Learning be alone is a process but the pay off is great. Before the divorce and since I was a kid I always thought I needed someone. Yes I am in a realtionship again but I really like doing things alone. If you miss the sexual aspect of it just go see a hooker. Think of the person you were before the relationship . And like a said before lots of time to have a family and such. Be happy you don’t have child support like me hahah

150000 , a home, that I bought for 473000 had to sell for 328000 now worth $700000. 40000 in child support, 30000 on lawyers, 7000 in supervised visit. She accused me of beating her and my son. Not one hospital report, not one bruise, no charge ever , not a shred of evidence but it took me 8 months to clear my name. Took me 9 years to save up enough for down payment for small condo. I would have been mortgage free this year and renting out that home. Now she just stonewalls me and takes all of m…

Nothing I am still on the losing end. My son is an adult dependent we have 50/50 custody. But she collect all of the money from the government. When he is with me I pay for it all out of pocket. This is after I lost the home and paid her child support till 18 years old. The total was $200000 total. I won’t spend any more money on legal fees as it cost $40000 that money is legally both of ours. I try to focus on what I can do. Once I start making more money I may take legal action but in the mean…

Hi I didn’t have alimony but I had child support. I got accused of domestic violence. I never laid a hand on her or my son. It took 7 months and &40000 to clear up. I lost my home and since then have had to move 3 times. Now finally after 7 years I have enough money saved to put a down payment on a condo. I am still depressed I ride my bike as much as I can. Aim small and try to hit your goals. In quit drinking for 3 years and it sort of helped me out. Do you have any money left to spoil yoursel…

I lost my home and $40000 my home was valued at 490000 sold for 334000 it’s worth $850000 now. In total I lost $200000. On top of that I paid her $30000 in child support. I am still not recovered. That was 8 years ago. I moved in with my girlfriend and had cheaper rent. And saved as much as I could monthly. Now I have a enough for a down payment on a condo

$60000/year $500. I started earning a lot less after my divorce as i wanted to change careers. I paid her out $72000 in 8 years. It was brutal I never missed a payment. My suggestion is trying to live in a really cheap place. It sucks

Hey brother, I was never arrested my wife told police I was suicidal during this time I was put in the temp psych ward for 10 days. Then she put a epo out claiming she was scared of me. She put her self in a women shelter and they coached her to say I was being abusive. She cuts hair out of our old home if there was any sort of abuse her client would have noticed. Also not a single doctor report hospital visit. Our son is disabled we go to the hospital a lot for check up they would have notice s…

Honestly it took me a two years but I feel great. I like being able to do what I want when I want and how I want. I do almost everything alone now. I been in some sort of relationship for 20 years now so I really didn’t know myself. All my ex have made me be better in someway or the other I like to think.

Me too man. First a epo then 7 month of supervised visit with zero proof of abuse. Not a single scratch or hospital visit or report in 12 years we were together. Verbal yes as we both hated each other by the end of the marriage. So after $30000 in lawyer fees I had my son 3 days a week. 6 years later and $4000 more of lawyer fees I have him 50% of the time. Somehow I have to pay for all the child support still. Broke as fuck but so happy to see my son on an equal bases. Keep going man. It is eas…

It’s very normal. My was set with out a shred of evidence. I was with her for 12 years not a scratch on her and she cut hair for her friends so they would have noticed. My son actually ask my brother where I was when my ex wife took him to the shelter. My protection order led to me not being able to see my son for 8 months with out a supervisor. It cost $116 hour to see my son. My lawyer fees were $30000. I lost $150000 on my home that would have been paid off this year. Needless to say I was no…

I am 6 years post separation. 5 year’s divorce. I remember I needed to be around someone all the time or go out to not feel lonely. But man do I like being alone now. I like how clean my home is. I work, sleep, go to school, work on my business and I have my kid 3.5 days a week. I quit drinking as it was making me feel depressed even if I had one beer. This is not a brag but work through all emotions and you will figure out you are the best the company to be around. If you are feeling horny just…

Try not to drink or party hard go see other family ave friends if possible . When you do get him just have Xmas again. I used to do this when I would miss holidays as a chef .

I just want this person to feel ok about himself. As long as it does not harm anyone I say do whatever is needed. It took me a while to realize I am not a sack of shit that the courts /my ex said I was. Divorce with children really changes you. I was never a alcoholic but quit drinking for over a year. My focus right now is on me and my son. Where before it was on work/earning as much I can to provide for my family.

My ruined my life. Took my son, and $1500000 lost my home . I pay child support now and live paycheque to paycheque. I was not perfect by any means but the system is flawed as it intended to make money for every one expect the one person in the relationship. Hopefully you get the dog and easier said then done reset your life . Make it all about you. Go see a shrink go to a hooker if needed. But take care of yourself. Take a vacation if you have money.
