask." Like, "I'm going to go get my hair cut." vs "Is it cool if I get new curtains for the living room?"

Lol....my husband wears kilts as part of the historical reenactment group we're in. He's got a bunch. When he gets home from work he takes off the work clothes and puts on his "house kilt". He says they are much more comfortable 🙂

I love dresses but wearing anything shorter than knee length makes me uncomfortable, so I wear smoothing leggings under anything that slides higher than kneecaps when I sit down. I use the trick of laying my hand across my chest with my thumb against my collarbone, and if there is any skin showing between my hand and my shirt then it needs a camisole or tank top under. There's not really any reason anyone should see my cleavage. I don't think bodies are shameful at all. Actually, I love mine a l…

Seconded. That stuff is poison. I was so unhappy in my teens because I devoured that kind of media but had a heart for being a traditional homemaker. I thought there was something wrong with me because I didn't want what Cosmo said I should.
